it doesn’t even matter about the severity. Even cmc said in an interview this is what happens with injuries. They come in pairs or triples. Rbs get dinged up a ton because they play one of the most physical positions in the game. Injuries start adding up, and that highest paid rb contract starts looking stupid as hell when he starts missing 4,5,6,7 games a year. This is the trend for nfl rbs. People were screaming not to sign him to a second deal and at the very least wait until 5th year option to see how his body holds up. for the love of god I hope fitts doesn’t overvalue rbs and linebackers like panther gms of the past.

Exactly. The biggest thing to me is keeping second rounders and 2 of the 3 young defensive starters. Burns is the most important, then Brown then Chinn. I know Chinn is a baller but it’s just positional value. We need to keep those 2nd rounders though if we give away a young defensive player.

It depends on the trade. The big question is can we still build up the team around Watson with no first rounders for the next 2 years. I think we could. I consider 1 of those firsts would be like we drafted Watson this year. When you start throwing in our young defensive players like Burns, Chinn and Brown I could only do one. And I’d want it to be Chinn. If it’s two of them, nope. If they start saying 3 1sts and 2 2nds but no other young defensive players I’d be listening. It’s a balance. Can’t mortgage too much where there is zero hope of building the team up over the next several season. I’m ok with giving up 3 1sts. there are tons of different scenarios here.

No that’s not the case at least for me. There have been multiple reports from different outlets saying the panthers are aggressively trying to get him. There is also a poster here, verge who has shared sources from scouts she knows for years that have been right on the money. Most people here aren’t seeing this as a done deal, just that there is a chance and there’s a lot of smoke. you had made it seem that deshaun would 100% not come here and would flex his no trade clause. That’s a bit different then what you’re saying now. And that’s fine.

And what I mean by that is there was always a possibility that we wait a year or even let him play out his contract because we don’t have other options. This may mean something might be going down.
