Panther Shopping for Number 1 caliber WR, Top Priority
Billy Goat replied to ncfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
The only way I could see this happening is by getting draft capital for Burns, but trading Burns would signal rebuild and trading for a WR1 signals the opposite. So yeah, dumb decisions all around if it happens. -
How many of these plays could Bryce make?
Billy Goat replied to PanthersGOATFan336's topic in Carolina Panthers
The version of Lafell Cam was throwing to in his rookie year would be the best receiver on this team. It's probably a toss of a coin deciding who's the better TE option with Shockey and Hurst. The offensive line that year was ranked 9th overall by PFF. You can't even compare what the two are working with. -
Has to be traded at this point. He's not worth the money he'll demand and the team needs as many picks as possible. If they could get a 1st and a mid rounder for him they should do it without a second thought.

Frank’s End of Game “Playcalling”
Billy Goat replied to USDepartmentOfSavagery's topic in Carolina Panthers
Let's not forget the first half. TMJ makes a catch on the Vikings 41, 28 seconds on the clock with two timeouts and he lets the clock run down and we get the play off with 12 seconds remaining. We come away with 3 points but there was an opportunity to be in a position to have a shot or two at the end zone. It's just really bad the whole game. -
This offense is amateur hour and it’s a complete embarrassment

The TD to Chark last week was the one big play the offense has had in 4 games and that was credited to Thomas and Parks Frazier. Reich basically said Dalton asked to air it out a bit more against Seattle as well, so the way I see it Reich is intentionally calling these ultra safe, short yard plays. He's terrible. -
I'm not convinced by Young but I'm reluctant to call him a bust with the way the playcalling has been. The question is are these calls part of the game plan or are they catered around the QBs limitations? Every game Young has played in the announcers have constantly pointed out that they need to open up the field and go long and it never happens. Is that on Reich or on Young?
-
Reich is trash. Awful game management.
-
This playcalling.....Definitely the sort of stuff to keep the stadium empty for the rest of the year.
-
Becoming a bit of a chore to watch us throw screens and 5 yard passes all game. Reich's playcalling leaves a lot to be desired.

Official Panthers at Seahawks GameDay Thread!
Billy Goat replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
That's bullshit. -
He's playing like a rookie on a bad offense with a coach that won't let him throw further than 15yds.

This really JC Horn's burner Twitter account though?
Billy Goat replied to PantherFanInPhilly's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'd rather point out the obvious than wildly speculate that someone wishing death on the internet is a Panther's player, with coincidence being the main proof for accusation. -

I mean that could quite literally be anyone who follows the Panthers and has access to the internet.- 94 replies

Jaycee Horn expected to miss multiple weeks
Billy Goat replied to jamos14's topic in Carolina Panthers
If he has surgery he's probably going to be out for 4 months, so basically season ending. Ordinarily you'd say bring in a body but if they're planning on doing nothing this season then they might as well not bother. -
A bit ridiculous to compare his first game to Cam's. Smith, LaFell, Olsen and Shockey probably get more seperation against the Atlanta D if they suited up this past Sunday, nevermind what they were doing back in 2011.

Have to echo what others have said. It's a team coming off a 7-10 record which could've easily been 9-8 with how close the losses were at the falcons and giants. Granted rookie QBs struggle but not many come into a team with a solid foundation. This team should absolutely be in with a shot at making the play-offs.

I don't understand the logic in criticising a great pass into a tight window because it may have lead to a DB making a tackle after the catch. Isn't that football? It feels like a running theme in the last few years reading people complain about passes because a big hit lands on the catcher directly after. It's a contact sport.

Think the pick will be Darius Rush. If he's gone then Henry To'oTo'o.

Mike Kaye explains DJ Johnson pick
Billy Goat replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
There's still some good FA rushers available so I'd have taken the WR with big upside as well if it was a choice between the two. Need to sign someone in FA now though. We have the cap to do it. -
Hope we don't trade back. If we're going to do any moving around I'd try and package our 3rd with one of the 4th round picks and a 5th to move higher up in the 3rd.

I'd keep drafting for the offensive side of the ball. We have the cap to sign an edge rusher and there's still some decent options out there who'd probably have more of an impact than any second rounder will in their rookie year. I'd take a TE or guard with the next pick. Very tempting to be able to get the top guard in the draft (if he's still there).
