If you look at it though Smith got lucky that game. That tipped pass inflated his stat line.

I hope Cam balls on everyone this season. I also want him to ball on us because we deserve it. But I do ultimately want us to win the game.

He’s deflecting his terrible ability to come through in the clutch with lack of practice. The team set Teddy up to win the game 8 times. He failed . Simple and plain.

I think we jump to 10-7 possibly 11-6. This defense can be scary good. We haven't had pass rushers like this since 2013 and this is the most talented secondary we've fielded since the Gamble/Lucas days. If Darnold can win half those 8 last minute losses then we will be in good shape. The Saints are going to come crashing down. They're going to be running on gimmicks and without Brees they won't be getting any boost from the refs.

This is a 10-6/11-5 squad with a decent enough QB. Our defense is super solid all the way around. Everything just hinges on the o-line playing well enough to see if Sam is the guy.

He might be good as a rested back up.

I'd sign him on a one year deal next year if Darnold completely sucks. Im sure he would be awesome here but I'm weary of his diva attitude.

For the price, I’m expecting a Gamble meets Norman type of dude. A guy that can create plays and lock dudes down man to man.

No way would Luke be in the running for assistant GM. Morgan has been in FO positions for years now. He deserves it. Doesn’t matter if Luke was a better player than he was or not.

Horn matches up with the best WRs in the league though. We need a guy who handle Evans, AB, Thomas, Jones. If he can buy the d line more time then we should be racking up sacks with the pass rushers we have. Jackson is no slouch either. Luke was a HOF LB but we are seeing a trend of MLBs retiring early. I see where Luke’s advantage was his ability to play chess with QBs but he’s the only one to ever do it on the level he did. It’s not something that will be replicated.

I don’t think we have glaring needs if Okung comes back. We also can’t have studs at every position. We’ll probably be alright with what we have at FS with the pass rush we’ll generate and the CB’s we have now.

If you believe that Darnold is the real deal, which the Panthers seem to. Then we did pretty damn good. Addressed every need and got great value.

Agree. Having competing youth is only going to help. I think this is more Rhule wanting establish his culture on the team.

My thought here is that this is a way for Fritter to fill the roster on the cheap . But also this allows Rhule to grow a culture of young guys on his team. Rhule got a lot of players to over achieve last year. If he gets the young back ups to buy in then we will be a very competitive team.

Gotta give Rhule the benefit of the doubt . They killed it last year in the draft. It wasn’t flashy but we got some good players.
