  1. I guess on the bright side, it'll be cheaper to go to a home game this year than to see the new Top Gun movie in theater.
  2. Eagles and Seahawks have 2 1st round picks each. They could make a move for Burns. If we did trade Burns I'd expect us to use those picks to deal with NO to get Payton.
  3. But how do you create a place players want to be with a move like this. These are their futures we're talking about. Mailing it in for 10 games can have a huge impact on them and their next contract or if they even get a look from another team in FA. This is sending the wrong fugging message. Burns, Brown, Chinn, DJ. I would expect them all to want out. These guys play to win. Tepper has only accomplished one thing in Carolina. Losing.
  4. We just told every player on this team that 6 weeks into the season, we quit. CMC was 75% of our offense last week. Our offensive coordinator is running high school football offense. If I'm a player, and I have my future to think about, it's not with Carolina. Get me off this sinking ship.
  5. Burns may not want to be part of a rebuild. He's seen the dysfunction of Tepper as owner and Rhule as HC. He could just want to get the hell out of here too. We may not get a choice. We may have to trade him.
  6. I'm watching the rest of the league and they're all saying we got robbed. Saying here comes the fire sale.
  7. They said there's no fire sale happening. Burns will be traded tomorrow.
  8. Picks take time to develop. The owner is a hot mess. The only fan base at home games belongs to the other team. The Carolina Panthers HC job is not an attractive one right now. The culture in Carolina is TOXIC.
  9. But what rebuild plans do we really have. We need a HC, new OC, new direction on offense and just traded away our best offensive piece by far. How do we attract a good HC candidate with what we're doing?
  10. I've always considered Shanahan to be the OC. It's his offense they're running.
  11. You almost have to wonder if DJ is going to even bother suiting up on Sunday. This team has mailed it in. The tank is on in full. PJ Walker, Foreman, and an offense play book from high school.
  12. With an offensive coordinator that actually knows what the fug he's doing
  13. Over/under Panthers don't gain 1500 yards the rest of the season
  14. Yep. We're going to get a great coaching candidate with our QB1 Matt Corral RB1 Chuba Hubbard WR1 TMJ cuz you know DJ is going next TE1 Ian Thomas For fugs sake...
  15. depends on how they finish the season. It could be a very late picks in those rounds
  16. If we don't get a haul Fitts need to be fired immediately
  17. A 3rd and a 5th that could escalate if they reach the SB. So then it would still essentially be a 3rd and a 5th and we eat 23m in dead cap? C'mon man.
  18. Maybe we could trade Tremble for Pitts since all Atlanta seems to want to do is run and we need a TE that can catch. Hell I'll even throw in Ben McAdoo and Chuba.
  19. Agreed. But the reason they had to extend was they had just given up those picks and it didn't make sense if it was only a one year rental. The Darnold trade and 5th year was poo but it was driven by a lack of direction headed by Rhule and signed off by Tepper. You just can't put yourself in that position and realistically expect to come out ahead and we did it 3 freaking times.
  20. They spent it because they had to save face. Tepper made a mess and it had to get cleaned up. They had to look like they were at least doing something to get better, because restructuring all those deals made things a lot worse. The RA deal was crap. We all know it. But mortgaging your teams financial future to go after a guy who never had any interest in playing for this team unless there was no other option was stupid. Darnold is gone after this year so the 19m on this years disappears too.
  21. Part of the reason we are in cap hell sits right with the man responsible for hiring Rhule. In order to trade for Watson, we had to make the cap space available. All that restructuring and BS associated with it was the responsibility of one David Tepper. And if we fire Fitts, Tepper will be in charge of finding the guys to consult, then hire the GM and the HC. Fitts has been average, but Tepper has poo the bed, all over the walls, and the floors.
  22. With no leverage. T2G was out the door and Rhule had made us desperate. That's not a position of strength to be negotiating from. The Jets could say no and we would still have to pursue it because the only other option was PJ Magic. The trade sucked for damn sure and I wanted no part of Darnold. I would have rather had Minshew for a 5th.
  23. Developing any player and not just relying on their athletic abilities would be a big, big boost.
