  1. I think they're just holding him back as a swing tackle just in case. Don't want to risk an injury on the inside when guards are easier to replace.
  2. So FF waiver wire addition this week you say...
  3. He doesnt have to sell the team right now. Just get out of the office other than the annual Christmas party. Hire a president of operations, collect his dividends from the NFL, and go do whatever else, then sell the Panthers at some point for 10x what he paid for it.
  4. All of this is well and good but the issue still sits in the owner's chair. Dave Tepper is hands on and a decision maker with no idea of how to run a football team. Good people don't want to come here and that starts at the top. He needs to be an owner and that's it. Hire a president of football operations that knows what he's doing and build down from there. The only identity this team has right now is get paid/get fired retirement fund. Until that changes, nothing else matters.
  5. Scoring averages are higher now than 30 years ago. Should have been clearer. The past 3 years of Bryce have been blowouts.
  6. Thats where we disagree then. I cant see a coach looking at what Dalton did last year and not wanting to at least try to improve the backup role. Not in any seriousness anyway. And why was Plummer back. He was hot garbage last TC and again this year. I just can't believe that we took the QB position seriously other than Bryce is our guy no matter what when they didnt even try to improve an ancient backup that already showed he wasnt good enough to be competitive.
  7. I'm not sure that he did chose this route and that in itself is a whole different can of worms. I still firmly believe that Tepper is forcing the Bryce issue and has since day 1. Now Canales may have signed up for it originally, but at some point, you have to let a coach coach. And I also believe any other potential coaches are going to look at Frank, DC, the whole draft debacle with BY, Dave and Nicole's involvement, and probably decline if they believe Tepper is going to tell them how to run the locker room. Trading a round 6 or 7 pick does 2 things. First, it gives DC a chance to run the offense he actually designed and two, it shows any other future candidates that Tepper isn't going to dictate the way they operate the locker room. Whether you think DC is a good coach or not, Teppers fingerprints are all over the way this team is being run and if some of that doesnt get cleared away, the only coaches or GMs that will come here will be from New Albuquerque State Polytechnic School of Fashion and Design.
  8. Not really. Admitting Bryce is a failure in Carolina is a measure of success all its own.
  9. We know what the inevitable is, but we also need to see if there is any hope for DC as a HC. It's painfully obvious Bryce can't run his offense and Tepper wouldn't allow anyone in the off-season to challenge his golden child. Now we've reached the point that either Bryce has to be benched for Dalton or we have to get someone that can run an air raid style offense. We're already getting blown out. At least this way it will be a little entertaining to watch for a week or so.
  10. I dont think Dave even has the locker room as a leader. I cant believe any other NFL coach is looking at the way Bryce has performed and says that's my guy come hell or high water. Tepper is making that call and players know it. Tepper is controlling the locker room. Dave is a figurehead.
  11. Not an entirely fair comparison. Over the past 3 decades, rules have been changed to heavily favor offenses and to increase scoring. But the past 3 years have been blowouts.
  12. At minimum, he wouldn't be a starter right now. Which is ok. He'd be riding the bench. We'd have pursued a vet starter while he learned. Things we should have done anyway. And if he legitimately beat them out for QB1, great. If not, its backup QB or on to the next team. No hard feelings.
  13. People don't want to work for a raging narcissist and Dave's sure as hell looks like one. Candidates are turning down the opportunity to interview here. When do you hear about turning down interviews at the highest level of football in professional sports. Right now, we are a retirement job. One stint in Carolina and you dont have to work again. Generational wealth for less than 3 years of service. For those who don't have a lot of opportunities on the horizon, its the perfect opportunity to take care of family and retire a rich man.
  14. But here's the thing I have to wonder. Is Canales a bad coach or is Tepper forcing him to start and play Bryce, because based on performance, it would seem so. Bryce is limited. Most of us agree on that. How much is that limiting the offense? How much is it limiting the playbook? How much is Tepper's likely interference affecting the locker room? Everywhere you look, nothing thats happening in this organization makes any sense unless you plug in that Dave has some serious influence in how the team is being run, including who starts.
  15. Actually we dont know that and we'll never know that. And for.all these experts that know who the top ranked players are, they are about as accurate as your local weatherman. Remember Mel Kiper was going to call it quits if Jimmy Pickles wasn't a football god, but he's still out there making predictions. Frank didnt even want Bryce and it was obvious in his body language after the pick, during training camp, and the 9 games before he was canned. That was Dave and Nicole's pick. Stroud fit Frank's offense. Bryce didn't.
  16. At least we'll be able to retire Eric Shelton from our memories.
  17. Tepper is our punishment from the other owners for having a young upstart QB with an infectious personality named Cam.
  18. He’s doing what his boss is telling him to do.
  19. Not a bad payday for breaking down a play for 15 minutes over a dinner salad
  20. Reich never really got a shot. Dave drafted his QB. Frank lost interest immediately because he was stuck with a QB he didn’t want. Canales, who knows. He may be a good coach, but again, Bryce is so limiting can you even evaluate him? Even having a defensive coach hasn’t worked in the past. We’ve never had back to back winning seasons.
  21. Pin this thread because its going to be here for the rest of the season at minimum
