  1. That's going to go over swimmingly in the interview afterwards: Reporter: "So you cut your Veteran QB, and signed another Veteran QB, then drafted (or traded for) a QB. In the process you lost your best offensive linemen, a WR, and prevented yourself from signing any other Free Agents to help your team. How do you explain this move?" GM BrurnNChinn: "Bill O'Brien is my hero."
  2. The Raiders are a bad Franchise because of bad choices like you're pointing out with Carr. I don't think they'd take Teddy though, which means we're stuck. Not saying I wouldn't do it if they would, I was just simply pointing out the reality of being stuck with Teddy at the moment.
  3. Yes, which proves you're an idiot. Nothing like adding an enormous salary cap hit to your bottom line, and then bringing in another veteran which will give you another big contract, on top of bringing in a rookie who will replace him. All done for spite, which leaves us without our best offensive linemen, who just so happens to be a tackle, and ensures we also lose an explosive WR. Are you sure you weren't a previous General Manager for the Lions? Cause you super dumb! Yep, I said he'd be serviceable and he'd be a great teacher for a young rookie QB we'd bring into replace him. Missed on the first part, but if we bring it a rookie, I won't be about the 2nd.
  4. I disagree, Ryan is going to be 37 next year, and there window is closed until he's probably 40 or 41. 37 is around the age QBs retire that aren't named Drew Brees and Tom Brady. The Falcons are in perfect position to get their next QB without having to move at all in the draft.
  5. Agreed, and it's pretty frustrating because Watson is incredible. I'd love to see him go the Colts honestly.
  6. Honestly I'm not sure about him. I think you can find a Derek Carr in the draft, with a few less years on them and on a rookie contract. I wouldn't mind kicking the tires on him either, but I don't think it's in the cards with Teddy's contract.
  7. For sure, and I hated Herbert last year because I thought it was smoke. Happily eat crow over that one.
  8. This is exactly why the focus should be on team building instead of shooting the moon. You don't want to get your guy and be a 0-16 quality team. Your rookie contract for your QB is a great initial Super Bowl window.
  9. Seems like a really lousy investment. We wouldn't be able to resign Moton or Samuels at that point, and we'd have 2 pricey QBs on our roster plus Newman. I'd rather just draft Newman and let him start or sit and learn than bring in another vet QB for no reason on top of drafting him.
  10. I like Kiper as an evaluator of talent, but not as a mock guy. I think we're in a very difficult position, because more than likely Lance is going to be the only guy close to us at 8, and there are a lot of thirsty teams this year. I just don't think we have the talent to compete with those thirsty teams in draft capital with as thin a we are talent wise. I'm really intrigued by Lance, but only if we can get him (or Wilson) at 8.
  11. That's why I think trading up this year is a trap. It's going to take an awful lot of muscle to get higher in this draft with so many other teams competing for these guys. The overpay is going to be crazy, and we have too many holes for that.
  12. This and Kelce and you've got a Top 10 NFL offense easy with the right QB in the draft.
  13. Stafford only makes sense if you can "win now." And sense this isn't Madden, Stafford isn't going to do anything other than waste our draft picks and severely shrink our "Super Bowl window" with our current core of young talent.
  14. Ah yes, an aging veteran on the wrong side of 30, with an injury history, and declining stats. Worked out so well for us with Okung, and countless other players, why not give Stafford a try and sink the Franchise 3 years further into the "rebuilding" muck. Hurney is that you?
  15. I feel like it was a nod to Wilson and Lance, either of which I would be okay with.
  16. There's certainly guys that are elite outside of the top 16-18, but I also think there are guys who play elite because they're put in the correct system and situations, and can play above their head.
  17. We'll disagree on the coaching staff part, but I just kept waiting for the light to come on and it just didn't. I don't fully understand it, because I don't remember him being quite that quick to check down in years past. Look at him in Minnesota for instance.
  18. Basically how I feel about Jones. He went from Zero to Hero on draft boards after winning the NC game. He certainly looked sharp, and made a lot of good throws, but his mobility is a huge concern, and what he can do outside of that talent around him.
  19. As long as we DRAFT a QB, and not trade for one (not named Watson) I'm good.
  20. Yeah Fields scares me a lot. It's like he has an "on and off switch" he has no control over. I think he wouldn't get as much hype if he was at a smaller school and be clearly behind Wilson.
  21. Absolutely. I've been a Panthers fan since Linville and some of these guys were back on the Scout.com message boards with me. I've got nothing to hide. As I've said above, after this season I don't think Teddy can be the guy. I kind of hoped he could be, but I no longer think so. With all that said, he doesn't deserve some of the other the top criticism about who he is as a person either.
