  1. Great backup QB, sure. But I don't think he's a great option as a bridge starter. Prefer Fitzpatrick of available QBs. But it'll almost certainly just be Sam, or hope that Corral wins the starting job. If we plan on just handing Corral game 1 start then I'd consider bringing in Foles to back him up and mentor him and just release Sam. But I wouldn't want Foles starting for us.
  2. Lol so many scrubs and no Slavin on that list. Aho top 10 is good though
  3. What a fuging game. Living in Boston, can't even tell you how satisfying it'll be if we can finally overcome the refs and Boston bullshit and beat these sons of bitches. Need to carry over this momentum to Wednesday.
  4. Glad to hear it. See what McAdoo can do with a young QB. He did a phenomenal job with Eli past his prime, got the 2 best seasons of his career out of him. If it doesn’t work out, we didn’t waste much draft capital on taking a shot on a QB and Rhule and McAdoo will be gone in time anyways. If it does work out, great, we’ll be good again.
  5. So cool that the stars aligned for us to get him. Best LT in the draft who wasn’t expected to fall to us and just so happens he’s a local kid and lifelong Panthers fan.
  6. I liked him too but he’s as much of a project as Willis but without the mobility upside. He is definitely mobile and has as strong of an arm as you can ask for which is awesome. I’m pumped about this pick, something to get truly excited about at the QB position for the first time in years. Not getting my hopes up on him contributing this year though.
  7. Rider won’t do poo in Atlanta . Go get Willis or Howell Fitts
  8. I’m convinced the teams are colluding against these QBs
  9. I don’t see the issue. This isn’t a Teddy or Sam 2.0 situation. He won’t cost us anything, Browns willing to pay part of his salary. Mayfield isn’t great but he has led a team to the playoffs and had some success. As a 1 year stopgap behind this OL and with our weapons he can have some success. If we can also get Howell to sit behind him a year or two that would be phenomenal.
  10. 2 local kids to bring excitement to the team, makes sense. I like his upside in these rounds and would be very happy to get him depending what we have to give up.
  11. Phew glad he only called out Panthers Twitter and not the Huddle
  12. OTC does show it. Year 2 (well year 3, but I mean 2023) is shown and doesn't change when choosing pre or post June 1st trade. What you described is how most contracts work when I look at them on there like that but seemingly not this one for some reason.
  13. Interesting... Usually the only change in pre vs. post June is the dead cap hit being able to be spread out further versus counting this year, but OTC shows that it's actually a $10M difference in total dead cap if we wait until post June 1st. Basically we can't get rid of him until after June 1st or we're needlessly wasting $10M in cap space. We could trade future picks to get our QB today and then recoup some of them by trading Robby post June 1st but yeah that aspect of his contract definitely complicates a trade tonight.
  14. He's gone whether it's a trade tonight, later or a straight up release. Hopefully we can get reasonable value for him and get some ammo to get Howell or Willis tonight.
  15. Pretty sure Hurney and Brady were behind the Teddy signing. Darnold may have been Rhule. PJ was 100% Rhule but he's also just a fringe roster guy and hasn't been "the answer" at QB or costing much at all so I don't have much issues with having PJ on the back end of our roster. He was a better backup than Grier anyways. Really good point on your second paragraph. We already have pretty much known we're done with Sam based on reports all offseason and especially the Watson fiasco, but this definitely is another tell suggesting this is the case. I really suspect come week 1 Darnold won't be on our roster and Baker or Jimmy G will be.
  16. Yeah a far cry from 2017 for them. Penning is solid but is likely a big downgrade on Armstead (cheaper, yes). Olave makes no sense at all for them.

I think Robby has more value than we think. He was bad last year, yes. But the dude put up 1000 yards with Teddy B and had some really good years with the Jets' trash QBs. I think he could go to KC or GB with those QBs and offenses and put up 1200+ yards. A trade with one of those teams makes a lot of sense for both sides after neither got any WRs yesterday.
  18. Agree on Rhule. McAdoo I actually like as an OC and potential QB developer. He got the absolute most out of Eli who had his 2 best seasons of his career under him despite being past his prime then too. But yeah coaching staffs can change so quickly. Having an elite OL like it seems we may have and a QB with a ton of potential like Howell can also help us entice a better HC to consider us if (once?) Rhule is gone.
  19. I know earlier in the offseason you didn't want Howell to Panthers because we'd be a bad situation for him. How do you feel after Ekwonu pick and the other FA OL signings? (and some other signs of trending in the right direction, though still a ton of concerns). I'm kinda getting on the Howell train at this point, especially if we can get him in the 3rd and not trading too much to jump back in. I like Willis a bit more but I suspect he goes in the next 5-10 picks and we won't trade enough to get him there.
  20. not many but I thought I saw some people upset "we took a guard" that high. I completely disagree but there were non-Panthers analysts out there pre-draft who thought Ekwonu fit better as a guard. That's the only real concern I could possibly imagine regarding this pick. Or those who desperately wanted one of these (bad) QBs...
