Well we won 5 games and it took the worst defense in NFL history to do that. IF we can stay relatively healthy and Bryce plays just like he did (not even saying better) after the benching you could arguably debate 9-10 wins. I wouldn't hold my breath but I wouldn't be shocked. The defensive improvement should be remarkable actually. Same corners, new dline, DB's return, updated safeties, same LB's ...+ the Dline's improvement should make every position about 25% better. If that's good enough to stop atleast 2 touchdowns more than we were able to last season then yea we're about to suprise alot of people imho.

Prospects of interest going into day three
ColumbusCounty replied to Icege's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'd rate Chris Paul Jr, Stutsman and Barrett Carter upgrades over Wallace coming out. However, Wallace has more upside than all three. -

Tony Pauline: Patriots taking LB Jalon Walker @4
ColumbusCounty replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I just can't see them ignoring the tackle problem. Lately I've been wondering what Morgan would do if both Graham and Walker were available. -
Wth.. was really hoping he'd be targeted by us...not so much now.

It is Quiet...Too Quiet: Thanks Dilworth Neighborhood Grille?
ColumbusCounty replied to MHS831's topic in Carolina Panthers
The S2..lol I haven't heard of that since we drafted Bryce. And side note: If Bryce pans out, their will be no holding back the Tepper's at that point. -
Probably Graham but we've been force fed Walker and Williams so much their starting to grow on everybody, either selection.

Panthers losing another safety
ColumbusCounty replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'm actually surprised we didn't resign him to another one year deal, especially considering we only have two safeties on the roster. But I'm guessing the waiver wire moves last season made this possible... (ie.. Bartholomew, Rhattigan, Evans, etc) -
This!!!!... Just have a feeling we're gearing up for Walker and Skattebo.

Yea idunno... taking into account that last year we picked a raw WR with only 1 year of solid production and an injured running back with our 2 top 50 picks, surely Dan wouldn't use a top 10 pick on a raw developmental player. Sadly I can see it happening.

I'd bet money that's Chubba recording it.

Surtain got a 4 year 96 million dollar contract. And while Horn was a brightspot, we still have the worst defense in the league (with or without). That contract would have to be insanely incentive based..

There is no other Luke. Jalon Walker... would be more of Luvu then Kuechly Imo. I like him as a player just not at 8. About a month ago I had him slotted with the second rounder. I just don't think he's going as early as most.

bP's NEW Video - Panthers 2024 Offensive Highlights
ColumbusCounty replied to bLACKpANTHER's topic in Carolina Panthers
Good vid!!! Hated that song in movies back in the day. Now that I'm older, I like it. -
I'd say its definitely going to be addressed this off-season. We went into the last draft with a roster of RBs including: Chubba, Blackshear, and Miles Sanders. We picked Jonathan Brooks in the second and still signed Rashaad Penny afterwards. Fast forward....One turned into a top 10 back, 1 is injured/out for most if not all the '25 season, 1 retired, 1 will either take a huge paycut or be cut, and the last is a restricted free agent. We brought in Mike Boone as well. Add him to the free agent list also. We need a physical option. Which qualifies: Ashton Jeanty(Boise St): Overall ranked Top 10. Almost 2k yards after contact, 28 tds. Would take our first rounder. My money would be on an NFC East team selecting him. (97.2 PFF run grade) - 121 forced missed tackles. Omarion Hampton(UNC): Ranked everywhere from 20 - 59 overall. Consensus #2 back after Jeanty. He'll be a second rounder. 1,222 Yards after contact w/ 15 tds. (90.5 PFF run grade) - 72 forced missed Tackles Kaleb Johnson(Iowa): Ranked from 38 - 69 depending on which media outlet you prefer but generally #3. 2nd/3rd possibly. 1,060 Yards after contact w/ 21 tds.(86.7 PFF run grade)- 66 forced missed tackles Cam Skattebo: Ranked from the 50's - 104. Every mock I do he ends up BPA at some point. 969 Yards after contact w/ 17 tds(92 PFF Run Grade). Probably the best receiving back of the group. 81 forced missed tackles. If the '24 and '25 draft classes were combined, IMO the rankings would be, in order: Jeanty, Hampton, Brooks, Johnson, Skattebo. I wouldn't take one high but I'd take one for Chubba and Brooks insurance.

BH's Big Board/Top-40ish Prospects (long write-up FYI)
ColumbusCounty replied to Bear Hands's topic in Carolina Panthers
Another name at Edge, Jared Ivey. Another small school high production name: David Walker That said, if we needed a defensive draft, this is the one. And as far as Safety, we could grab 2 Dlineman and still be in a position in the 3rd to pick Emanworri, Winston Jr, Latham or Mukubu. At ILB I still kinda like Barrett Carter. Small but explosive. Good write up. -
It depends on how true they are to BPA. Is our philosophy BPA 100% or BPA at aposition need? I'd hope the latter but this place is going to flip out when Morgan chooses Jeanty lol.

I can't be the only one thinking Walker might be there in the 2nd. Talented player but this 8 talk is a little too rich for my blood.

Pete Carroll to Raiders per Fox
ColumbusCounty replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
Mike Tomlin, Andy Reid, and Carroll forsure. Possible: McDaniels. -
ESPN: Panthers like LB Jalon Walker
ColumbusCounty replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yea we like him all 32 teams should. He's ranked everywhere from 11 to 52 right now. If this is the target hopefully we can trade down with San Fran and get another 2nd or their 3rd and 4th for pick 11. -
I'd be interested in is Sweat and possibly Reid. But if this was the waiver wire I'm picking up Williams and Uche. Still amazes me that we were the worst team defensively + #1 on the waiver list with a below average roster and that only netted us some ST aces and a couple corners. Maybe I'm missing something.

This. !!! I'd say puttem all back in 4-3 !!! ... And I don't ever wanna see Clowney dropping back in coverage again. Switch 4-3 and target 3 starters: DE, OLB and MLB in free agency. Add a C and WR and we could actually draft BPA on both sides. Considering Dan Morgan is our GM it's kinda wild that I think they underestimated ILB importance. Josey is cool but I always looked at him as a solid backup. Honestly our run defense fell off a cliff the second Luke retired.
