I mean if that’s the case, talk trash about Clemson then. Like I said, most Carolina fans don’t care about App one way or the other and hope App has success. The only Carolina fan that I see in here that’s talking poo is 4Corners and we all know he’s at the other end of the spectrum.

Hell, I’m fine with a competition but it needs to be a true competition, meaning that you could ask 50 people who they think is better and 25 say option A and the other 25 say option B. That wasn’t the case with Mayfield and Darnold and it’s not the case with Bozeman and Elflein… yet somehow Elflein is still getting all the run at center… even after snapping the ball off his ass multiple times last week.

You don’t develop rivalries by matching up with the ‘big boys.’ Until the playoffs expand, App has no chance at the them regardless of how well they play. Hell, even once the playoffs do expand, App’s success is exclusive to them just as Carolina’s success is exclusive to them. When Carolina loses to NC State it sucks because 1) they are right down the road and we’ll hear about it all year and 2) it’s an ACC game. If you would have given me the option of losing to App while also guaranteeing that we’d win our division, I can say I’d be totally fine with that trade. App on the other hand seems so caught up with Carolina that if I gave you guys the same option, you’d rather beat Carolina than win the Sun Belt.

Hahaha for me, I feel like no one hates Wake Forest, one of the most prestigious universities in the state, academically, and they occasionally go through good spells in athletics (though their men’s soccer team seems to have some sustained success). I just feel like no one hates them and they are totally fine with that, I feel like App is kind of the same way, though for some reason, some of their fans want to be hated or have a rivalry with one of the other ACC schools. And for some reason they’ve chosen Carolina, when in reality, Carolina fans don’t care one way or the other about App. I mean the last few posts by App State fans in this thread sound like the bitter and insecure State fans on Pack Pride who care more about Carolina failing than their own school succeeding. I honestly think App, Coastal, Marshall, and JMU could develop some nice rivalries and that’s where their fans’ focus should be.

Looks like today’s upset is the FCS’ Southern Illinois going to Northwestern and waking out with $550K and their first win on of the season.

A win tonight in Chicago and things could get a tad interesting depending on the outcome of other games. No football to interfere, so I’ll be tuning in.

I think they have a great fan base as well, I’d just encourage them not to be like insecure State fans. Be proud of your school and be happy for their success. No reason to be like State fans and compare yourself to Carolina in everything you do.

For me, it has to do with humility. Some of these App State fans (not all) are acting pompous after another nice win against a solid Texas A&M program… but at the end of the day, Carolina beat App in App’s back yard. Does it make us the best team in NC, no, but it definitely means we were better on that day. App fans need to recognize that Carolina fans don’t and will never care about them unless they end up in the the same conference one day… until then, they are just another school in NC that we don’t care about… kind of like Wake Forest. App fans need to have a a little humility instead of the inferiority complex that’s running rampant in this thread. Be thankful for where they are now because it can all change in an instant.

Perfect week for Game Day to go to Boone as this weeks schedule is lackluster to say the least. Its a shame that App isn’t playing JMU, Coastal, or Marshall this week; those games would have been pretty interesting. I have a feeling that App blows out Troy.

Valid argument for sure, but honestly who knows what happens from there. Did we get screwed, absolutely. Were those calls the only reason we lost? Nahhh… At the end of the day, the Browns still had to make a few plays to get into FG range and then make the kick. We didn’t stop them from getting into field goal range or block the kick… so, the Browns won.
