I truly believe that as well. I’d actually even be interested in seeing Campen elevated to interim head coach as he was previously the associate head coach back in 2019 for Cleveland and letting Wilks run the defense his way and McAdoo run the offense his way. All Campen has to do is manage the game and keep track of timeouts while letting Wilks and McAdoo run their sides of the ball how they see fit.

You might have missed the quote but in Rhule’s PC, he was asked why we didn’t see Higgins or TMJ. He answered that we didn’t need to make changes, we just needed to keep battling. That is a dinosaur way of thinking in my opinion and it’s a major issue with this staff. I get they’ve spent all week game planning and they want to make that game plan work, but too often than not, today’s NFL coaches wait entirely too long to make adjustments and in Rhule’s case, he doesn’t make them at all.

Players do have to step up, after all, I can’t blame Rhule for Hubbard fumbling and for Shi Smith dropping passes… but I can certainly blame him for not making changes. Without any sort of changes by the staff, the Panthers had a chance to win today’s game. Just imagine if the Panthers coaches didn’t put Hubbard on kick returns, or if Rhule gave TMJ or Higgins a chance, or if McAdoo didn’t abandon the run in the red zone, or if Snow didn’t drop Burns back into coverage every third down, etc… These players can only be as good as the situation they are put in and as of right now they are being put in shitty situations.

If he gets pulled, which at this point he shouldn’t because this team isn’t making the playoffs so there’s really not a better situation for him to learn in, then Christensen would be the LT. If Rhule trots Cam Erving out on to that field then Mayfield should have him arrested for attempted murder.

Stroud for me, from a statistical point of view, he has a slight edge in accuracy over Young and I think he has the better arm talent. My only knock on Stroud is that I wish he’d use his legs a little more.

If I’m misinterpreting then my apologies, like you, I would like to see more of McCall. However, Rhule has not shown the tendency to deviate when it comes to player management. I think in order for McCall to see a larger role, Roy would have to be out long term.

Rhule left this gem today… Don’t expect a change, just expect the Panthers to continue losing games… but hey, as long as they are battling… moral victories and all.

Because even on the depth chart McCall is behind Roy… so common sense would tell you that if Roy is healthy then no, you won’t see McCall more (like your post stated). Stating that McCall got a couple reps in the first half does nothing to further your argument when in reality, the majority of his reps came in the second half. Don’t get upset with me, get upset with the head coach who has his favorites.

McCall’s snaps were limited at best, they’ll be elevated once the snap counts come out simply because Roy got hurt. But no, he was not seeing as much time as you think he was.
