Agree with this. Mykel is a hard no. If you think you can start converting pressures into sacks for Stewart, I’m all in.
-
I still think Graham might be there when we pick, him measuring below 300 and shorter arms (if I got that right) might be our luck.
-
I’m kind of there as well, he is a little bit smaller than I thought. I still think he’ll be a very good player, but that height makes me a bit hesitant.

The Shemar has no production thing is not true unless you only look at sacks. He’s very disruptive. However he needs to convert more of his pressure in to sacks, though I think that will come. But it’s not like he’s invisible when he’s on the field. I’m intrigued by him overall as an edge in our 3-4. Here’s from Dane Brugler: Stewart explodes out of his stance and is capable of creating immediate knockback or winning high side with upfield burst/flexibility. He is the type of prospect who will test the “traits over production” slogan to which many NFL teams subscribe, as he never had more than 1.5 sacks in any of his three seasons. However, his tape shows a far more disruptive player than his numbers suggest — he led the Aggies in pressures (39) in 2024.

Jalon Walker player comp: Haason Reddick
Martin replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
He had a lot of production in college, I think he had close to 40 QB pressures and a lot of tackles in 2024. His sack total was low, but he had a lot of impact to the game. -
Daniel Jeremiah: Panthers prime trade candidate
Martin replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
You might be right, I’ve just seen a lot about him lately, even being talked about as QB2. I wonder if he is way higher with teams vs. the draft analyst group. Every year there are a few players that come out of nowhere. But it might be a stretch, no doubt -
Daniel Jeremiah: Panthers prime trade candidate

It sounds like QB Tyler Slough is flying up the draft boards, he’s a bit older, but so was Nix, Penix etc. He might, just might, be someone teams want to trade up to get around where we pick -
Fans would not do great in free agency, however sadly a lot of fans would do better than many front offices in the draft by simply using something like Brugler’s draft guide. It is shocking how bad many front offices are in the draft. The overthinking and over analyzing is at its peak.

Not convinced Graham will be gone tbh.

People are weird. Andy is a relatively cheap and very experienced backup. He’s well liked on the team and is a good leader overall. We’re not going to get a second starter challenging Bryce, that is not in the cards for this year.
-
He can say what he wants to, and we can call him out for being a self absorbed ass. The team was bad but there was a lot of guys who gave it their all and knew how to prepare, there just wasn’t enough of them. When he joined the team it was documented that he initially was a poor leader himself, essentially had to be talked to and coached up to become a leader by Thomas Davis. Also, Cam was the one who made one of the biggest business decisions in Panthers history in the Superbowl, while everyone else did everything they could to get that fumble. So this overall is pathetic from him, and very disappointing overall.

This is a super interesting one (if I understand it correctly): LA still wanted him, as they knew about his health, but because it said in the trade agreement he had to pass his physical, the agreement was voided. And since it is passed the trade deadline they weren’t allowed to update the trade agreement. Crazy stuff and a rule that has to be looked at in the off season.

[The Athletic] Panthers big board: Draft options at No. 8
Martin replied to Icege's topic in Carolina Panthers
I thought it was a nice overview, especially for people not as close to college football or message board draft discussions. -
BREAKING: Myles Garrett Requests Trade from CLE
Martin replied to PantherBoy95's topic in Carolina Panthers
If I’m a team like the Bills, this could be a good option to get them over the hump. If it costs 2 1st rounders, it might be worth it to them. -
Everyone Pushing to Draft Yet Another WR Early
Martin replied to RumHam's topic in Carolina Panthers
So are you saying he has no problem getting separation? I’ve never seen him play, so I’m genuinely curious to understand if he can or not on a consistent basis. I’m not interested in if he can overcome it or not. Just looking for a yes or no on this question. -
The purpose of these games and the combine is to confirm what you’ve already seen on tape. Or discover something you missed, good or bad, so you can go back to the tapes to once again confirm. The Greg Little example above was a great example of someone that looked really good on tape, but his poor combine made you go back to make sure you didn’t miss anything. Other players are the opposite. What you can never do is let a combine result overrule what you’ve seen on tape. It is only one more datapoint in the total evaluation.

That’s what I read everywhere, from every reporter and based on history. Would be great of he went to a giant NT, but I think this player in particular is a practice squad one.

This has got to be worst coaching cycle in years
Martin replied to ProcessBlue2's topic in Carolina Panthers
While McCarthy isn’t a very exciting guy, I think he was the best option for the Bears by far. They needed an experienced offensive HC, used to a somewhat messy situation. There is a lot that needs to get done in Chicago that goes way beyond just good play calling. -
The big difference, imo, is that he is a very good sized player that do many things at a very high level. So you don’t have to create a role for him like you had to with Chinn. Walker can already be dropped in to multiple current roles and excel at them.
-
From what I read the offense in year two was extremely predictable and stale, even the players, including Stroud, were complaining about it. He also apparently insisted on the C to do the line calls instead of Stroud. So it looked good on the surface to everyone on the outside, but inside the building a lot of people were unhappy.
-
100 % agree, he would be awesome as a 3-4 end, but I think he might work as a NT as well, so I was curious about other people see it. Just a very impactful player that I think might be there when we pick, but we’ll see.
-
Graham is a bit bigger that the traditional NT Evero likes to use, but he might be a great fit for the traits Evero like at that position. I’m slight intrigued by the idea, and I think Graham might be there when we pick. Jalon Walker is probably my preferred choice, but if Graham is a fit at NT…

Good thing Giants didn’t pay Barkley so they could afford Burns lol
