So... if I'm reading the tea leaves here it sounds like: - If we stay at 8 then it is Mason Graham or Mykel Williams (in that order) - If we trade down in the 1st it would be Mykel Williams, Walter Nolen, or Donovon Ezeiruaku (in that order) Makes sense, I guess. DL or Edge in the 1st is the focus.

Sounds more like the pats want the Panthers to panic and try to move up to four to get Jalon Walker so that they can move back and still get their offensive tackle at 8. I don't buy it.

If true, I think this speaks to the fact that we really have missed Thomas Davis and Luke Kuechly as the vocal leaders on defense. Jalon does everything the right way. He works hard, he plays hard, and he rallies his guys and communicates well.

From what I am seeing these are the locks for teams drafting in the top 10: 1. Ten - Cam Ward 2. Cle - Abdul Carter or Travis Hunter (it will be one of the two, so this close enough to a "lock") 4. NE - Will Campbell (it has been leaked that people in the building are claiming him as "our guy") 5. Jac - Mason Graham 7. Jets - Armand Membou (they want Graham, but he won't be there. Next guy on the board is Membou) The real wild cards are the Giants and the Raiders. No one seems to know exactly what they want to do. I think if Hunter is there for NY they take him, but Carter is not a "need" for them, and they might entertain trades down, but anyone that wants to jump up to 3 would want a QB and that might be too rich for the return for most teams. Would someone trade up for Carter or Hunter? Maybe. But it would need to be a team on the verge of winning a championship to make that move seem logical. The Raiders could go any direction. They need help on both sides of the ball. They won't go QB because of the trade for Geno. With Pete Carroll at the helm, the logical thought is defensive back. Could Starks or Emmanwori go this high? Does Carroll like Will Johnson enough to pick him? Is Jeanty their guy? I think the Panthers spot at 8 has become very attractive. It isn't top 5, so it won't cost as much to trade up into it, and it is right above the Saints, who could be in the QB market, and the Bears, which have been heavily linked to Jeanty. I think if Jeanty is on the board at 8, Jerry Jones won't be able to help himself and will call us. Morgan will likely take the trade, add picks, and still get one of his top guys.

We are returning the same starting OL for the first time in like 10 years, and our offense has struggled to do anything well ever since Cam's shoulder went to poo, but yeah lets trade our most consistent offensive lineman.

Absolutely agree in regards to Shemar Stewart. He plays like the Tasmanian devil. He doesn't seem to attack anything cerebrally, but only relies on his athleticism. He's a scary prospect and one that has been seen before with the likes of Mamula and Vernon Gholston. He just has 10 year vet that bounces around the league written all over him for me. He will continually get chances because he isn't bad but he never puts it all together. Williams seems like a very smart kid and understands what to look for and how to attack it. He just needs to go from diagnosing to execution faster and he will be a great player. He already has great technique.

Brian Burns not being a 10+ sack guy a year and being a run game liability is why we were smart to let him walk. Williams is an asset in the run game Day 1. No question.

I don't doubt that he really likes him, but the question is whether they want him more than Williams. I think a lot hinges on Walkers workout on the 17th, as ridiculous as it sounds. If his workout is pedestrian, he is dropping out of the top 10. If he lights it up, he could go top 5. Because his size isn't ideal, teams will likely want to see that his athleticism makes up for it.

There is a lot to like. He is only 20. He is already strong as an ox. He is a silky mover, especially at his size. My only concerns are his ability to become a 10+ sack guy a year. If you are an edge taken in the top 10, that's the hope. He isn't a hair on fire type of player like Walker. That is what makes Walker jump off the tape. But Williams has very disciplined eyes and rarely takes unnecessary steps/movements. He's more calculated.

I don't think so anymore. I did at one point, but I think they have liked Williams more all along.

Look... I think we all just need to come to terms with the fact we are taking Mykel Williams. There have been multiple insiders that say he is the guy. Same thing happened last year with Legette and the year before with Bryce. This team is anything but unpredictable when it comes to the draft.
