  1. The one justification I can see for not trying the field goal is that the defense is actually performing very well.
  2. I think you're in the wrong thread, dude.
  3. Overall nice first offensive series with just a couple of miscues...
  4. And invariably, every year there are people whose week one "told you sos" wind up looking really dumb by midseason.
  5. Insert Sean Connery saying "Suck it, Trebek"
  6. Stafford is a guy that I would have gotten behind if we made that trade, but I don't necessarily have the highest opinion of him. He's forever been one of those guys that you look at and think he's supposed to be great, but he somehow seems to fall short a lot. And yeah, I know it's hard to judge when he's on the Lions. That's just been my read.
  7. I get that, but again to me that's one of those things that you don't really know until you see them perform against live bullets.
  8. Didn't we have a streak last year where we were like always winning the coin toss?
  9. There are going to be people who will think they know all there is to know based on today's game. These people...are not very smart. Football seasons are marathons where numerous things happen, things go right, things go wrong, and it hardly ever looks the same by season's end. You can hope that most people exercise their wisdom and patience, but you can also pretty much guarantee that a lot of people won't.
  10. Things you see in preseason are never as obvious as you think they are. Heck, Cam Erving actually looked half decent in preseason action. Does that mean we were wrong about him or was it just an illusion? Like I said, we don't know. We'll at least know something later today, but we won't know everything.
  11. Previous reports said three first rounders and a couple of second rounders.
  12. Again, not really. We have things we think we know, but until we see the real action we can't genuinely say we know.
  13. I acknowledge that, hence why I say all the questions won't be answered today. But again, the good news is that we actually have something real.
  14. That's not necessarily a bad thing. If that's the case, it often means you're drafting well.
  15. To be fair, Rivera was just bad at evaluations in general. I've said before I don't have a problem with taking time to ease lower round / undrafted rookies into the pros. You just have to be able to properly judge when they're ready.
