Saw the article but haven't read it yet...

https://www.nfl.com/network/schedule/ Edit: Someone else already looked it up

Like everyone knew that if he wanted Deshaun Watson, he'd get him? I know some people had this godfather type image built up like Tepper could basically have whatever he wants, but again outside of building a practice bubble and hiring an overpaid, underqualified head coach, has he actually gotten much of anything he wants? Right now if anything, he looks like a poser.
-
No, never said McVay wasn't special. Now, if the most impressive thing about him was a Coach of the Year award maybe but he's got way more accomplishments on his resumé than that. As far as Matt Rhule being able to do something similar, yeah I...wouldn't put money on that if I were you
-
Only source I can find saying anything about it is a Northeast Ohio TV guy named Ben Axelrod who speculated that maybe the Browns would look at Kaepernick if Watson is suspsnded. Sure as hell not being reported by Schefter that I've seen...
-
Got a feeling that's fake...
-
I'd say the guy who made a bunch of promises and predictions he couldn't deliver on definitely doesn't come out looking like a winner here.
-
You think if they asked Rhule to recount the formation, opposing defensive alighment / personnel and ensuing action for a random play from seven years ago, he could do it?
-
Yet their final offer is only a million off what Rock Hill said they were owed. Outside of sounding a little petty, it's kinda hard to frame that as some massive victory,
-
Id say it's a little more than "things not going his way". Tepper bragged about giving the Panthers "the best" in every area. This ginormous practice facility was gonna be a big part of that. Yet despite all the braggadocio and such, he couldn't get it done and we're back to practicing on average practice fields in Charlotte and having training camp in Spartanburg, Even if he doesn't take a big financial loss on all this, when it comes to perception and image, there's pretty much no way he doesn't come out of this looking like a loser. Right now, about the only legit claim he can make to improving the team is constructing the bubble over the practice fields.

The Observer and other sources list the total payout as 82 million. Tepper company offers $82 million to resolve claims tied to failed Rock Hill project
-
I looked back at some of the original stories but don't see any mention of future projects. Did see this regarding the lawsuit (link) York County has filed a lawsuit against several of Carolina Panthers owner David Tepper’s organizations and the city of Rock Hill over the “misappropriation” of $21 million in funds tied to the team facility that was under construction in Rock Hill. County leaders allege in the lawsuit the Tepper Defendants “improperly utilized these funds on their failed vanity project, the Carolina Panthers’ headquarters and practice facility.” “Both the City and the Tepper Defendants have harmed York County and its taxpayers, and the County should be made whole,” court documents state. They were seeking 21 million ar rhe time, and the story now says Tepper's company is willing to pay them 20 million. Offering one million less does sound like kind of a 'f--k you' move.

Ouch... Person manages to twist the knife and do a little marketing at the same time
-
So after all the talk about how we were going to have this amazing state-of-the-art practice facility that would be the envy of the league and have a bunch of other neat stuff around it, back to the status quo. No matter how you spin it, that's kind of embarrassing. Definitely not what anybody would call "winning"...
-
Quick note from Field Yates... No fumbles in eight years sure ain't bad...
-
Depends on how you structure the team... The "one highly paid superstar surrounded by a bunch of cheap knockoffs" formula hasn't been all that successful.
-
Could use some buffalo chicken
-
It's not about the suspension... From what I've read, there are a fair number of guys who wouldn't exactly cry if he got his leg broken.
-
They've been back and forth on that...
-
Second one...
-
Objectively speaking, the most successful... Granted, when your list of other contenders consists of a guy that's only been at it for two years and Marty Hurney, it's not exactly like you've got stiff competition.
-
As I recall though, not paying back those things was one of the reasons they filed bankruptcy in the first place. (hence the lawsuits)
-
That'd makes sense, sadly. Hate to hear stuff like that
-
On the heels of the videos where no fans were showing up for camp... Preseason and all but I still feel like David Tepper would have a fit if that were us.

The 80s were a great time to be a teenager though
