It goes back to conversations I had with Falcon fans at the time. Anytime Vick looked bad passing (which was a lot) I heard one of two things: either "it takes X years to learn the West Coast Offense" or "his receivers suck". Once they made the switch to Matt Schaub though, the Falcon receivers suddenly learned to catch a lot better.

Oy Good luck with the Lance narrative, dude. He'll likely be out of the league in a few years. One of several guys whose great athletic traits just didn't translate into great quarterbacking.

How do you explain Brock Purdy? Lance just isn't that good, dude. He might be a solid athlete, but a good quarterback he is not.

Have you forgotten who our head coach was during that draft? As far as Lance, I'd add that if Kyle Shanahan couldn't develop him (and a 7th rounder beat him out) he's not someone I'd have a lot of faith in.

Tepper didn't handpick Reich. The coaching hires was run by Fitterer and Morgan. The guy Tepper reportedly wanted was Ben Johnson.

(I'm a WVU fan, but it's been a while since they were relevant on the national level so I watch a lot of different games. I wouldn't call myself a "bandwagon jumper", but I don't necessarily cheer for any major college team. I just enjoy the game.

Understood though it isn't always on the player. Sometimes it's scheme (like with Joe Brady) other times it can even be the quarterback. Mind you, I wouldn't put it on Young for us, but I'm sure you remember how Michael Vick's Falcon receivers were terrible...until someone else started throwing them the ball.
