One of the phrases new defensive guys who joined the Lions during the Barry Sanders era always heard was "Don't touch Barry!"

Things are getting kinda nteresting down in N'Orleans

That brings up something I meant to ask @ellis John, what's your opinion of Anderson as a WCO receiver? West Coast Offenses certainly do make use of deep threats (Reid used to do it all the time in Philly) but the primary skill set needed is the ability to catch a quick pass and run it for a lot of yards. Pure deep threats tend to work better in a Coryell. Anderson is certainly a deep threat, but have you seen enough of him as a RAC guy to endorse him in our system? Heaven knows his hands were an issue last year. I feel like I've definitely seen him do that before, just not sure if I've seen it enough.

I get all that. I just don't worry too much about it. Hell, if we're so simplistic that a few highlight reels on Twitter can damage us, then I don't think we're that good.

What would it take for you to be a fan of Rhule and Tepper?
Mr. Scot replied to Panthers Fan 69's topic in Carolina Panthers
Tepper: Stepping back and letting the people who are smarter than him when it comes to football make the important decisions. Rhule: Taking a college job at a university I like -
Very cool...

Had a steno pad like that one year. Went through a lot of pages (probably wouldn't have been classified as "environmentally friendly" those years)

I don't think it's personality as much as results. Dan Marino used to cuss and swear and call out everybody. On the other hand, Joe Montana pretty much never lost his cool. I think basically, if you produce results, guys will follow you. If you don't, well...

Hell, last year no spying was needed. Teams that faced as had all our offensive plays figured out by halftime
-
I used to take a notepad and sort everything out later. Once got asked if I was scouting for another team (was wearing a personalized Panthers Jersey at the time) Don't know if they still allow notepads.

Yeah, I saw all that...

Yeah, I don't feel the need for the "competition" at quarterback to continue. Ditto the offensive line. It's time to start building chemistry with the starters.

I meant on our end...

I'm not a fan of the "tinkering" honestly, but I'll wait and see what happens.

No cans of worms among fans in that deal at all, right?

High praise for the O-line

Mitch Trubisky news may not be as good as was thought...

Pre-draft evaluations had this guy pegged as kind of an a--hole. Looks like those were accurate. Mind you, if he produces on the field, most people won't care.

I see Sam to the Rams possibly in the near future...

From what I've seen of him, I'm not sure he's the most durable guy you could find... -

I get everything you're saying, but can't totally agree. First off, if it takes that many tries, especially during a time when you have high draft picks, then there's a pretty good chance you're doing something wrong. Specifically, you may not be very good at evaluating quarterbacks, and chances are the one you "hit on" was more luck than skill. That's not a good thing. As far as Rhule, I can't get on board with "adapting a college program to the NFL" because college and pro football are two very different beasts. Throw in that plenty of coaches (including former Panthers coaches) have shown that it doesn't take five years to build a winner. Now, as yet, no one has built a consistent winner, but to do that you have to first build a team that wins something. Matt Rhule still has yet to even reach that threshold. Bottom Line: Rhule might be a nice guy and a half decent motivator, but his skill set seems way better suited to coaching college kids, and we need a professional coach. -
I got no issue with people getting autographs, especially kids. People getting them just to sell them on the other hand...

Brees used to do stuff like that.

Looking at that cake, I'm not sure whether Fournette is implying that Brady is the Greatest Of All Time or that he's in league with Satan (or is Satan)
