  1. Actually fug it, that would be my fuging go to for the night when possible. Orlov is pulling an extra minute or two after his shift gets off, pull whoever was centering with that change, Orlov just stays high slot area in the zone and plugs down low in our own end. Comes off when the puck moves. Gives our forwards a blow, gives us a chance to let Orlov play loose and aggressive without sacrificing the back end.
  2. Double shifting to cover for Aho, 7 defensemen. Gonna be interesting to see if we just flex the poo out of Orlov.
  3. Did none of them know that it has a direct connotation with the female anatomy? Lol
  4. Who the fug thought it was a good nickname to begin with? Lol
  5. Every October I'm met with the same bullshit west coast schedule due to the fair and every year I inevitably miss games lol. Hopefully they net 3 in the first so I can go to bed knowing we likely didn't blow that lead.
  6. He's played himself into being largely undesirable to any contender. We're looking at bad teams in desperate need of pass rushing potential, if anything. And they're not going to give a first so you're looking at 2s and 3s instead.
  7. Scheme and time. Any deep route we've ran, for the most part, has been a clear out. We're going with a lot of short routes and when those aren't open, the hot read gets it and that tanks your YPC when it's all you ever really have. I think I've seen us run 4 verts twice this season. Both times, nobody with any separation and/or pocket collapsing.
  8. People pretending that throwing a football deep changes from NFL to college. It doesn't. Can touch be exposed? Certainly. As of now, Bryce hasn't had a chance to stand in a clean pocket and throw from a good base. Not even close. Just because Cam was a freak athlete who could sling it while getting hit and falling away doesn't mean that's the standard in the NFL. It isn't. Young has the arm to get it there. His accuracy at the other ranges indicates he can probably hit it if he has an actual chance. Everything else is just noise.
  9. Multiple things can be true. Bryce played poorly. Receivers are subpar. OL is atrocious at protection. Playcalling is awful. Defense is battered and broken. The numbers from PFF are basically a BMI. They are ultimately useless because they don't account for everything relevant.
  10. Pat McAfee is great. His podcast is easier to listen to than most because it's more natural imo. It sounds like what a lot of guys sound like sitting around watching a game or watching SportsCenter. It's just sports talk with the boys. The little in-jokes and recurring bits can be a barrier for newer folks though, so I get how that can just seem obnoxious. The fact that ESPN is trying very hard to now have more McAfee-esque segments is telling. The fact that McAfee was allowed to continue his format after coming to ESPN for the first part of his show and not change anything except for the vulgarity is also telling. Haters gonna hate. He ain't for everybody but to act like it's objectively bad while he pulls numbers most personalities could only dream of is kinda funny.
  11. Well McVay runs a fair amount of jet too, it's arguably the key to his offense. So we have Chark and Sanders and we have Shenault. Any of them could take it but without it hitting for chunks nobody respects it. Because the deep shot off of that is key, and I'm thinking Mingo on that off of the jet. It's about the only option because I don't think anybody else on the roster can do it
  12. 100%. Getting the notice of man and zone will help with his anticipation. The sacks he has been taking look as though he was expecting a thing and not getting it, then panicking like a rookie does. He doesn't have the escapism of others, so his scrambling has to sort of be built in presnap. If he sees pressure is coming from here, he knows where he can escape from. But he's absolutely not an improv guy, though he has tried.
  13. Brown only has to look at the top and see what hasn't worked. Him being a McVay guy gives me hope. He saw what a good offense looks like and how it is ran. Hopefully he carries that over.
  14. Yeah that's a miscalculation you only make it the puck is deep in your end and you feel it is controlled. Then you eat the empty netter if they are able to fight it out but you don't try to pull until that puck is in. Feel like that was an oddly timed one in that scenario.
  15. We looked bad. Just lower energy than the Ducks. Transition game is still our biggest issue, and getting outworked on top of that absolutely kills you.
  16. Remember what I said about us not being so predictable on the PP as "work it deep, up to point, looking for right circle shot into traffic"? Here we are.
  17. I think Raanta being in will benefit our dmen, particularly Orlov who knows he needs to ingratiate himself to all of our goalies. Plus Raanta has a chance to prove he can split more of the load which would obviously benefit Freddie and the team as a whole. Keep out of the box, stop letting the opponent have great chances in transition and we'll be fine.
  18. Nonsense. We had Julius Peppers who....left and went elsewhere. But we also had Steve Smith who...left and played somewhere else. And we had Double Trouble, and THEY...each left and played somewhere else. And then we did have Luke who...retired early but absolutely could've played somewhere else. And then DJ Moore and CMC....who.... y'know I see a pattern.
  19. That being said our PP is small and weak and until we find some Blue Chew or Hims, we're going to suffer from dysfunction and ultimately be dissatisfying.
  20. The main board has needed a cleaning for a long time. Tbh, axe the tinderbox, axe the personal insults over sports posters, and set it up so that we can actually talk sports and not just overreactions at every post.
  21. @Zodsaw us having too much fun in here, enjoying a good team that is starting the season strong. He will have none of that joy here.
  22. I just want to see Bryce hit over the top once.
  23. Would be great except my kids really hate going to bed suddenly because toddlers are absolute maniacs at bed time so I'll be able to sit and watch around midway in the third lol
