Who has been the best post-Cam Panthers QB?
kungfoodude replied to TNPanther's topic in Carolina Panthers
This seems like the obvious answer. I can't believe anyone seriously said anyone else. Some of our fans are....special. -
Maybe you missed it, but this is an NFL forum and we have existing college football threads. Most of us care about who is declaring, not inter-college transfers.
-
The Darnold Defense League is perplexing. I don't understand hitching your wagon to that one. What a small and insignificant hill to die on.
-
Not at all. They are #1 in the draft. I hope he completely turns them around for pretty obvious reasons.
-
If he goes to Houston, I hope he's a fuging stud.

Anthony Richardson declares for the draft
kungfoodude replied to Ricky Spanish's topic in Carolina Panthers
Well we are tracking pretty heavily towards the 1999-2017 Cleveland Browns and that is about as Cleveland Browns of a pick as I can imagine. It is pretty much on brand, TBQH. -
I mean, basically all our QB performances save one from PJ this season have been pretty sad. I am not saying any of these guys are good but the similar results across the board makes me believe the real problem is obviously McAdoo. But all of those QB's still suck.

Anthony Richardson declares for the draft

His bust factor is absolutely astronomical. It will be interesting to see this play out. -
Beat me too it.
-
You really want to compare a Kyle Shanahan offense to a Ben McAdoo offense? I really doubt Brock Purdy is gonna come in here and tear it up like that(which it wasn't really that stellar of a performance) in this offense.
-
No, he definitely isn't. I doubt it happens because the coaching staff knows they need to keep the ball out of his hands as much as possible.
-
Top two on the podium!!! Sam could make it a sweep!!
-
Well that may be a train wreck in short order. WTF was he thinking?
-
You know, if it is just doing him a solid, I like that. Helps our rep with future FA's to have an amicable parting.
-
Seems suspicious. Maybe we have some backdoor deal with San Fran. If they pick him up, let the conspiracy theories begin.
-
Yeah, you were preaching it the entire time. In hindsight, you couldn't have been more right. There is another thing we have to really hope Fitterer wasn't responsible for, flushing all those supplemental picks we could have had.

Report: Teams are doing homework on Jim Harbaugh
kungfoodude replied to WarPanthers89's topic in Carolina Panthers
Oh, if he wins a NC this season his new contract might be something that would make most NFL teams pause. -
Draft prospects other than QB
kungfoodude replied to DaveThePanther2008's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yeah but it's very rare any of those guys ever pan out. That's why so many teams don't draft that kind of prospect in the first round anymore. I am not against taking him but definitely not in the first round. -

I genuinely don't understand the Richardson fanboys. How are you not seeing that he isn't good at all the things that a QB needs to do? I mean, Justin Jefferson would probably be an amazing QB too if he could play the position. -

I definitely don't believe the draft process will be as kind to Richardson as some think but you are 100% correct that we will go QB. I am just not seeing a scenario where we opt to not take a QB in the first. Not a logical option anyway. -
Hard to say. Andrew Luck returned when he would have been the #1 overall pick. Unless Penix decides to spill the beans, we are just left to speculate and take him off our personal mock draft boards and QB rankings for 2023.

Report: Teams are doing homework on Jim Harbaugh
kungfoodude replied to WarPanthers89's topic in Carolina Panthers
Well he flirted with the Vikings last year and his buyout is very low. Make no mistake, it is just a matter of time before he is back in the NFL and his contract at Michigan was structured to make that happen. He just happens to have the luxury of being able to be pretty picky. -
That is what I mean, maybe he didn't get the info that he would be an early pick. Also, remember that risk is less with the NIL. Insurance policies for athletes have always existed, so they have that protection but now they have the ability to add some potentially serious cash in their pockets in college, as well.
-
Or he did have good information, hence why he returned.

This is the classic fan mistake. One game does not a career make. A few games does not a career make. Panther fans seem to be particularly susceptible to this in our post Cam Newton QB desert. Will Grier, Kyle Allen, Taylor Heinickie, Teddy Bridgewater, Sam Darnold, PJ Walker, Baker Mayfield, Matt Corral.....people keep prematurely jumping on these bandwagons in desperation.
