It would be a very Panthers move to take a super deep position with questionable elite talent in the top 10.

We are a fuging mess. I very much regret the trades we have made. They have thoroughly backfired.

Green is a candidate to go 1st round, TBH. Combine will have an impact.

I am going to say something around $3 mil. $10 mil is absolutely bonkers. Not sure you saw that recent ESPN breakdown of the offensive free agents but they had him in the $1-2 million tier for OL(Tier 6).
-
No, it's mainly just poor evaluation. The league's elite TE's are are heavily represented by non-1st round players. In a draft where TE is so deep, I would say TE at 8 is unwise because there doesn't seem to be a truly elite guy. I feel the same about DE/Edge.
-
You think he will get $8 mil????
-
I think most Panther fans are going to quickly see that retaining BC is likely to be pretty easy. I would make a hefty wager that he will end up with a far smaller deal that Corbett does.
-
Winslow was worth a top 10??? He is right, the history of top 10 TE's is pretty bad.
-
This is also one of the deepest positions in this draft, so unless he is Bowers 2.0, it's probably a bad pick. There has to be no question he is an elite TE. Otherwise you look as foolish as Atlanta did with Pitts.

If things go well, this is still a multi-year rebuild. Fans need to dissuade themselves of the notion of next season being some miraculous turnaround. This is a long term project because of how devastating the roster deconstruction was.

I don't think any of these guys are top 10 guys. That's a reach, IMO. It's a very deep TE class, so that doesn't seem wise. Warren is a trade down option, IMO
-
I will say that if we want to assist the offense, adding a high level pass catching TE threat like Fannin Jr. or Elijah Arroyo is a good idea.
-
I have been saying if McMillian was there at 8 I would take him for weeks. Higgins is the better option but he really has little reason to want to come here unless we are willing to outbid the entire rest of the NFL.
-
There will be guys available in the top 60 of the draft that can help. You never know, perhaps McMillian drops to 8 and the matter takes care of itself. Or make a good FA signing(more likely).

Draft BPA.

Garrett specifically wanted to go to a contending team. We are the exact opposite of that.
-
I hope we have some idea about general offseason direction after that.
-
Well the response was to the "physical abilities" and a good portion of those guys listed were incredibly physically talented. Arm talent is a physical ability.

Daniel Jeremiah: Panthers prime trade candidate
kungfoodude replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
IDK. I don't think that is the case. The scuttlebutt seems to be that this is a very, very bad QB draft outside the top two guys. -
Corbett is also just not a center. I will never understand the thought process with that move overall. Admittedly, he was better than expected. I really thought it was going to be a disaster. Knowing this is all void years left, I just don't see much justification keeping Corbett. We have our answers at OG and he doesn't make sense as a backup unless he is planning on taking a VERY team friendly deal. Make some FA moves and draft moves and try to get an upgrade at C and some more depth alongside the current guys.
-
I didn't see that 2025 was a void year. Oof. Yeah, we are in a rough spot there. We picked poorly on an injured guy to play Saints cap tricks.
-
The only savings we would get are post June 1 designation. It will be interesting to see what they decide to do. I suspect we restructure and keep him as C #1.
-
Sure Corbett is better than Zavala or Mays but what does that matter if he is on IR? Zavala and Mays are at least available. Corbett would be nice depth but he also has to be comfortable being a backup, which he may not want. Additionally, we have so much invested at OG that it really makes very little sense to have an expensive OG backup, as well. If he isn't in the cards at center, there isn't really a reason to keep him around.
