Maybe this has been covered but Dan Patrick told me this morning that if this gets appealed Goodell is effectively the appeals judge. This could change dramatically.

It's not a bad time to be a fan. In that this team has been pretty horrible for five years but we have a bunch of shiny new talent. Namely: LT QB CB If all these pan out and our RB stays healthy we are a playoff team. Big IF.

People and entities do actually settle when they haven't done anything wrong. And we will likely never know the details.
