and the arbiter will take his agreement with Nebraska and the fact that his salary is heavily deferred to the later years of his contract into accountant. Also, if his contract with Nebraska is full guaranteed I don't see him winning anything other than the difference between what he would have made in his last season as Panthers coach vs. what he will be making or is guaranteed at Nebraska. Rhule probably thinks Tepper will just cut him a deal for a few million. It's a scumbag move, but the rich only want to be richer.

@WelshPanther Your range of emotions in this thread is hilarious! Gotta keep the faith brother!

Wilks wasn't considered for any other HC positions that are open. He isn't seen as a HC anywhere else in the league. I really wish him the best, but I think he's more suited as either a DC (which I still question) or an Assistant Head Coach. Reich isn't a sexy hire, but I will support him and hope he puts together a really good staff.

I understand the whole appeal of attending an outdoor hockey game, especially in NC; but I can't say I would want to sit in the nosebleeds or really anywhere I couldn't see the action well. It will be interesting to see if NC can get one of those upper 60 / low 70 degree February days!

Reserve a slice for me. Although the memes are good!

Let's enjoy our W tonight and not look or think too far ahead....I don't want to go to sleep thinking about all that!
-
Yeah, as long as Necas keeps playing like this. If Jarvis levels off that may help us a little. A "prove it" bridge deal for him??
-
Alright, everyone give each other some victory pie. Talk to you next game hopefully!
-
Necas really bringing it this year. He has the potential to be right up there with Aho and Svech. His skating and ice vision are very, very good and it looks like he has really worked on his shot too!
-
I am calling Aho.... Baiting my hook right now!
-
Svech had that shot, good save by their goalie. Glad to have those posts backing up Raanta!
-
Damn, Raanta got a stick to the neck. Hope he is OK, I feel like we'll hear something tomorrow about him having a concussion (upper body injury) and we'll have Kooch and ???
-
Keep trashing a select few of our guys. Svech, maybe add Jarvis in there, and keep Raanta going. We need a regulation win!!
-
alright time for another shawty.

Wow: wash, rinse, repeat for Freddie. The dude just can't stay healthy. Goalie issues are (apologies to Patches) our Achilles Heel. We aren't going far if we don't have an answer. Raanta is not he answer, I think Kooch still has some growing to do. Is there a goalie out there on the trade block that is any better? I feel bad for this team TBH even though we are having a good season. Kase out LTIR in what, less than 10 games? We were all excited for Patches and he had to have achilles surgery, he rehabs and gets back on the ice and BOOM less than 10 games in he's LTIR. Freddie hurt for a good while, comes back and looks good and less than 10 games he's hurt again. Can we please catch a break oh Hockey Gods??

Sauce plays for the Jets.

I made up my mind about Wilks due to the fact that the defense got worse when he became head coach and that disaster of a game against TB. You cannot let a 2nd string secondary get beat deep so often and NOT make adjustments. You also can't be so conservative on 4th and 1 at midfield in a make or break game. His decision making isn't great and the comparisons to Rivera are warranted in a lot of ways.
-
Surprised they are saying Wilks and Reich are the final two. I think the Panthers really wanted Johnson and now here we are. I have always said I like Wilks. He's a standup guy and a good leader, but I don't love him as HC. If we are going to hire Wilks, I'd rather wait and interview Ryans. There's no reason not to if you are going with a defensive HC. Reich may be OK, hopefully our offense will get better. Curious to see what his staff would look like and what does he do without a very good option at QB, a very weak TE room, and WRs that are unproven (not DJ although he needs to stay engaged an entire season).

Bally Sports Close to Bankruptcy
Rocky Davis replied to Panthers Fan 69's topic in Carolina Hurricanes
Technically yes, but definitely not on the business side. Fox could negotiate much better than Sinclair/Bally ever has. Also, Fox wasn't trying to get blood from a stone in their deals. Sure, they made sure to be profitable but unlike Sinclair they weren't vampires. -

EPSN The Ocho Bold move there Cotton!! Seriously though, it depends on what kind of bankruptcy Bally is looking at. Reorganization would keep them around probably, but it probably makes more sense to just fade away and sell. I just don't know who they would sell to though - the leagues may buy the rights to the teams involved (although that's a conflict of interest) and then offer the franchises the ability to broadcast their own games. That may be the most profitable way forward for regional sports. -
Yep, the tendon rolls right up next to the calf and there's an intense burning sensation. As soon as I saw him grab the back of his leg there I was like "oh no."

Pacioretty Placed On IR With Torn Achilles
Rocky Davis replied to MillionDollarCam's topic in Carolina Hurricanes
You don't rush back from an Achilles tear, and really unless you are very young it's never quit as strong as it was. I didn't want to rush Patches back because of it and was shocked he was already skating as early as he was. I feel terrible for him and the team. I hope he's able to continue his career if he wants to, but man this is a gut punch. Get well soon Patches! -
Per Kevin Weeks, Kochetkov Is Headed Back To Chicago
Rocky Davis replied to MillionDollarCam's topic in Carolina Hurricanes
Koochie probably wasn't thrilled about our guys not being able to clear the puck out of our zone at the end of the game yesterday. That being said, him going off a little shows he needs to mature a little bit more. I hope Andersen is 100% (110% would be even better) and can make a return to last season's form and not the form he was showing earlier this year. If it's the latter we should all be concerned and realistic about the Canes' chances come playoff time. -
We won't claim him - the only way he's coming back is if he passes completely through waivers and Detroit outright releases him. The Canes made the right call, Ned took a chance on himself and didn't think that the D he had in front of him was a big reason for his success.
