DB has been one of the highest overpaid positions in all of football. Considering what the best get, that is chump change. Don't you just LOVE the modern NFL?

Panthers founder Jerry Richardson passes away at 86
pantherclaw replied to mcsmoak's topic in Carolina Panthers
Jerry Richardson is indeed a Legend. A man whom fought hard to bring a this team to the Carolinas. I am eternally grateful, and pray for his family at this time of mourning. God Blesss -
Carr is looking for a team to compete with for a championship. This means, stop arguing his contract, if he wants to be here, and the front office wants him to be here. He will absolutely be here. I know in today's NFL where the rookies just play because of stupidity is the norm. Nevermind that it's just better to have a vet that can not just lead, but win now, while the drafted QB, rides the pine. For what Tepper, and this coaching staff was hired for - ie, sustained winning every season - then you folks better get use to the idea of the team doing something you may not care for.

At a cost the team deems acceptable.

Todd McShay seems to really like Anthony Richardson

All the top QB's can bust. AR at 8 wouldn't even be close to the dumbest thing thus franchise has done. Sean Gilbert, will probably hold that title forever. -
At the age of 10 years old, back in the 1980's, I understood that the NFL stood for, "not for long." It's that way because it is a very physical and brutal game. As close as we get as to a modern day gladiators. Everybody knows the risks in volved. It is the very nature of the beast/game. You sign up, you sign up for it all. The good, and the bad.

Frank Reich's and Jim Caldwell's interviews from today
pantherclaw replied to jayboogieman's topic in Carolina Panthers
Jim Caldwell is so at peace with where he is at this point in his life. His knowledge is going to pay dividends. Frank needs some sleep! -
Would you trade 9 for Fields - straight up?
pantherclaw replied to musicman's topic in Carolina Panthers
Not saying they wouldn't find teams interested, just not sure who'd give up a top 10 pic for him. Perhaps I'm not seeing his value correctly, but thus is my perspective until I actually see any team willing to trade a top 10 pic for 2 years of a rookie contract. -

Why would you assume I'm mad? Smh. -
Would you trade 9 for Fields - straight up?
pantherclaw replied to musicman's topic in Carolina Panthers
Sweet hyper bull. I'm not going to declare Fields the next anything, because it's clear he still has a ways to go. While you may still be all over his jock, I'm not sure that our head coach would even consider him. -

I would like to know who is lining up to trade for Fields? I'm not sure the Bears will get what they want for him. -
Poll: What do you want Panthers to do for QB?
pantherclaw replied to NAS's topic in Carolina Panthers
No argument from me. -
So you're suggesting Frank was too stupid the recognize the talent that was already on staff. Lol

We have our coaches. What schemes will we run?
pantherclaw replied to Cam's New Arm's topic in Carolina Panthers
I saw this subject and started laughing. February football. -
Head coach fills his staff. Pretty simple.

There is simply no reason to state this. You just make assumptions. Let the poo go, and move on already.

Poll: What do you want Panthers to do for QB?

It REALLY depends on free agency. How well can the team add kep components and weapons via free agency. There isn't a lot of money to work with, but they certainly can add with a few Shrewd moves. I really don't feel any QB in this draft is worth trading up to 3 or above for. If they want to compete this season, which I absolutely believe they want to, then they will aquire a competent veteran QB, and add talent through the draft. If one of the top 4 QBs is there at 9, I really won't be upset if they draft him. If they go the veteran QBBroute, then they absolutely have to add weapons and talent to both sides of the ball. I do trust in this staff. So whatever they decide to do, I'm going to be cheering them on.
