Haven't read the thread. Just offering up my opinion. Sam has the talent to be a good starting QB in this league. He's been hosed by 2 different teams. I can't blame him for taking the opportunity in San Fran. He may not be able to hold off Purdy once he's healthy, but he certainly has a good opportunity to resurrect his career. At the very least, extend it.

I appreciate all the work your doing that actually supports what I've been saying.

Agreed, but I'll also add the health of any QB is a concern. How many bigger guys did we start last season alone, due to injury? Health will always be a concern.

Flutie played in the NFL also. So whom doesn't know what he's talking about? Fact is, Flutie had a very LONG career as a pro QB. Winning multiple championships in Canada, before finally given an opportunity in the NFL. Spi. That how you want, he was 5'10, 180lbs, and had a long healthy pro career.

Opportunity. Plus the ones like Johnny Football were just great pieces of trash. I'm not arguing I'd prefer a smaller QB, but I think most of you whom are arguing about his size, are ignoring the talent and natural leader he is. Not all QBs are that way. In fact, most of the greats don't have protypical size.

You and I both know it has less to do with the size of the player, and more of how they play. When it comes to quarterbacks, I don't care how big they are, they won't survive behind a bad line. If you were to hold a gun to my head and ask me to choose, I'd say whichever is going to have the greater career, and win the most championships. Which really means, I don't know, but I trust in our guys.

I certainly have no idea. Maybe they'll draft Anderson , then come back for Hooker!

Lol. I'm not saying that. Just making a case that a smaller framed QB can have a long career. Youngs traits I'd argue is even greater than Flutie.

Flutie had no choice. His NFL stats were still 15k yards and 92 TD's. My point, was and still is, a small frame can have a long career.

I combined his stats from both leagues. Obviously he was more prolific in the Canadian league. While you and others can nick pick all you want, it proves that a player that size can stay healthy.

56,070 yards and 362 TDs.

Doug Flutie was 5'10 and 180lbs His pro career was exceptional.

Here are the stats of a pro football qb that was only 5'10 and 180 lbs. Throwing for a total of 56,070 yards and 362 TDs. Pretty damn good career.

He was a question mark to be able to play a full season anyway. Am happy he is trying to resolve the issue. That's important.

I think I was for Young in the beginning. Now, I'm totally fine with either one.
