First off, I'd like to say that in regards to my drunken rage yesterday I have... Second, here are some more sober thoughts about yesterday's loss. Momentum, I believe in it. Young teams are especially susceptible to it, both positive and negative. This is why those many blown calls in the first half were so detrimental. It's not just about the score. Sam Darnold, I believe in him. Sam has played the best football from the QB position since 2015. The Panthers must find a way to protect him and give him more time or else I fear soon he may regress to a green uniform. Chuba Hubbard showed a lot of promise and settled my mind about the backup RB spot. He is good enough for this team to win with. Run defense was pretty bad yesterday, but it happens. Until it happens again I am not even going to worry about it. All of our best defenses had occasional breakdowns like that from time to time. What I keep coming back to is how that felt like a Ron Rivera 45-7 blowout loss on the road. But Rhule kept the guys playing hard and kept it relatively close. That is encouraging.
