If the Saints get Derek Carr, the rest of the NFC South will probably be playing for send place in the division.
-
They certainly seemed tired at times.

I feel very strongly about this... Derek Carr.
KatsAzz replied to Proudiddy's topic in Carolina Panthers
The Panthers should be a solid destination for QB Derek Carr, something I could live with as they’ll have Frank Reich an offensive-minded coach and Tepper, an owner who has shown he isn’t afraid to spend money. The Panthers roster itself has some nice offensive weapons in D.J. Moore, Terrence Marshall Jr., and D’Onta Foreman and with a QB like Carr, should be able to win the NFC South Division. -
NFL Scouts are reporting that Anthony Richardson's pocket awareness is improving all the time and are impressed by his absolute cannon of an arm that can hopefully become more accurate with additional games. Richardson has more upside than most. But if the Panthers went in his direction, then giving him adequate time to refine his skills is essential rather than throwing him in as the Day 1 starter. There is still a rawness to Richardson’s overall production. His decision-making needs work and there is also a tendency to force throws rather than take what he’s given, which could become a problem against NFL defenders.

I may stand to be corrected but I believe Turbo stays.
-
I am all on board for obtaining a hard charging, physical winger
-
I fully agree that TNT is not all that great but it's still better than nothing.
-
Looking forward to the game!

If Fangio is just looking for a ring this year or next year, Miami is not the team he should sign up with.
-
While some may now perceive Fangio lacks conviction about his next role, sources indicate that this unnecessarily prolonged saga will likely come to its conclusion soon with Fangio teaming with McDaniel in Miami.

Here's why the Panthers and Matt Rhule are battling over buyout money Anthony Rizzuti follow February 1, 2023 2:25 pm ET We learned on Wednesday morning, through the reporting of CBS Sports lead NFL insider Jonathan Jones, that Matt Rhule has filed an arbitration suit against the Carolina Panthers. The complaint alleges that the team is refusing to pay roughly $5 million of his severance compensation, which is a part of the buyout from this past season’s firing. Well, Jones also noted that the Panthers are indeed refusing to pay Rhule—under the belief that he and the University of Nebraska are trying to get one over on owner David Tepper. Rhule’s buyout entails a dollar-for-dollar credit against what’s left on his deal with Carolina. So—essentially—the less Nebraska pays, the more the Panthers will. Being that Rhule’s new pact is considerably backloaded, Carolina will argue that Rhule and his new employer have finagled the terms to get Tepper to pay more upfront. Here, as mentioned by Jones, is the policy the Panthers will reference under reasonableness with new contracts. The eight-year deal with Nebraska, which has an annual average salary of $9.25 million, will pay Rhule just $5.5 million in his first year and eventually escalate up to $12.5 million.

I think Tom Brady did a good job with this announcement. He’s the GOAT of football QB’s and still young enough to accomplish other great things in his life. Brady made the game of football even more fun to watch and talk about! I wish him all the best and look forward to seeing him in other places. Thanks for the memories Tom- you were amazing!

Great idea! Rodney Peete could be the starting QB and HC Franck Reich could be the backup QB. Why the Panthers haven't thought of this really puzzles me.
-
I think we can agree that Rhule will go down as the most inept and disliked head coach by Carolina Panther fans, in the teams history.
-
Instead of Rhule wanting more money from the Panthers, that fraud should be giving back some of the millions he conned them out of!

Everything comes to an end eventually. Acceptance of the certainty and permanence of what you cannot control can be so difficult. Especially when you have been to the Top.... been the very best. Time knows no prejudice. One must embrace and appreciate their own experiences dearly holding that personal meaning as enough. Our moment in time is just that, a moment, to be surpassed by moments that follow. Live all of your moments.

Reich wouldn’t confirm he plans to call plays in Carolina, but it sounds as if that's his preference. “Obviously I've always enjoyed doing that, and felt like I’ve had a good bit of success doing that,” Reich said. “When you have a head coach who has played the position, he knows what looking through that lens of a quarterback looks like,” Panthers general manager Scott Fitterer said. “He knows what processing looks like, how to call games through that eye. So there are a lot of advantages to having an offensive head coach."

I think the new DC will have a lot of input in deciding the kind of defense they run. It could wind up being both a 4-3 or 3-4, being used depending on the occasion at the time..

The report below is what Ian Rapoport has released. Ian Rapoport @RapSheet Unbelievable: The #Broncos spent today trying to hire DeMeco Ryans AGAIN today before he recommitted to the #Texans, sources say. When he agreed to terms with the Texans, they moved and finalized Sean Payton.

Reich’s description of a QB: It’s basically Corral
KatsAzz replied to Wundrbread33's topic in Carolina Panthers
That is a plan I could live with. Brissett would be a good bridge QB until the 1st rd QB and Corral got their NFL legs under them. -
I hope the Bronco fans aren't expecting miracles from Payton this year or they could be disappointed because I am not certain that Payton's style and Wilson will be that good of a match .

Frank Reich's Intro Presser - Today, Noon EST
KatsAzz replied to Bear Hands's topic in Carolina Panthers
Reich let it be known in no uncertain terms in the press conference, when he said the players would be the ones making the train go but the coaches would be the ones driving the train. -
It is an obvious plus that Reich has spent the last four-and-a-half seasons as head coach of the Indianapolis Colts prior to being let go in the middle of last season. He amassed a 40-33-1 record with the Colts and finished over .500 in three of his four full seasons. He battled quarterback turnover throughout the duration of his tenure but was generally able to lead above average offenses and above average teams. Prior to his time in Indy, he was the whizzbang offensive coordinator of the Philadelphia Eagles that made Carson Wentz actually look good and before winning the Super Bowl with Nick Foles. Prior to his coaching career, Reich spent several years as Jim Kelly’s backup in Buffalo before spending his last few years as a journeyman. Those journeys contained one stop with the Panthers, where he started (and lost) three games in 1995. Consider this a coming home of sorts.

You could very well be correct with your assumption.
