KatsAzz replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
Not going to happen. If that is what he wants, he may end up disappointed. -
Dane Brugler Mock Draft 1.0 (from The Athletic)

Keep Gilmore, let Jackson walk and get a 3rd comp for him next year. There is no way we can afford both, plus we have good depth at CB. -
Will we be eligible for any type compensation if we chose not to resign Donte Jackson?

It is a no brainer the Panthers made a big,big mistake when they made him the highest-paid running back in NFL history in April 2020, signing him to a four-year, $64 million contract extension with a contract that runs through the 2025 season. Now the team is going to pay the price for their mistake.

Happy Panther's tank thread and projected draft pick

Yes,that was a real smart move by our brain (brainless) trust. -
Would you be upset if Rhule left this week to go to LSU?
KatsAzz replied to Dorian Gray's topic in Carolina Panthers
My guess is that Rhule will have at least one more year here in Carolina but considering that Tepper is the teams owner, I would not bet money either way that he goes or stays. -
Cam Newton should be done as a starting QB in this league
KatsAzz replied to NAS's topic in Carolina Panthers
Reflecting back in time to the 2015-16 season, we all remember how Cam went was how the Carolina Panthers went that year. When he was playing right and dancing and celebrating with his teammates and was healthy, he could win games but he couldn't change the way he played after that as teams began hitting him and planning for his runs to the point where he was calling for officials to get some of the calls. Some of it fell on Cam himself, there comes a time where you have to adjust to moving and working within the pocket instead of tucking and running, Steve McNair for example ran less and less as his career progressed and a lot of these scrambling quarterbacks now will have to make that difficult transition. -
So does PJ start next week? Does anyone even care?
KatsAzz replied to hepcat's topic in Carolina Panthers
It is hard for any team to win when the offensive line is called by the officials for holding on good blocks every momentum play The Panthers were not just playing the Dolphin defense and offense today. -

Cam finished completing 5 of 21 passes for 92 yards with two interceptions and no touchdowns through the air. His second pick set the Dolphins up with a nine-yard field that they converted into a 14-7 lead with a Tagovailoa touchdown pass to Jaylen Waddle. Per the NFL, Newton's 23.8% completion rate was the worst for a quarterback with at least 20 attempts since Joey Harrington's 5-for-22 effort for the Detroit Lions in 2004. -

Rhule made clear after the game that Cam Newton remains Carolina's starting quarterback despite being pulled in the fourth quarter. He told reporters that he made the switch late because Newton's protection wasn't holding up and that he believed Walker stood a better chance in a hurry-up offense because he knows the 2-minute playbook. -
Bingo!!! You are 100% correct!! When the Dolphins were shown holding or blocking in the back and nothing called the cameras quickly turned the other way. The announcers commented on the bad calls but they are limited on the amount they can be critical toward officials.

One of the main reasons New England stays on top regardless of who they have at QB is good coaches to develop the team each year and the ability to keep the players focused to play at a high level each week. -

I am not saying it cost us the game because there is lots of blame to go around but the whole game was called poorly and one sided. The bad calls were slanted toward the Panthers and hurt them when it mattered most. I would like to think NFL games are called fairly but games called like this make me have doubts. -
The officials seemed to be calling suspect possible game changing fouls on the Panthers all day, especially at the beginning of the game when the Panthers had drives going.

Pot Roast ripping into Defense on sidelines Sunday
KatsAzz replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
I am wondering if the Panthers inability to stop the Washington running attack was due to poor gap control or the fact that the team is lacking in talent when they face teams that play a smash mouth running game? I hope the answer is the first, not the latter, or else we are in trouble.. -
I am just thankful that the Panthers is the team in my region and not the Lions who are pitiful.

Happy Thanksgiving! What Panthers related thanks are you giving?
KatsAzz replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
I am thankful that we have an NFL team in our region we can support, enjoy and call our own. -
Rivera played Rhule again
KatsAzz replied to Move the Panthers to Raleigh's topic in Carolina Panthers
If Ron loses a couple more games this year he may be headed to the NFL Hall Of Fame but only as an observer. -
I am wondering if the Panthers will even sign Donte Jackson next year. They plenty of options next year at Corner Back. A.J. Bouye, Stephon Gilmore, Donte Jackson, and Rashaan Melvin all veteran guys and younger Jaycee Horn, C.J. Henderson, and Keith Taylor Jr. Gilmore. Donte Jackson, and Rashaan Melvin are in the final year of their current deals. Meanwhile, Bouye is under contract through the 2022 season.

Everyone who matched up with McLaurin had a tough time outside of Gilmore. In Jackson’s case, this was his most disappointing performance of 2021 by a considerable margin.
-
It is a given we now have a starting QB with Cam Newton at the helm and it could be just a short matter of time before Brady Christensen proves to be the long term LT we are in desperate need off.
-
I am proud of Cam and thought he did a great job overall, considering he has only been here a matter of days, which meant there was no way he could know much of the play book in that short of a time period.
