I've gone back and forth several times over the years, but ultimately this is why I keep coming back to the NFL over college football. The amount of talent on the rosters is a lot more even and in the end it usually comes down to coaching.

You're really messing with fire if you're trying to play Brady in a phone booth. He has to be given as little time with the ball and as few possessions as possible, even this version of him in the final moments of his career. I really didn't like that move even when we were dominating the game.

Yeah I went through a lifechanging event in 2015 that made me re-contexualize football. It wasn't a life or death matter as in the OP, but it was one of those crossroads moments when you have to make a really serious, life-altering decision and question what you prioritize in life. I still like chopping it up here on Sundays and watching the Panthers but the emotional labor is like maybe 10% of what it used to be. tbh I'm glad things are that way now.
