  1. defensively, I struggle once I get past Brown, Horn, Shaq and Clowney....yet that probably is the best part about the team lol. I mean, technically, I can go further but not with the ease of prior eras.
  2. the Green Bay game wasn't even a good game. It was just a good 4th quarter aided by penalties and a hurt GB team. Reich isn't horrendous. Reich is average. He was horrendous because he didn't have a functional QB to run his O. Bryce isn't going to be able to run anything that resembles what Canales has been around in the NFL either.
  3. I think it depends on the situation. Bill Belichick didn't need preseason w/ Tom Brady. Canales has never been a HC. Canales has only called plays 1 year. Canales is now going to be doing BOTH....and on top of that doing it with a green not very good QB. and most really good QBs, like Mahomes, Allen, Burrow want reps going into a season. You only get 17 games. They ain't got time to go in cold and figure out. I guarantee you a Mahomes would want get out there for example with his never been a center center and see some real reps with him before the season starts. Probably wants that OL that features not a single person who has played beside someone before to take some live shots and reps before it matters. Practice far too controlled and predictable.
  4. Not on the outside he ain't. I mean, DBs just got to overplay the slant and inside stuff.
  5. Nah. Blame cycles are a thing. Carolina most likely just has to acknowledge they don’t have a QB to compete.
  6. I have embraced the fact trainwrecks provide their own form of entertainment.
  7. I predict 2024 is going to feel very similar to 2023 but only the coach doesn't get fired. - tons of debate and threads on the HC needing to give up playcalling. Predictable. All that jazz - talk, by some, of Bryce not being protected good enough (many will argue he is bringing that upon himself in large part) - continued talk about defenses sitting on the pass game and us not being able to threaten downfield - D looks okay and might be if paired w/ a decent O 2-5 wins pending how luck goes
  8. Cam was really good at being a tone and tempo setter out of the gate. Also, even though it wasn't polished....his disgust for apathy, losing and being against the culture that frankly existed IMO are forms of his leadership. Jake was also a tone setter out of the gate. Energy. Fight. We have lacked offensive energy for some time. CMC and DJ Moore were just good at football.
  9. Cam was most definitely leading his team out the gate though. His leadership evolved but he immediately stepped into a leadership role. Jake Delhomme did as well. There isn't one way to do it. And it doesn't look the same throughout a career. But generally, QBs naturally take some type of leadership role. But Bryce Young is basically young Eli Manning. It's just not in his DNA to be what you generally see at the QB spot. And Eli won 2 Super Bowls. But he was just a guy playing QB most of his career.
  10. 2023 - traded the farm for a QB #1 overall 2024 - first round pick on WR training camp report, these dudes are going to run the heck out of the ball with a 4th rounder via the HC who owned the worst run game in the NFL last year.
  11. If the Tepper era had a Hall of Honor, Matt Rhule is at the front of the line. Put some respect on that name. The Tepper Era Mount Rushmore. Where is an AI image creator when you need it. Matt Rhule, PJ or Sam (you either pick win % or total wins), Sir Purr but carved as a bear, and last.....way off to the right and basically looking like different monument you put Derrick Brown.
  12. I don't know how you reach "solid".....when your 1 year as an OC featured a bottom half O sporting the worst run game in the NFL. It all stinks. Always has. Not only is Canales super green and unproven....Tepper allowed him to stretch himself thin by calling plays. You can basically predict this entire season before it kicks off.....much like you could do the last 2. The last 2 were super predictable. Well, Frank making that early of an exist wasn't but the overall season was.
  13. to quote the greatest head coach of all time (in the Tepper era)....ONE OF US!
  14. True. Bryce actually would only pair with a creative offensive guy that caters a scheme to him. He isn't a plug and play guy. but I'd argue Bryce paired better with what Frank did in the NFL than what Canales has been around.
  15. true. but he wasn't in camp last year with Bryce. Camp to camp is really what I was going with. I haven't heard anything suggesting Bryce has grown as a football player.
  16. stop the cap. Jordan wasn't here last year. And by all accounts, Bryce is having a worse camp than last year. but Jordan is smart and a pro. Probably why they randomly have him up at the presser. He ain't dumb.
  17. Then we could at least have 2 random good games a season. That's more than 0.
  18. Canales didn't draft Young. Canales doesn't have to go out there and poo the bed until he has to. I think our O potentially could be worse than last year. In terms of the actual pass aspect. I don't think Bryce is good and I don't think he pairs with Canales. I've said that for months.
  19. I'm here for free fantasy advise. Don't draft Panthers.
  20. I'll bet you a button and nickel that you will be disappointed in the play time of our starters. I think it's still possible we don't see Bryce at all this preseason.
  21. it delays how much Canales has to deal with. Imagine they come out and play a half vs the Jets the starters are the trainwreck we believe them to be. Canales can kick that can and hope he can figure stuff out by the time week 1 gets here. it's an all around bad spot. Bryce isn't good. It's a new O on top of that. One that Bryce doesn't really fit or is a deviation of Canales' bread and butter. Pick one. We don't even have a functional C at this point.
  22. meh, agree yet disagree. you are probably right. But it shouldn't be that way. I mean, it almost takes effort to try to be as dysfunctional as we are. Like "fixing" your OL and yet not even having a someone that has logged a NFL game at C. This isn't something we shouldn't and couldn't have seen coming. It was a choice. And doing so knowing you got a young and struggling QB. This is why I disliked Morgan. Everything remains too Fitterery. It's like acquiring Bryce and trading DJ Moore. Yeah, that's not how you do it for a QB you just invested in. It's basic stuff this front office seems oblivious to.
  23. I'm looking forward to the preseason I'm not looking forward to Canales excuses of why he can't really play his starters again this week, when the truth will be he can't leave them out there to be exposed for a half as they enter a season. Maybe they get a series or something. No way they see extended time. O isn't good enough IMO based on what we know and have heard. He would have too much to publicly address after that. Wouldn't be good for momentum into a season. He is going to kick that can. We struggle getting snaps off at this rate. Bryce throwing picks. Jets got too good of DT play to attack our weaknesses right now. I'm looking forward to cold beers this weekend.
