  1. 32 teams didn’t even scout Bryce and look at him. No way to know what they actually thought of him. It would be pointless to for some teams to invest any time and energy into Bryce and Stroud
  2. Way too much hate on XL….not enough of a critical eye on the Panthers front office/staff for example take another we considered/wanted around here. Who also had a really rough camp. Xavier Worthy - 1 preseason game 6 targets, 3 catches, 62 rec yards, rec TD, 1 rush attempt 11 rushing yards. Sounds great! What the real difference? The org and plan for their young WR. Worthy was getting work with Patrick Mahomes. They made sure they worked him into the starting O and got him touches. He had 2 catches and a rush attempt with the starting O on their first drive. It’s by design to get him involved and work on his growth. That’s scripted and by design. And when Mahomes sat and he logged his last catch? It was still a Super Bowl QB throwing to him. XL had one target from Jack Plummer. An undrafted rookie that shouldn’t have even seen the reps he got. Biggest difference in the two players IMO is the players. It’s the organizations. Canales should have gotten him actual opportunities. That’s on the coach IMO.
  3. I’d wager, the general thought process by most should largely hold true to open the season. D probably will look better than the O. Saints have seen Bryce twice. They have a good understanding of some basics about him. Load up to stop Hubbard. Bryce likes the short stuff. Sit on the pass game. Game plan to make Bryce beat you with the throws he hasn’t proven to be consistent with.
  4. No, but…. Tremble -hurt Matthews - a converting WR Sanders - rookie who has never seen a legit NFL snap yet So in terms of pass pro/run blocking…Ian Thomas is the best option for week 1 in many aspects.
  5. Dude literally got 1 total target all preseason by a horrible QB. our offensive rookies essentially got zero work this preseason. Sanders is the superstar of the bunch and got a grand total of 3 targets. That’s light opportunity for our offensive rookies. Injuries obviously part of the math but dang…really disappointing from a fan perspective. Brooks on the shelf obviously. Normally that’s the funnest part
  6. devils advocate Put pass catching aside for a minute. We have 1 healthy TE on the roster that we know can do a base level of blocking for Bryce Young week 1. Ian Thomas.
  7. Dave has to tie to Tremble though. Was hurt all preseason….and unlike the rest cutting him clear some real cap space vs the rest.
  8. I think Canales should have schemed up XL a catch with the starters on that opening script. Think that’s really his one error on the day.
  9. You mean we shouldn’t judge him based off of only getting looks with an undrafted rookie QB?
  10. Maybe against on par comp too. I think preseason game 3 last year he managed to lead us on 2 scoring drives to open up that game. It was backups for Lions then too.
  11. I don’t see a Mike McDaniel comp at all. McDaniels is probably smoking a bowl somewhere drawing up crazy new plays. Canales seems basically like more buttoned up Pete Carroll type. A PG rah rah guy. seems like the standard huddle swings where one day drastically changes everything.
  12. Fug no. it’s frankly the orgs fault IMO. It’s not XLs fault they didn’t get him real preseason work with a semi functional QB and actually work him. and it would make no sense to do that to him….and let Brooks come in a 1/4 of the way into the season.
  13. Well, with the TMJ leak.. ISM and Moore. I’ll go Moore because he is a Dave guy brought in by Dave. If and when ISM is banged up he defaults into the PR stuff. Only other guy doing that stuff.
  14. That’s why I think Tommy might be in trouble. Hurt all preseason. Legit cap. Canales got no attachment. And then add in the play a Sanders and Matthews. Sanders and Matthee can’t do it all. You keep camp all star Ian. But it comes down to cap. Add a TE to replace Tremble. Gain cap in the end.
  15. Maybe Burrow would rather have him at depth than the one of the dudes they got
  16. I wouldn’t be shocked if Canales has a surprise cut or 2. Roster full of not his guys. Tremble missed everything. Think he clears some healthy cap. 2 new TEs have shined thus far. I think there will be some type of mini shocker
  17. 89 was a great WR. 89 proves over on the NFLN often to be immature and still a jerk human. I think that fact, will make his HOF odds forever harder than his fans think it should be.
  18. Really wish Corbett could have made it out there today. Guess that’s the only real complaint to be made. But congrats to him and he shouldn’t have made the trip. Not questioning his priorities. But sucks he didn’t get some real looks with Bryce. He might be the biggest ? mark going into this season.
  19. In the quote I shared, it had the workout in it. I guess you overlooked that. So I didn’t include it being mentioned twice. so again, it’s a bad quote by Bryce. And it’s bad his team is the one that was selling it given the season he had. Not sure why that can’t just be that.
  20. I mean, Dabo gave him opportunity after opportunity after opportunity…..there was no debate when he left Clemson really on DJ. Fine kid but wasn’t going to do anything at a big school vs big competition. FSU got desperate. ACC already proved to be too tough for DJ
  21. Who is arguing it is? I think Bryce Young needed more reps simply to get the opportunity to experience reps in this O. Bryce for the 2nd year in a row is one of the least repped QBs in preseason (and on his 2nd O). Every Canales O has been about chunk passes. Bryce repped so little his 1 attempt at that….was a sack. That’s it. So yeah, I think Bryce should have seen more reps. And those reps should have been earlier. Bryce also goes into the season….not having 1 live rep with his brand new and questionable C. That’s on Dave. that’s just basics IMO everyone should of wanted this preseason
  22. Gotta love seeing FSU take that L as a Clemson fan Go Tech!
  23. Bryce has always played the middle of the field. That might be one of his stronger areas in reality. Issue I think most are talking about is he can’t play inside certain pockets/depths because of his size that others can. on that TD for example, look at the depth and distance he has from the defenders while scanning the field. Give Bryce those looks? He will make the right play. That’s basically a dream setup for him. my favorite throw today was the other you mentioned to Sanders. He climbed up the pocket and hit him. That one wasn’t an ideal setup. Think everything else he did was breaking out of the pocket today
  24. Yes, because Hubbard should walk after this year. You shouldn’t extend and pay them. Sanders should be gone too. so Brooks would be a 2nd year RB then and ready to be the dude
