all guess work. my concern remains the common theme. The Seattle mindset and focus. I think our wannabe Seattle blueprint front office folks have botched this. Sadly, that's going to include Morgan. Morgan is a real football player. But Morgan, the front office guy and build a team guy, was largely molded in Seattle. from day 1, I think our first big move and our last big move.....was the Seattle dream clouding judgement. Jaycee Horn on a team that had nothing and needed to rebuild....and the farm for Bryce Young.

it also been well reporter Tepper has weeded out the types that ran against the grain. So, the argument is either Morgan agreed on a lot ......or he kept his mouth shut. Neither option would be overly flattering.

see, I don't agree there. There isn't much of an argument for Matt Rhule being all powerful and getting de facto GM his last season either. He was a dead man walking in reality. That's why he was fired a couple weeks into the season and even during that offseason had been intentionally put on the back burner. Matt Rhule had a line buried in a contract and people IMO ran way too far with it. Some of the bad moves during the Rhule era where Matt Rhule influenced bad moves. Some of the bad moves were just Fitt and company being just as bad at it. I'm not down w/ using Matt Rhule as the catch all fall guy for where we are today. It was also the front office. Fitterer and his team.

I mean, that is no doubt the hope. No way to know for sure, I just find it doubtful Morgan disagreed with all the bad moves. Got to think he was like minded to some extent.

true, but that's not the case for Tepper, Morgan, etc. The dudes who ultimately determine the roster and helped get us here.

It’s billed as a multi purpose facility. So they can have training camp there but a whole bunch of other events too. So they 100% ain’t practicing on grass.

I don't see Atl giving up a 1st for Fields. I think a team ends up getting a good deal on him in terms of a trade.... considering everyone will know Chicago has to get rid of him and then you have to pay him.

I've efficiently done Dan Morgan's job for him. Goal 1 - right a horrific and shameful wrong of the past 4 times over Goal 2 - looked forward to our 2025 rebuild for when we look to build around our 1st round pick in the 2025 draft.

I read that it was done between Aug-Nov of 2023. Which, Frank probably came off very well to guys that lived through the Rhule joke era. So that means the polling also took place before they actually got a taste of Frank the real NFL Panther HC. Don't even know if a game was played during that quirky window.

lot of where folks are drafted is just a matter of who is in their draft class and how desperate some teams are for some hope. Hurts IMO while the 4th best Bama QB.....wouldn't of been my 4th if they all were coming in together into the NFL. Maybe if he never transferred and his college career ended there he would have stayed. I've just never been wow'd by any of them for a long time. But I'm also a certified Bama hater (or at least was during that era)

it's just the KC players isn't that are impacting those grades. I mean, just because the team wins doesn't mean ownership couldn't be grade a d bags.

in terms of recent Bama QBs, just talking the college player I'd rank them Tua, Bryce, Mac, Hurts irrelevant side note, I'm still surprised with the strides Hurts made as a passer when he left Bama.

I mean, the head coach got an A - I don't know what to make of that. Guess it's a likeability survey more than anything. Nice people are going to score high?

the most successful window of our franchise's history? Nationally relevant? A bad game away from one of the greatest season's in NFL history? I mean, I'd take that ride again in heartbeat.

I mean, if you are just using statistics, it might be a tough sell that he was even the best SEC QB that year. I could argue he was the 3rd best QB in the SEC in 2022. IMO, Bryce Young was clearly trending downward after his initial season. I mean, he only played 2 so that's probably not the fairest way to view it but.

well, upon reflection I'd probably give him the nod in 2021 if I am being fair. I wouldn't in 2022. His last season is largely what was sticking in my head. but that's probably the only season in recent history where I would ever give the nod to a Bama QB.

well, I can't recall a single season in recent history where I viewed an Alabama QB as the best actual QB in college football. They have all been set up for stats and production as a by-product of having the best roster in football generally year over year. I'm not sure I have a concrete answer for who I think was the best on the spot. I'd have to think about it. There are tons of guys and it wouldn't just be who was leaving for the NFL. going into the draft, I was always clear that IMO Bryce Young had the lowest ceiling of any of the top 4 QBs that were talked about. He didn't have the skill set IMO to excel in the NFL. I thought his floor might of been higher. Which might still be true in a good situation vs some of them.

I don't believe Bryce Young was the best QB in college. I think he played for the best team/roster/coach in college. Which can lead to great or even the best statistical season. no coach is going to change the fact he is a physical anomaly at the position in the NFL.

and I'll still argue, Theilen wasn't actually good. He was a slow savvy vet playing the slot we force feed.....that basically gave you none of the upside you really would be looking for there. if you look at yards per catch by actual WRs.....it was checkdown down city overall on the year. You have to get to like WR # 60+ in terms of yardage on the year to find someone getting less per catch. Adam Thielen can't be our #1 focal point in the passing game IMO.

my best guess is Canales is largely just a players coach. I'd safely say a better present day playcaller than Frank Reich too. But I don't think he is some offensive guru. Which probably is what an anomoly like Bryce Young actually needs to have a shot at panning out.

very true. Routes and plays open for some NFL arms are definitely not open for others. That's where I think some of this discussion is blurred. You can't just look at separation time with no context. Diggs and Chark aren't going to be in comparable scenarios while NFL open..... Allen can laser a ball in during a tiny window and not be properly set. Bryce can't.

hard to feel super great when so many of the big brains and past decision makers.....are still in house fixing it. Tepper and Nicole are constants. Fitterer's right hand man is now the man. Game of Thrones mastermind and new hire helper Jim Caldwell is still advising. Old man Capers still here. A huge percentage of the old staff is still in house given Evero was retained. New face in the HC just doing standard coach speak. this just doesn't feel like a new chapter to me. Feels like a really bad franchise tweaked something because Frank wouldn't listen to them enough.

that's no high bar though. Hell, the Bears backup QB last season looked just as promising as Bryce Young.

personally, on the journey of getting old(er)....I have been really excited about the crazy and super growth of ear and nose hair.

a year ago, the board told me we were playoff bound baby!!!! with an awesome staff and one of the best rosters we have seen in a long time.
