How do you feel about being trapped on a deserted island with Dave Matthews music?

Oh, I don't think they should of cared. I didn't. But Cam had a ton of noise around him. Probably more than any player being drafted in the last 20 years. All I am saying, if Justin Fields had off the field issues...we would know of them at this stage. No one it makes the rounds with the NFL teams and doesn't get leaked all over the place.

I mean that wasn't even the big Cam scandal. And Cam still went #1 overall. I mean Cam's "alleged" pay for play scandal dominated the college football news cycle the year coming into the NFL. Justin Fields must eat babies or something really bad.

but you would think if he had off the field concerns...we would know them. I mean it is 2021. Nothing remains secret. Everything leaks out and becomes public.

I think the smokescreen is merely them second guessing themselves after such a bold move. Because really, what is Mac Jones going to give you that Jimmy G doesn't? Given this is Kyle running his scheme/O in SF. Does Mac really make you better?

I don't buy that he believes he will be drafted #32. Field's physicals tools with Trubisky's brain doesn't = 32nd pick in a QB starved league. It's total clickbait. It's literally Simms' job right now. To get the internet folks talking.

Trey Lance is the wildcard that messes up the narrative entirely lol. Maybe it is more about Justin Fields not mimicking a successful QB for all these GMs to make themselves feel good. Everyone cherry picks Wilson's odd throws and starts talking about Mahomes. That's a Mahomes throw! Lance gets the Josh Allen talk/love. Mac gets Brady. See! accurate dad bods that play in a system win!! Trevor gets all the textbook robots of Luck, Peyton, etc. Fields doesn't have that QB for them do to do that with.

Zach Wilson is the perfect counter example IMO. He has plenty bad habits. Fields' are being put under a microscope. Wilson's largely dismissed as people gush over the upside.

He also thought Teddy Bridgewater was a top 10 prospect. Guys with fancy titles have shitty takes just like the rest of us.

I would be thrilled to have a Justin Fields/Sam Darnold both on the roster. Seems like a win/win to me.

he is suggesting you draft the best player on the board. And if you have Sam....you aren't forced to throw your rookie QB to the wolves day 1 out of desperation/no other options. QB is our biggest need in terms of consistently winning football games and actually doing something. We can draft a CB. We ain't going to do anything without a legit QB.

well, 3rd option in regards to addressing the QB situation not via draft. And like I said, the fact we went looking at Stafford/Watson and how we did Teddy in the process.....kinda built the need for a 3rd option whether we initially had anyone in mind there or not. I think failing to get Stafford/Watson created a weird environment. Then they just had to get a body to replace Teddy with.

I'd rather draft a talented QB that might struggle to get on the field because of talent in front of him.......than do it with a RB, LB, DT, etc. Which we have gone into the draft and done....in the first round.

yep, Sam was option # 3 of the offseason. And we had to do something given how we did Teddy while looking at option #1 and #2.

I think Mac Jones is the only QB in this draft who fits Kyle's preferred type. Now, did he spend all that draft capitol to go get Mac Jones? No point doing a smokescreen IMO. He can just name the player. No one to fool. I think there has been a concerted effort to knock Fields from 1b to as far down as possible while simultaneously pumping up every other QB over him. And nothing on the football field backs that IMO.

I didn't LOVE Burns (largely because of Everette). But I didn't hate the pick. Probably would have to go back to the Dom Capers era to find a first rounder I disliked as much as Horn at #8.

Because all it takes is 1 team out of 32. I mean the majority of teams could have him as 2nd rounder. But if someone at the top wants him... Kyle has a type. Mac is it. Which is baffling to move up and spend the capitol to get to #3 to take Mac. They didn't need to go up that high and plenty of teams IMO would have traded down.

Clausen didn't spend the last 2 seasons of his college career being the consensus 1b with someone hyped as a generational talent (Trevor). Players can fall. No doubt. But what Simms is doing with Fields IMO is just 100% clickbait. Guarantees Simms gets the attention before the draft and after it.
