  1. Tepper isn't going to pay this dude to coach for 7 years lol. The only reason Rhule gets another season is if Tepper buys the excuses. He might. Tepper believes it takes time to builds a winner, too, so perhaps he'll give Rhule another year. I hope not.
  2. I could see him being allowed to finish this season. If he's given another year... Man... I just don't understand. I can't imagine Tepper is satisfied a the the teams progress lol.
  3. I want him fired but if Tepper is going to give him another year I really hope he cleans house on most assistants and brings in NFL coaches... Snow hasn't been atrocious, but he really seems figured out, so...
  4. Okay, well, it'll be nice to have a break from obsessing over this team for a year. Thanks Tepper.
  5. Seems that as long as you draft intelligently for the OL you can also spend money to get good FAs there to fill holes etc. LT is best in the draft if possible for sure. Problem is our staff believe in themselves too much. They think they can salvage careers... The hubris is real. So we bargain shop...
  6. God I hope he just sticks with Darnold. Can't trust this guy to evaluate anything and we already are on the hook for Sammy D next year regardless. Maybe if he's dumb enough to believe in Darnold he can stumble into building other parts of the team for our next HC. The fewer assets we let Rhule deal the better...
  7. Well that's nice of Tepper to save me some money on TV packages.
  8. Ahh. Hopefully someone asks Rhule about it next press conference. Very weird for sure, although I'm already so used to Rhule bumbling everything I wouldn't be surprised if he listed the wrong player or some crap
  9. Great football player? By what metric? Dude was not good. Atrocious passer, meh runner. His best season was objectively bad in comparison to every single other QB mentioned in this thread including Dalton and Flacco...
  10. I thought the passing O looked promising at first. Then it crashed and burned. Actually not unlike last year lol. Took the defense longer but it's clearly been figured out too.
  11. Uhhhhhhhh... Sam had a decent stretch but was clearly figured out... Just like the entire offense... Hell DBs flat out told us they knew our routes lololol. I mean the only time he looked decent after the Cowboys game was a couple series against the Vikings in hurry up...
  12. To take a step back that tweet does not imply Gilmore didn't have some kind of knee pain or that he didn't take it easy in practice, but it does imply our coaches don't communicate poo to players at all. Not surprising given it took Rhule half a season to talk to his fuging starting QB.
  13. Eli is a weird creature that was not very good in the regular season and found ways to win in the post season. Good on him... But I wouldn't have traded for him at all. Dude was not reliable. Even considering just passing stats alone Cam threw a higher % of TDs and fewer % of INTs prior to his departure from the team. But neither he nor big Ben had a single season valued even as high as Cams rookie season let alone his MVP. Cam had 4 seasons at or higher than the best seasons Ben and Eli had, at least by approximate value of a QBs season. These aren't values made up by Panthers homers but from a reputable football website. I think we are just going in circles now so feeling pointless. We won't agree. Ah well, that's the internet
  14. I love the team but it's so hard to invest energy in a team that feels and looks so terribly coached. I get rebuilds take time but it feels like every step is the wrong direction this season. Ah well. I'll still be here whether Rhule is fired this year or next.
  15. The Panthers can't really go back in time to trade Cam for a pre injury Manning lol. Or a prime Brady etc. Can only really compare to that time... But ... Ben? Rivers? Eli????? Just look at their years at that time...I posted the comparison... From his rookie year to 2015, Cam was rated as the third most valuable QB over that time behind only Brady and Wilson by PFR... And Cam was very close to both of them in that period, and in 2015 was objectively better than either. It's why the Panthers wouldn't have traded him for anyone.
  16. Your argument for why he isn't a hofer appears to be that you would trade him for the best player to play the game and one of the best QBs ever in their primes... And I still don't think the Panthers would risk a Cam trade in early 2016 for ANYONE at that point (keeping in mind you can't put Cam in a time machine to trade him with a decade younger Brady lol). He was coming off one of the best single seasons ever and it was reasonable to think he could do it again. Argue longevity if you want, imo that is the real rub here and where Cams campaign hits a snag.
  17. lol I've been pretty supportive of Darnold and even I can't believe anyone is stupid enough to think at this point he's gonna do anything better than Cam in this offense.
  18. Why should I? You claimed Cam wasn't even top 10 in his prime, I showed you numbers that disagreed and you ignored them lol. In his prime Cam averaged seasons in the top 5 of all QBs. The issue with Cam is longevity, not performance in his window. There is absolutely zero chance that Cam is traded for any of those guys you list after the 2015 season... hell It's even unlikely he gets traded for any of them in his first few years either lol, because he was so promising. Now looking back, it's easy to argue a trade because of longevity. But Cam had one of the best rookie seasons for a QB ever and had several great seasons after it, and while still young, had an incredible MVP season. In his prime he doesn't get traded either.
  19. So you think only 2 players on this list are going to the HOF? Lol.
  20. this doesn't really track with the reality tho. you are projecting your own biases. the numbers don't bear this out... He was top 10 in his prime EASILY and overall often top 5. the only legit argument against Cam is longevity IMO. the rest is bias / preference. PFF's AV attempts to catch the value of every season of every player. it is far from perfect. but it is one quasi-objective way for us to compare the list of QBs you came up with earlier. so let's look at Cam during his pre injury prime and his peers during this same period (to address the bold, which IMO ended in 2015), and then up to 2018, which includes multiple injured seasons: did I forget any names from your list?
  21. this is 100% not true, and it has been shown before. but let's entertain this. so our RBs certainly would be pumping out those TDs when Cam wasn't in games right? Chubba has 4 rushing TDs on the year. He got 2 in his first 5 starts before Cam, 2 in his last few games with Cam. No noticeable difference. In the 5 games before Cam started, we had what, 2 rushing TDs? We've had 7 since he has started. His 5 are the difference LOL. In 2018, Cam missed 2 games; all 7 of CMCs rushing TDs came in games WITH Cam. In 2014, Cam missed 2 games; all 5 of JStew's rushing TDs came in games WITH Cam. Cam takes away from his passing TDs by rushing, not the RB carries. In fact, the ability for us to run an option offense may increase the potential of some of those RBs getting scores, because the lines they had to play behind have been so abysmal at times lol.
  22. The only season PFF records his "accuracy" numbers before his major injuries was 2018 where only 13% of his throws were considered bad throws, putting him in the top/bottom 10 of the NFL in terms of bad throw %. Maybe you assume his arm was worse than other QBs because you watched him more? Yes Cam missed receivers high on occasion and didn't always have the best touch, but he threw incredible balls and won us games with his arm all the time. as to an elite arm, you're moving the goal posts. He was an elite QB. Not all elite QBs have elite arms (hell for that matter a lot of them don't, lol). If you want to break Cam's rushing out from his passing you can, but that isn't what judges someone's status as elite... just your personal opinion of them. as to not being honest, most posters here would acknowledge he isn't a surefire lock to the HoF. You're the one that comes in here and basically says he wasn't a good QB lol
