When did you figure out Rhule was a fraud?
Waldo replied to Randolph Panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
Right here. I heard his other pre-Panthers dribble but this sealed the deal for me. -
David Tepper ‘Under Investigation’ Over Public Money
Waldo replied to OnlyPantherFaninMaine's topic in Carolina Panthers
HAHAHAHA. You sweep under the rug Tepper's actions and intent while focusing on the obvious civil intent that is just fallout. IDGAF about RH. I already called them incompetent and that was their part in this mess. Tepper played his part and you can rant about some poedunk city all you want but that doesn't change that fact. The favorable situation was Tepper getting a deal way beyond typical and did so in a way the circumvented the state oversight very intentionally. His team pitched it to RH that way. -
Scott Fowler interview with Matt Rhule ‘fans sealed his fare’
Waldo replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
And here I was thinking I couldn't like him less and then he digs deeper. I can't belive Nebraska hasn't bailed on him yet. He just can't shut up and do his job... which is great now that it's no longer our problem. -
David Tepper ‘Under Investigation’ Over Public Money

So you haven't read anything. I don't have time to break it down extensively but what you are saying is way off base. There was an older thread on the updated fact Tepper's company was the bond holder in all of this so the bonds that were never released would have come from Tepper's company lol. Tepper knew what he was looking for, how he wanted to do the deal and went to where that would happen. It's all on RH and Tepper from everything I have read, RH's incompetence and Tepper's desire to do a shady deal that was heavily favored his interest even beyond most stadium deals out there. So he was caught with his hand in the cookie jar for doing some shady crap and the county & state are showing up to slap his hands with hefty fees or fines. -
Catcrave 4 QBs if panthers drop out of top 10
Waldo replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
Great coaching will be more important than the QB we pick. We need a new HC and staff that knows how to spot and develop a QB. If we had a coach that I could trust on the offensive side then the entire QB process would feel more like a fun ride and less like an obstacle course when looking at QBs. -

David Tepper ‘Under Investigation’ Over Public Money

The county sounds like the one party not in on the BS. So it's Tepper and RH, which he went to to do it his way. Ohh and his company was to be the bondholder to avoid state regulatoey oversight. With the way Tepper wanted to do this deal it was always going to happen this way, whereever he found a town that would do it his way. He is getting his hand slapped while in the cookie jar. The reality is the sooner this is over, hopefully he learned some things, the sooner we can get on with what comes next. Maybe some day we will have more than a practice bubble. -

Sounded legal but sketchy as hell. -
Infamy and this is a drop in the bucket to staring down that trade cost, contract and player compared to that mess.
-
Yup. I also hope Watson gets a turn because no way I wish that guy success.
-
Smart young man right there.
-
They don't even know if he is inside lol. In all seriousness I hope the guy gets the help he needs.
-
People here now? Obviously. New people coming in? Probably but also not necessarily with the same expectations or usage, especially when they weren't involved in the deal.
-
Let's hope so. I am also hoping Watson brings the happy ending to it all and implodes when he hits the field so those contracts go 0-2 big time.
-
I thought the cap doesn't exist? lol
-
What if he gets injured? It works both ways in that kind of hypothetical. He will get paid regardless and waiting to end this season is a great idea. We still have the 5th year option so he isn't walking anywhere for more than another year and there is a franchise tag behind that, so there is two safety nets with Burns moving forward to get this right. The cap angle is just smearing around the fact he is going to be making a lot more on the books in someway if he inks a new deal over the 5th year option value. We signed that kind of deal and that's why we are paying CMC 18 million (?) next year to play elsewhere and dealing with a stupid cap problem from a contract that we did too soon to hide issues elsewhere (this has those feels to me). We don't need more money this year, and I would really like to involve the next crew on a deal this size even if it's just a blessing.
-
We have no franchise QB and already are creating the cap issues he ran away from in NO without being close to a SB caliber team. He isn't coming here regardless of how you view him.
-
19th in yards allowed and 17th in scoring. Burns has talent and we have peices to build around but this isn't as great a D as some like to think. Last year it was yards allowed and this year it's Burns sacks. I can see us doing a 49ers type 4-3 but I still think Burns is the weakside DE in that scheme. I would love to see him as a true edge around an traditional 3-4 front.
-
True but after passing on the trade I'm expecting a CMC type deal than a Moore type deal. We will see.
-
Timing matters. It's a dumb move. Give the new HC his place at the table to discus the inevitable and make a positive easy step in the offseason. This has desperation stink all over it but I know he will take the money a couple of months early.
-
True but it's a huge red flag when a pack of guys working to have jobs next year get together and do a mega deal when they could just wait 2 months.
