We literally traded for 2 good options at CB for almost nothing, both top 10 picks themselves. Spending a top 10 pick on a CB vs missing on a franchise LT would be a fug up. Not the end of the world but obviously a huge miss. Because it is hard is not really a good excuse. It's the NFL, what is easy at that level other than the owner's making money? I hope BC looks amazing at LT. As for not playing a rookie just think about us putting in Moton in the SB instead of Bell out there getting killed at RT, we could have a ring for fugs sake or at worst still have lost. It just sounds like a copout unless it's actually tried and they fail when their competition is so bad or they are worse then expected. He wasn't drafted as a project and it's week 5, getting some contribution out of a round 3 pick is not unusual. At what cost, a few plays or series? Just put in BC and pray for the best.

Lol defensive much? Cool, keep on cheerleading if you want. Oline doesn't look to be his strength, small sample size here but also concerning outside of the draft which will be another huge step in evaluating his work. Enjoy his tit, I'm just hoping he can get a lot better in that aspect and not impressed with his work in that area at all yet.

He also whiffed big time by jumping on two free agent duds the first day, in the same way Seattle evaluates olinemen and why Wilsion has always had crappy olines when Fritts was director of college scouting and player personnel. Kind of relevant. I put this in the same perspective that he knows CBs, look at his history and the moves he made this season. It's an area he needs to do better. Maybe get off his tit and look at it realistically and not through so much Kool-aide?

He is showing the same bad taste as they have, their is already a correlation from this offseason and Seatles oline issues of the 5 years. He did have a hand and now he has to prove he can find the kind of oline talent that Seatle hasn't while he was working there. Having BC step up in a positive contribution soon would be a huge step in him proving that's not something we will be dealing with for a while.

Seems like he could help part time in the run game. The fact they did try is the red flag to me but it's week 4 and they need to find players at at least 2 spots playing significantly better soon. It's evident to all that that won't happen unless they shake it up. I do have very tempered expectations for the big guys with weight issues. They tend to become injury issues also. Either way, I'm hoping to see some of him in the coming weeks.

The fact Rhule said he sees BC as a RT is both confusing and scary. Dude has been a LT so why move an underpowered OT to the right? Also the more athletic option away from LT? No idea but Fritts past comes into play on your last question...and who we brought in as locks to start this year raises further questions. No idea but this is a big thing to watch so it's not going away until they shake that unit up.

Brady at LT or LG. I'm not convinced he has the strength yet for OG but it's worth a look at this point. LT all day in my opinion, if he fails then tell him to bulk up for LG next year. Please don't move Moton, I wanted to see him at LT for years, that time has passed. If he played like he has at RT, I don't know where the hope is coming from that he would be better at LT right now.

They are really pushing the Diggs shutdown Moore narrative

Playing style? Not really. Jake after 3 years was tedious and obviously an area we could improve in by attempting to upgrade, which we didn't because friendships and bad roster management. It was a point in Panthers history where we made the playoffs some but were not much of a legit threat after the first year, culminating is a very fun 2009 playoff game in Arizona. Very mediocre product. This team feels that way to me now, limited with some fun and great talents in spots. So the 2006 Jake comparison. If they want to support Darnold, that line has to improve or they need to change it up. With who they brought in this offseason they are failing currently at that. -

I tried to wait till week six but it's obvious what we are this year so good enough. Darnold is who he has always been and at this point in year 4, it's who he is going to be. His coaching is better and NJ is a toxic dump of a team. I still don't belive in him long term and I'm not going to any games this year because I already sat through enough Jake games. Home is way more entertaining and enjoyable for me. Darnold has a very obvious ceiling but I get it, you are a big time fan of his. It's peak 2006 Panthers to me at this point, if you know you know. His support will play a big roll in where he plays in his spectrum of quality. They failed him on Sunday big time, yet not surprisingly considering the matchups. The interior was completely awful and the OTs where slightly less bad. As the football continues to get better in quality this year that's going to be a huge problem for that unit if they don't do something, growth is becoming an obvious non-choice. Still too early but it looks like the quality of the O runs through CMC's effect on the play calling, D's main focus and being Darnold's best option on any play. Without him, that line is going to be a huge problem, just 'as is' hopefully. Darnold just needs to be more better Darnold and less practice dummy Darnold he was in NJ. That's on the line and staff at this point. Expecting Darnold to be R Wilson after what happened in NJ is ridiculously unrealistic. -
Can we just ban PFF on the Hudle and not contribute to their crap product?

PFF CB grades are some of the worst. Oline is close. Nothing to see here unless you have a double didget IQ. It wasn't a CB that fugged Sarnold, it was his line and training when under presser he got in NJ for 3 years. -

Uban Myers was a terrible choice and a reminder it can get a lot worse. Everyone with a brain knew he would bail when his BS flopped there. LoL and fug the Jags. We should trade for their picks before they put someone halfway capable in charge this year. -
How about not at all? He was awful and being on IR is a blessing for the team, it forces the staff's hand to move on to the next faster. He was never a good answer, just versatile in his awfulness.

We know what Erving and Miller are and it's nothing good, well they are all playing like crap but we do have options. Put Brady in at LT and see if he has a future. Put Brown in at RG and see if he can contribute, even if on limited snap counts. Put the rookies where they actually have experience and played well enough to get drafted. As for the rest, keep Moton at RT and see if they can squeeze anything out of the rest of the slop we call an Oline by mixing it up. We need to see if the guys we drafted can contribute because the rest aren't going to get 'fixed' with playing time. Maybe the rookies can.

Here are your OL Free Agents after this season
Waldo replied to Captain Morgan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I would rather see what Brady has at LT and Earwig at LG, he was a terrible center. See what Tacklenburg has at center first. At this point and how he plays RT, I don't need or want to see Moton at LT -
Ahh back when defense was fun and offenses were punching bags. Those teams were nasty, I miss it but understand why it had to go. Does anyone not still hate the Eagles?

Here are your OL Free Agents after this season
Waldo replied to Captain Morgan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Considering how we did with olinemen this year in free agency, I'm not comfortable with this crew throwing contracts that way. At this point, if Fritts is as good as we hope and frankly need, he can trade away some players for better ones in the draft. Being in the corner where you get ride of quality draft picks and over priced free agents will look like Seatle, without Russ. No cap, no picks and no good options but to start a fire sale. If we can get a 2nd and 5th for a player like Shaq, pull the trigger. Anyone not on a rookie contract should be considered if they are not a great player. -
Moton is good not great, he is also our only Olineman that shouldn't be replaced. The rest are backup level quality. Moton is good enough to build around, the problem is we have crap taste in Olinemen and the rookies that should be able to challenge the garbage in front of them are just not good enough yet to do even that. I have doubts this crew can identify good talent on the Oline after this offseason. I had hoped that BC could start at LG considering the level of competition but after he was declared a RT I just gave up any hope and I am just waiting waiting to see what he actually is. It had better not be just a RT.
