Here’s the thing. Love wouldn’t have made it with the vast majority of teams. I can’t think of any team that would have had the patience to develop that guy. Most teams give up way too fast on QBs. See Goff and Baker…among others. That’s why they are so well run. The packers error on cutting aging guys a year early and take their time developing key people. They don’t make knee jerk “Tepper” decisions.

I really think Morgan was the only guy they could find that was all in on Bryce. The idea that Dan wasn’t onboard with how this roster was constructed is laughable. 1) talent eval was his main job 2) Do we really think Fitt just ignored him on all these major decisions? If you think that, then Dan has zero communication and interpersonal skills and will be steamrolled by Tepper and the coaches.

Samir had no authority there. per the job description, Dan was the head talent evaluator.

Morgan was hired because he was team Bryce. No way Dave would hire a guy who would want to move in a different direction.

He was the assistant of the guy who put together the worst panthers roster ever. Either he agreed with those moves and is trash OR he was so ineffective as an assistant he was constantly ignored.

Just confirmation absolutely no one wanted to come work here. This move was being telegraphed since last week by the press so I’m guessing the team knew they were out of luck at least two weeks ago.

Yeah, in general guys have to take advantage of these HC openings wherever they come, because odds are not good they’ll come around again. The money is a huge step up, and being a HC pretty much guarantees you some kind of nfl job for life (unless you’re just extremely bad).

Morgan is the backup. Since he’s already with the team, He allows Tepper to save face when he can’t attract anyone else.
