  1. I've been a fan of his for a while now. He's QB1 in this draft, IMO.
  2. I'm not trading him for a 4th, period. We have no reason to rush this process if we intend to trade him; come the offseason some team will offer more than that.
  3. Honestly, even if we end up finishing with 4-5 wins I see that as a success if some of our young players show real progress (Ickey, XL, Brooks, and Sanders especially) and we can put together a solid foundation for whoever our QB of the future ends up being. That said, I think it's entirely possible we sneak into the playoffs if Dalton plays even at an average level, especially if Jonathon Brooks can come in and give us a spark in the run game mid-season. Not that Chuba is playing poorly, but that's a potentially deadly 1-2 punch with him and Brooks.
  4. I think we lose on Sunday, but keep it close. The Bengals will be playing desperate at 0-3.
  5. My God, who decided to have the Commanders wear that color socks?
  6. The Bills are giving me 2015 Panthers vibes.
  7. I never know how to take PFF TE grades because I'm not sure how much is the grade is based on blocking vs. receiving.
  8. This could be a blessing in disguise if it lets Mingo and/or XL get more snaps.
  9. I still don't think this was a Tepper decision. He would have wanted to play Bryce no matter what in hopes of him turning it around. It's far more likely Dave Canales initially said he was sticking with Bryce because he knew this, but then saw the tape and talked to a few players and realized he was losing the team and HAD to go to Tepper and say "look, this has to be done."
  10. The media is all about their narratives. It makes more sense for them to just blame the Panthers organization than watch the tape and realize just how bad Bryce has been. Admittedly it's a lot easier when the organization is a complete dumpster fire, but two things can be true at the same time.
  11. You get the sense that the Pats are going to run the most boring offense in the NFL no matter who is at QB. I do wonder, though, if taking the old school approach to QB development (sitting them early, playing them year 2 at the earliest) might actually be the way to go. I'm not sure there's any real evidence that the results were significantly better during that era than they are today, but if you're not a good team and don't have much hope to make the playoffs maybe it's better to be safe than sorry?
  12. You know, as bad as he was last year, he really HAS been so much worse this year. It makes me think there's something else going on here beyond just typical regression. You have to remember his best game last year was on Christmas Eve and everything since has been a complete disaster.
  13. The OL's pass blocking has been by far the biggest silver lining so far. That was priority #1 this offseason and it appears our plan actually worked for once.
  14. I'd just assume re-sign Dalton than sign any of them, but I wouldn't mind kicking the tires on Cooper Rush and/or Jarrett Stidham.
  15. I'm surprised it doesn't come with a bag of poo.
  16. Disagree. I REALLY like Cam Ward. I liked him at Washington State and he's been even better with Miami so far. I'd 100% draft him with the 1st pick.
  17. I mean, I get it but it's easy for Florio to tell these other people what decisions they should make regarding their future career. Right now the narrative nationally is that Bryce's failure is 100% on Tepper and the Panthers organization. If/when Andy Dalton comes in and plays much better I think a lot of that will die down as people begin to realize that, along with the many failures the organization made around him, Bryce himself was also just not playing well enough. I also think if Dave Canales can show that he's a good offensive mind and playcaller that will help relieve any anxiety regarding the team from QB prospects. Also, I think the notion of prospects refusing to play for certain teams is overblown. It's only happened a few times ever and there have been some very bad teams picking #1, which BTW, we aren't by any means guaranteed to be picking. It's still just week 3.
  18. Although, I would not mind kicking the tires on Aidan O'Connell in a potential trade scenario. He actually showed some real potential last year.
  19. Grant DuWho now? I'd take a 3rd + a conditional 4th that could become a 1st in 2026 if he plays well.
  20. Probably but it's too soon to tell. We don't know what this team looks like with remotely competent QB play. It could be that the receivers end up looking good with Dalton at QB. If the OL continues to improve (they've been solid) and it looks like we've got a some decent options at receiver then it probably makes sense to draft a QB if we're in position. Having said that, I would absolutely look to trade down if we get the #1 pick. If we can move down to #5-8 and still get a QB (Cam Ward is my favorite right now) while picking up some more draft capital that would be great.
  21. Blindsided? How can anyone NOT have seen this coming? I get they're his family and all, but come on. This clearly had to be done.
  22. They didn't need competition; we have one of the better backup QBs in the NFL. Unless they were going to take a QB in the 1st round there was no point in drafting some 3rd round half-measure.
