Edge K'Lavon Chaisson to the Panthers
Jay Roosevelt replied to Jackie Lee's topic in Carolina Panthers
Low risk/high reward deal for a former 1st rounder. Nothing wrong with it. -
The only centers I would consider in either the 2nd or 3rd round are Jackson Powers-Johnson (likely gone by #33), Sedrick Van Pran and Zach Frazier. They're the only top-quality pure centers in this class, IMO. Otherwise, I'd focus on WR/TE/EDGE in those rounds and go with Austin Corbett as the center.

BOLD Prediction: Defense will be Better not Worse
Jay Roosevelt replied to WUnderhill's topic in Carolina Panthers
I trust Evero about as much as I ever have any coordinator we've had. He'll figure it out. -
S Jordan Fuller visiting this week
Jay Roosevelt replied to UNCrules2187's topic in Carolina Panthers
Well yeah; he was still under contract obviously, but there did seem to be an effort made to convince him to want to stay rather than stay just because he was under contract. I don't expect he'll be here much longer regardless because if we have any amount of success (as in win more than 4-5 games) he'll be a hot HC candidate sooner rather than later, but in the meantime I love the combo of him and Canales as our playcallers. -
Let's draft Tom Brady 2.0 while we're at it.

You get the sense Evero has a lot more input on personnel this year. Maybe something he was promised to convince him to stay? -

Offensive Line investment across the NFL
Jay Roosevelt replied to frankw's topic in Carolina Panthers
It's also why the teams with good OLs tend to be among the better teams in the league. It's a bigger edge to have a good OL than it's ever been. -

What will Dionte Johnson’s attitude be on the Panthers?
Jay Roosevelt replied to hepcat's topic in Carolina Panthers
The fights don't bother me. We need some of that. The complaining... well, at least he'll be in sync with the fan base -
Jadeveon Clowney visiting Panthers
Jay Roosevelt replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
He's good against the run, but so-so as a pass rusher IIRC. It depends on the money for me. -
One of the most overrated Panthers ever.

REPORT: Panthers in the running for Patrick Queen
Jay Roosevelt replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
He's an upgrade over Luvu; better in coverage and younger. -
Wonder if we're looking into bringing back Hassan Reddick? I know the Eagles are looking to trade him.
