I was on the Cross bandwagon. Tried to tell y'all, but everyone wanted Ickey or Evan Neal.

He'll show you flashes and then poo the bed. Hard to say if he's a bust or just needs more time to develop. People forget he was viewed as a very raw player coming into the draft. He played well as a rookie but not as good as many seem to think. We shouldn't jump the gun with him but if he continues to struggle at tackle we need to move him inside in the offseason and sign or draft a true LT. For the record, I was a Charles Cross fan in that draft and had him as the #1 tackle prospect specifically because he was a good pass protector. You can have all the big "hog mollies" up front you want but if they can't protect the QB then it doesn't matter how well they are in other areas. Having said that, Ickey would be an outstanding guard so I don't think all is lost if he doesn't turn it around and left tackle.

Has there ever been a team where every starter on one side of the ball ended up on IR? If not, we could be on our way to being the first.

You have to have enough game tape that teams value you in a trade. Nobody wants to trade for a guy who has missed more games than he's played. He's just injury prone.

Of course just when YGM is starting to not play like hot garbage he gets injured.

Route running. That's generally what separates the mediocre WRs from the good and the good from the great. Far too many wideouts try to out-athlete the defenders. That may work in college, but not in the NFL unless you're Tyreek Hill or something and have Olympic speed.

He's been up and down. I still think he'll be good long-term, but consistency has eluded him so far.

Nobody wants a positive vibes only thread; things are too shitty for that. But just a little less wallowing in the poo would be nice. I've seen far too many serious threads/discussions hijacked by people who seem to do nothing but post about how bad Bryce Young is and how he's the biggest bust since Jamarcus Russell and can't throw the ball 3 yards past the LoS. Some of us occasionally want to have serious, logical discussions about film review, schemes, and individual player performance without the thread immediately being hijacked by 10 people whose only contribution is trolling those of us who want to have those discussions. The fact that some of the most vocal thread hijackers are actually mods only makes things that much worse.

I think the chances we don't end up picking in the 1st round are about 0%. If we don't get a 1st for trading Burns in the next couple weeks then we'll almost certainly trade up into the 1st round.

There's plenty to be negative about, but then there's the folks who are unreasonably negative and won't accept anything that conflicts with their mood.
