Theres not one person at the start of the year thought the texans had more talent. Period. For a good part of the season texans had 4 OL backups starting each week. Stroud did what everyone hoped young would do, he elevated the team to new highs. I honestly think byce took the panthers down the depths more, dalton would have gotten at least 5 wins and boosted the WR and TE receiving yards/TDs. Given byce is still the QB, I believe that going to make siging FA WR/TE much harder, no matter the $$$$$.

These dip poo opinions are ruining the huddle for me. Tua was in the fuging MVP talks for most of the season, one bad game in sub zero temps with a team that histrionically sucks at freezzzing temps and now hes a turd??? Hurts would have be a MVP if not of the terrible team finish, holy fug Im losing brain cells here.... Not to mention some of the worse opinions on great HCs when the panthers are the worst losing team of the last five years. On size alone he should have been out of the discussion for the fuging #1 overall pick. I dont want to hear any BS about his combine weight and wilson or murray are the same "size". All were false then and false now. Byce needed to walk on water to over come his limited size. He didnt throw at the combine or pro day, that should have told the remaining believer "wait he doesnt want to compete??". Right then if he threw under the same conditions along with levis or stroud, it would caused him to drop. The think tank should have went to him/agent and say " we are not drafting someone whos scared to compete " " hes got to throw at the combine ". Just a massive fcuk up.

Best I remember they interview lots of guys and had a stale period, basically no one wow'd them. Then pat stewart got a call form finnererererer saying hed like to interview and got the job shortly after.

Im still pissed that during coofus 2019, first year Rhule and his first year staff didnt punt that year. No crowds, it was the perfect time to "reset/rebuild". You would have gotten the cap under control too along with adding draft picks to future years. It was soooooooooooo dumb to try and win that year. I know it would have been hard for some, but long term it would set them up for winning consistently. Ever year with maxing out the cap on bad players/pushing future payments with the hope that "ooo this is the year", just piss poor management. Sad part is they didnt even reach the 5 win goal of the recent "rebuild/this is the YEAR!!" seasons.

If you look over the talent, he fought way above his weight class. Thats a rare trait these days. I mean Id non-stop run the ball with a prime henry too, could not care less what the insighters/podcasters said. Both Ive cooled on him, still want that young offense leadership. I guess frank smith is the pick.

FYI- panthers were a 4-3 team the year before. It takes 3 years to get the correct players for that switch. Add in the injuries, I thought he did great. Hope Im able to see what hes got for year 2.

One of the reasons they were able to keep Nick happy was the boosters are willing to spend whatever the price is. Plus if the new guy is able to keep Nicks best recruiters there, the machine will stay competitive.

I thought the wash HC had already agreed?? You can get a lot bang for buck there(house land wise), but if you have a family, pass.... Its also got some of the most dangerous areas in the US. Still Nick ran the state and you had to pay him a tax upon entering. He leftd a great team, but the portal could ruin it fast.

Last year I thought he was a darkhorse. After dallas got better and chargers got worse. Thats a killer blow to the HC hype for me.

His defense is still elite. His drafting and offense decisions, looking 2023 panthers bad. If you could get him to allow a good GM roster control, hes dangerous to any opponent. He did go 10-5/6 with corral. Not to defend his awful draft history, but for a good 10 year span, at best he was drafting 28th. Thats each round, but he didnt help with the 4th string rutgers CB 2nd round picks and 4th round navy FB stuff. The main deal is this, teams still use his defense plan afterwards. Just like he gave the blueprint to stopping the rams in the SB, he does that against everyone.

That was the most hyped 4-8 season in football history.
