Mel kiper Jr had dart in the top ten last week, going to the iants. Others have had him in the top ten as well, better drafters than mel. There is buzz, Im as confused as Nix and Penix Jr. last year. No one, I repeat no one had penix to the failcons.

LOL@ prince!! but that guy had tendon strength and would D you up- it didn't matter PG, SG, SF, PF.

"All I got to do is block 6'5 285 LBs edges??... I got diss "

I agree, there are other ways to get open. AT when healthy shows proof as well. Jason Witten got open til he was 37, retired and came back. Plus just like Tmac, he was the whole show on offense. Teams just had to focus on warren, still couldn't stop him. Unlike all the players I want, warren is great human. I also agree he would put in all the time. I still have huge reverses about even getting a little open to the point where the QB would toss him a pass. I'll say this, let a offense mind get a hold of him (Reid, mcvay, shanny, O'Connell, etc) I believe that could decide his career. Panthers don't have one of those coaches.

Panthers bring in DT Walter Nolen for 30-visit
Basbear replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
It seems I only like the most troubled prospect this draft- Tmac, Nolen, Pearce Jr, green....... Im a toxic magnet ... -
I just worry about him being able to separate and get space/open. I personally do not think he will be able to get targets due to LBs, safety, and DBs being inside his jersey.

Again Im speaking in top ten terms. You want 6'5 285 LBs with off-chart drills. He's got the drill part, but just alittle small. Von miller is the only edge/OLB that's been able to hold his own in both run and pass defense. Reddick outside the the top ten, but insane drill/combine. You want garrett, watt, or alt. Real freaks, thats the main point of draft 8th or better overall- the total package.

I think he does, but right this moment I think some team trades into 4-7. I believe what everyone else has- ward, Carter, and hunter are the top three locks. After that either Campbell, trade/snaders, Walker, jeanty are the next picks in no order. Panthers take Williams with Graham on the board.

I mean the main reason for not talking about ezeiruaka at 8 is cause no one else has. I think he's in the massive size tier 2 group 4-44... He's short if your talking top ten traits......which is why Im not high on walker. He could be rising as we post in this thread, wait until one week before and you may hear him into the top ten.

Carter to 3, would cause the trade calls to light up. I don't see giants and Carter a match. They already have too much invested at edge. The gamblers called this days ago. It still feels like ward, Carter, and hunter will be the first 3 picks.

Panthers Prospect Visits/Meetings (Final Update-4/22)
Basbear replied to kungfoodude's topic in Carolina Panthers
Im right there with you. This is a good-great year for drafting mid-round QBs. Plus if there is ateam that can carry 3 QBs, its the Panthers. It would be good insurance if BY gos awful again or his asking price is spacey. The staff or Dave is a modern QB "guru", let him pick one starting in the 4-5 rounds. -
Ryan Fowler: Panthers hosting Texas A&M Shemar Stewart

Hes done a few GM and HC research posting and it was levels above any other source. His Fittererere love doesn't apply here... -

If they draft Stewart at 8th, I will ask @Mr. Scot for a list of GMs and might as well ask for HC too..... -

Not that its needed, but another layer to this mess is the NFC south has been the worst division during the tepper. Soooooo the worst team in the worst division.........just sad...so sad..... the fuging YUCS just win 9-10 games and that's all it takes for the NFC south. You have to try and be this bad. Plus Ive been asking there's no extra cap space and barely any talent??? That cannot happen without bad decisions and poor drafting. I still don't see a winning NFC south record either, I think the max is a spilt for Panthers. In fact I want to Panthers record over in the NFC south over the years....hmmm -
Panthers Prospect Visits/Meetings (Final Update-4/22)

I do not want nor have the energy to start a sanders vs BY topic..... Heres where Im at, what else is Titans Levi's or colts Arich going give in a trade...... Im no sanders fan, but it wouldn't bug me if caralas/Brandt/tepper/who____ wanted to go another route.....yes its been a QB whirlwind since ...to long.... still Im not sold on the skill and talent of one BY. I think this is first year in many in which Carolina with have the same HC, QB, and GM. Its been a mess... -
I think remember doing mock Sims for Carolina as many others, I don't think any of picked RBs in any rounds.... I honestly had the same "my team let me down" feels with the BY pick........just WHY all the holes and one of the spots were they have depth AND the RB market is at the lowest point in NFL history..... Just a Per normal the huddle was for all for Zach Frazier, not me I wanted Marshawn Kneeland. Plus I wanted to REMAIN AT whatever LA pick and NOT TRADE UP FOR A ACL injuried RB. My friend was right, Dan did draft like he was still playing in his era..... ugh, Brandt and Dan cannot have that same problem this year......its beginning year 2 of a full 3 year rebuild..... for fugs sake, please find some talent and depth in later rounds....

Ryan Fowler: Panthers hosting Texas A&M Shemar Stewart
Basbear replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I would support that decision. FYI- I wanted to do that after the BY pick.....(just for a couple of minutes)/// Edit- I feel there are some that wouldn't even want Stewart at 57, I'd like to see the others, but that's where I'm ready for the heat.... even if they used the 8th on a edge or DE. -
heres a good piece on shemar stewart- https://www.sbnation.com/2025/2/20/24368685/shemar-stewart-nfl-draft-profile-texas-am

For the second round, right Brandt/Dan??? -
One thing the panther normally like to have with their draft picks including 1st, was younger age. Coofus and NIL has torn that up, but its still in their ranking system I bet. Guess who is the current youngest panther- brooks..... Tremble was younger than many in this past draft and he was heading into his 4th year. Icky was a young 21.
