  1. Nearly all teams pass on Cs if you are talking value. I mean name one C drafted in the top ten that you can remember?(I got nothing and I was a former draft nut) Plus remember Kalil fell to the Panthers and forced them to draft him even with hartwig was here with a big contract. For me C is just like TE and DT(well it use to be), its soooo undervalued. To me center makes the OL go, but come draft day and pay day, teams disagree.
  2. They signed troy hill who's the same age, he did play better than chinn as a NB.......but given horn missed more than he's played its easy to say CB is the biggest need/want for either 2nd rounders. My thing is they normally carry only 4 CBs- horn, jackson, hill, _______ . That's one sad bunch when horn goes on his yearly IR visit.
  3. Even if they signed Gilmore, they'd still need to draft his replacement. Same for clowney too. Just sooooo many holes on this roster, you can say every spot minus OG, browns spot, and young you need to use a draft pick on. I think they already offered gilmore some 4 million deal, but he's looking for more/last big pay. Plus I don't think he wants any of this rebuild, while clowney took the 2 year cheese after 4 teams in 5 years.
  4. Ive heard for a good draft guru, that even late into the 3rd starting WRs will/should be available. I echo those who say if it's an overpay trade the 33rd, if not pure BPA.
  5. There was a report(panther leak?) that panthers offered more money, but luvu picked wash cause he was a better fit for their defense. Quinn sold him on the angle he'd be in the Parsons role for wash. we all keep blessin evero, but you say he didn't play luvu or chinn correctly. I thought for sure luvu would have gotten more OLB and biltzin snaps, but he was a "old school" MLB role. In part shaqs injury could have forced that too. Im about 50/50 on Morgan thus far and feel the draft results are more important than giving 153 million to OGs.
  6. I agree, for me it was the worse one in panthers history. *Still I feel just decent coaching on the offense will help tons. Tremble, hubbard, theilen, Johnson, and mingo are more "average" than dogshit with a decent staff I feel.
  7. Thanks, this is a odd move now.....the main point of trading for a player with a contract is the contract. I get that a future 2nd is "worth" a now 3rd, which you could say is like comp 3rd(late). Texans did him 3 favors, let him become a FA, paid him more this year, and he moved from buffalo to Houston.
  8. I would not be surprised if some teams have him off their board completely. Depends on team doctor judgement with him, its almost 100% of the reason.
  9. This post is one year too late for me, Im out this year. Huge deal if he could not get even a jersey on game days last year. You can blame coaches or young, but most of the blame goes to TMJ. If I was Danny boy, Id be calling other teams asking about their 2020 1-3 round disappointments to trade. Like who knows if a team change could spark either player, but I believe its best for panthers to move on. That said I would not cut him before OTAs or TC, no point unless he turned into a cancer. Don't care about him wanting to be traded either, this is the NFL earn it!
  10. I think its a decent chance if he's there at 33rd, he should be BPA. Honestly need the medical staff to weigh in, that's the true test. We got no idea if he's already got knee arthritis or if he's a young 16 year farmhands health looking knee. I still remember when James talked about ACL on Peterson's knee I can not find it, but he also said Peterson knee showed NO wear and tear, unreal for a NFLer. Who knows what Payton's knees looked like before and after.
  11. I still think draft 2 in the 2-4 rounds is the way. TMJ should be cut, Adam and donte are FAs are seasons end. Mingo is the only WR on contract. Need at least more while the market keeps rising. 2 is needed even if young fails.
  12. I seen somewhere that he's still on a deal for like 18, 19, 16 in 25, 26, 27.....just no more guarantees. A little confused, which is it a FA in 25 or 18 for 2025 with no guarantees? What does ability to be a free agent mean, diggs can be like "peace out fools, Im a free agent" after the year? I think Texans could do that if the 31 year old diva shows age. idk.
  13. You get out of mind and stop stealing my post before I do!!111!!!!
  14. I keep going up with him. At first I didn't even want to use the 3rd on him, but time has changed my opinion. The main deal is he most compares to Luke, whom went 9th overall. If you look hard at tape and measures, he is a little BETTER than a HOFer Luke...... So that's needed to overlook his injuries, which only TD played with 3 ACLs and Payton's got 2. Now Im willing to go 39th and 33rd is in the realm too. Im deeply worried about the injuries, but its been 2 years of health.....sure the NFL is a big man league and all, but he's Luke 2.1 college wise. So right now even though panthers should NOT risk early 2s on a player with big injury issues, the reward tells me "You better run and count your blessings if he's NOT a 1st." So 39th and the arrow is still up, 33 is not off the table. FYI this by all means is shaqs last season and the only other LB is Jewell. LB has the least depth and talent on the team. I honestly think one of the teams 20-32 will take the risk and gamble. Plus Id love to hear a pro NFL doctor comment on his medicals too.
  15. While you have a winner at QB on a rookie deal, it is super big brain to go hard. Texans are right about the way are doing this, envy as a panther fan..
  16. This may be the only spot I feel this way about, but no need to invest here. Each year there are big name FAs and cuts *for now. Just sign one at a below market cost and use draft picks on DL, OL, CB, and WR. Herniay always pissed me off about using draft picks here, then he'd over pay by miles as well. RB market is bargain central and loads of players to go around. Plus RB is one of the better UDFA spots with success.
  17. This maybe, well not correct of saying- I feel they lost talent overall, *but got better fits. So does that mean they improve?? That's one formula model I haven't crack. Example college BB roster. One team has stayed together all 4 years and the other is the 5 star freshman group. WHo wins? I've seen both sides win before. Panthers got some players that had some of their better seasons with the coaches. Like Im the biggest luvu guy there is, but I think Jewell will have more impact *as a pure LB/MLB.(I'd put luvu as OLB other side of Burns and told him to kill the person with the ball.) So I think they will play better as a team, but I still feel winning over 2 games would be just as hard as this past year given the decrease in overall talent. The true fix to this is young talent. Period!. That's mainly comes from the draft. I will feel better once Danny boy starts drafting some.....hell just decent/average players would be a improvement.....
  18. He's ALWAYS getting into mini-fights every game during STs. Honestly I had hopes hed turn into a TD58 version, but being a ST ace is gold as well...
  19. laugh if you want, YGM had his best year. Djax played 16 games most as the #1 CB since horn was being horn. Bell play above average Id say and was cut with no cap help. Gruger-hill and Jones were vet backups at LB, I haven't seen them replaced either.
  20. Yes and I need to see how he attacks the draft.
  21. Take this as a pure rumor- panthers loved barton and are eyeing him with the 33rd. @Verge what have you heard??
