Round 2 - Panthers Select Nic Scourton at pick 51
Basbear replied to Bear Hands's topic in Carolina Panthers
One thing I heard about evero was, he was a amazing blitz play caller.....3 years later Im still waiting. This is the last straw for me, this year show me. period. I do feel both Ransom and Moehrig can play together or hope that's a option. The NT is no longer a excuse with Bobby brown. Besides they signed turttle and KEPT him after so-so seasons. No excuses, have a old type Panthers defense rank feel to this year or fire his arse mid-season. -
hunter can play safety... fug you NFL

@Zod this is the huddle without leadership- If you don't sale this joint, please please name a president/manager/CEO person that can help this place. The Mods are bouncers, you need a manager or managerS. 1740794342237308.webm -

My best prediction depth chart after draft and udfa signings...
Basbear replied to KillerKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
That's fine by me, he can still start and after a few series let the young nic/prince get snaps. Nic is the youngest player in the draft, too young for grown 27 year old men-beast OTs Prince could do some 3rd and long/ passing downs snaps, but he's not ready either. Need to wait until 2026, when Panthers must hope they are ready. I hate to see clowney cut and I do feel that's a real option... ugh just hold on to him and if its another 2-5 win season, trade him at the deadline. I bet his value would be higher than right now. -
about 42 minutes after the draft, my roster brain kicked in(just like past years). I even thought- " I need to ask HMS to do a waaaaaay too early 53 roster, *so* I can copy your template with a few changes". But you went with words and killerkat got his stolen!! Nice to have fellow sicko fans!!!

Round 4, Pick 20 (#122) - Lathan Ransom, SAF, Ohio State
Basbear replied to Icege's topic in Carolina Panthers
We dont know what happened with the clowney reports. (he could be asking for $$$ or trade, idk)I agree with you, his value is near zip. Even 6 years ago in his "prime", only a late 3rd was given for him. Since then hes been on one year deals until the panthers gave him 2 years. 5 years of one year deals, that's no faith..... I know during TC last year, moton, icky, ANY OLmen could not block him. He played too many snaps this past year due to the serve suckage of edge Panthers. My honest take- the Panthers want to use that 7.8 in cap else where and I mean even as a "2026" roll over. *Or they want asked around and think he's a 5 million player, thus want him to take a pay cut. I hope they "makeup" and he remains a Panther. Nic maaaaayyybe ready to start a few games, not 17+ gulp....playoffs?!?!?! Prince is NOT ready, minus 3rd down and long. Nic is the youngest player in the draft........allow clowney to stay and if around the trade deadline, if all playoff hope is lost, trade him for whatever. This is the way.... Use the IQ Brandt/Dan!!! -

Maybe offer to buy a portion of the huddle since Zob wants a end of the rainbow offer. New funds could improve this place and bring back others.... -

Tmac should be starting this yr. That's one... *Next year either Nic or Prince should be starting.. Thats two. I mean with the clowny trade/cut talks heating up, it could be right now... I hope Clowny stays and both rookies season-up some. Now I feel even with Icage saying Ransom is the backup to Morn, he can start this season. He's got what starting safety have and played in heavy pressure in front of 100,000 fans. He's mentally ready if need this year. I honestly hope they put him out and see if its possible. Now NT Cam and TE Mitchell, I give both a 20% chance to start 2026. Not to......well yes, the TE group is among the weakest, Mitchell just needs to be better than Tremble and Sanders= 20%. Going far out on the "Panthers could have 3 starters" limb, if slot is considered a starter, in the next few years Horn *could be a starting slot. If slot qualifies, I gave horn 2% chance to take over that role. Etienne I feel has the longest shot at filling the starter role, even less than Horn....which horn could win the starting PK or KR job...but Im not going to count that in my "3 starter" statement. .01% chance I mean, Im huffing the new draft hope sent and all. I think when we revisit this after two full off seasons, 3 starters could happen. That would make it a A+ and have early "best" draft talks... Bump this and let some mod lock it after Im right..... -
Round 1 - Panthers Select Tetairoa McMillan at Pick 8

You guys can pull the crazy take on my statements. Ill try to word it better, but Im the worst at that.. Remember waaaay back to a fresh trying to prove himself steve smith was drafted. I swear the body type and movement, I see young steve "trying to get on the field" smith. Not saying he will be a HOFer, just he reminds me of green smith. fire away.. -
They are treating him like all NFL teams treat their QBs.
-
Agents or player hate to admit its for a "try-out", sounds much better to say you signed on the roster... You just signed a injury wavier...... The truth will show soon enough, watch on the official panther website about what's real.
-
I'd agree with that. I like this new aggressive UDFA model. It had a great start last year.
-
Yea, too many, but some maybe try-out guys. I always thought its better to leave 1-2 spots open on the 90, for claims or try-out stud sign room. I hate this part of the NFL meat grinder, players that recently got signed are going to get cut for this growing UDFA pool.

Round 4, Pick 20 (#122) - Lathan Ransom, SAF, Ohio State
Basbear replied to Icege's topic in Carolina Panthers
I have a tougher scale than others and gave it a nights sleep. I feel its a solid "B". They knew Tmac in the 1st, would have no WR equal in the 2nd/57. Nic was rated in the 20s on many boards, Im sure on NFL ones too. It was the smart move to draft that way, plus since they seem............ committed to BY and he was throwing with Tmac(bonding). BY told the whole staff to draft him. They changed gears lots, but didn't pay future picks. They were not going to fill all the needs, just how bad it is. But I feel the DL has enough talent and depth now. They will be cutting players that other teams will want. They attacked the UDFA at DBs, maybe one of two stick. I feel it was a smart outcome and half of players dropped below their true value while in the range of the Panthers pick. Part of it was due to 3-4 vs 4-3, but I thought overall they played a great "draft" game. I think its higher than normal odds that 3(maybe more) starters will come out of this draft too. That alone would make it "A+", but that's after two full years before it plays out, until then solid "B". -
Ugh Im not the one that should do this. Here is the deal- Top 51 counts before the season starts. Soon after the final cut and teams get ready for week one- All 16 players on PS, all players on IR, and the 53 count against the cap. Unless the rule changed.. Panthers gave Jacolby George 215,000 guaranteed. The salary for PS during the year is same number. So Panthers guaranteed him a spot on the PS for the year. *If he gets cut and claimed/signed on another, that 215,000 would be dead cap. It's sorta of loop hole, provided he remains on team. I believe the PS guarantee limit is 365,000(??) to prevent teams from signing 16 to full deals.
