  1. If we trade him. Who are we replacing hIm with? I’m not against it providing the compensation is right and we have a replacement. I liked that Ravens trade scenario floating around a few weeks ago.
  2. Great stuff as always. Do you think Malik can be an outside WR? With AT in the slot and the slot being Mingo’s natural position I think we really need some outside WRs. I don’t know enough about Malik to know if he is that kind of WR or not…
  3. Yeah and I’m saying that’s really not the case. It was a 6.2 YPA boring ass Reich offense we have seen all year. There was just a lot more attempts so 2 went for the 25 plus instead of 1.
  4. Here is when the WR turns to look for the pass. I mean they each have a foot inside the same yard marker. If you think that’s 3-5 yards I’m not sure what to tell you.
  5. I’m saying 2 passes over 25 yards out of 58 attempts featuring 6.2 YPAs isn’t much better than any other game. Our redzone offense looked better. That Dalton game gets overhyped on here a lot. I mean the Commanders offense looked better when Brissett went in for Howell. Part of it is also just experience.
  6. Yeah one was 25 to AT and the other was 27 to Chark who ran another 20 yards afterwards (just posted the video). Thats not really airing out downfield. It was 6.2 YPA that’s .7 more YPAs than Young’s bottom of the league 5.5. I’m still surprised we threw it 58 times. Andy was icing his old shoulder after that game for sure. I’m sorry about 2 out of 58 attempts were completed for over 25 yards and again 6.2 YPA doesn’t look like much of an upgrade to me. Our offense sucked all around last year.
  7. Confidence, play calling (Reich even said Dalton wrote in some plays for him to call), a weak secondary, experience? Plenty of reasons that happened. Looks like Dalton hit one 47 yard bomb the next long was in the 20s? He also averaged 6.2 yards per attempt that game. I wouldn’t refer to that as significant improvement? Hell 20 of that 47 yard reception was YAC. Here is the one pass over 25 yards out of 58 that game.
  8. I’d be down for this trade https://lastwordonsports.com/nfl/2024/01/31/brian-burns-trade-ravens-panthers/#:~:text=According to an article by,quest for the Lombardi Trophy. Hypothetical Trade We’d Love to See: EDGE Brian Burns for 2024 first-round pick, 2025 third-round pick and EDGE David Ojabo Ballentine’s proposed tag-and-trade with Baltimore would actually be a tremendous deal for both teams. The Ravens would get a more proven pass-rusher than Devid Ojabo, while Carolina would refill its draft cache.
  9. Honestly we still would need some work . We need a couple years of that IMO.
  10. Then it’s simply a timing issue. The video I posted had Burton in stride while having good coverage on him. His arm has the ability to get it to his target. He will need muscle memory and timing to zero in on accuracy if you are saying that’s the issue. Hell I’ve seen QBs with cannons struggle with deep passes.
  11. That’s different when you are talking about a physical ability of a player. He needs “5-6 yards and a running start” to throw the ball 40 yards but he didn’t in college. Also he doesn’t if they are open? It’s some flawed logic. You could argue he doesn’t have the confidence to attempt it or the play calling/protection is preventing him from doing so, but saying he flat out can’t when he has is just not right. At the end of the day he is getting the ball from point A to point B and it’s hitting it spot on without all the requirements you were suggesting.
  12. Yeah, I’m not sure why people can’t grasp this very simple concept. I guess it doesn’t fit a certain narrative? I’m not saying he has a great arm, just he has the ability to air it out if you can give him some time. I’m liking the new excuse of a player being open?? So if a player is open Young’s arm magically gets stronger??
  13. You are talking about the ability to throw a deep pass lol you can just put on blinders because it doesn’t fit your narrative.
  14. The second one was NFL. Thats a Panthers uniform. Also the “ability” to throw a deep pass, which is what’s in question here, doesn’t magically change based on where you are playing. Arm strength is what it is. It doesn’t go away in the pros.
  15. Burton wasn’t in the Alabama clip. Being open also doesn’t magically change someone’s arm strength lol. It can either get there or not on time. Let’s all some more addendums until we get it right.
  16. Just shows he CAN lob it up when needed. Yes he needs a pocket like many do and he steps into his deep throws again like many other do. I think we got use to Cam with his top tier arm and watching a QB with a lower tier arm is making it look exaggerated to us Panther fans.
  17. I simply don’t agree with that. He needs to step into his throw for the deep passes yes, but the rest of this is an overreaction. https://www.panthers.com/video/must-see-young-s-48-yard-pass-to-hurst-is-qb-s-longest-nfl-completion-so-far
  18. Agreed. Agents want their clients to get as much money as possible, which means get drafted as high as possible.
  19. Throwing deep doesn’t really mean you have a strong arm though. That’s my point. Deep passes are typically WR stats IMO. He can just air it out and let the deep threat go get it. It’s simply a timing thing. It’s why Foles and Minshew got Chark his only 1000 yard season. This all reminds me of the fans mocking Hill for signing to play with Tua. Thinking his arm was too weak was a popular opinion but it turns out it was irrelevant. Do people think Bryce was always running full speed when he would lob it up to Jamo in college? Hell early on this past year he was overthrowing WRs deep. It’s simply timing.
  20. No they both have weaker NFL arms. I’d say Tua and Burrow have below average NFL starting QB arms. Burrow did a lot of work after his rookie year to develop more velocity in his throws and it’s still on the weaker side. I’ve posted articles on how his playing style and accuracy has helped offset his weaker NFL arm.
  21. Chark’s best seasons featured Foles and Minshew throwing him passes. Again showing arm strength isn’t needed for deep threats. Tua and Hill have created great chemistry and timing together.
  22. Vertical threats don’t really matter with arm strength. Tua and Burrow have weaker arms but Hill and Chase can track down deep balls they air out.
  23. 4th or later sounds right. I’d be ok if we traded back in the 3rd for him. He is long and fast. Route running can be polished up, his speed, size, and natural ability can’t.
  24. He looked great and UNC most of the year though. He really opened up their offense when he was activated.
