Sanders might not declare this year. Let’s wait and see the final list.
-
Yeah they are running wild with these guesses. Tepper and Reich have plenty of issues without the media trying to create more. My guess is he did incorporate some RPO, I mean I saw a few ran on Sunday, but didn’t dial it up nearly enough before it didn’t flow with what he was calling on the field.
-
Meddling or not Ron, Rhule, and Reich were the wrong guys. The biggest issue about Tepper’s patience is how over eager he is to find his QB. Teddy, Darnold, Corral, Mayfield (honestly Baker’s trade was solid) the trade up for Young all cost us valuable resources and we still might not have it right. Outside of that he clearly has a hiring problem. He needs to just hire Colbert to oversee this next hiring process.

Let’s see if Zavala jumped anyone this week? Nope, still dead last! Maybe next week on Zavala and Company…

Classic Zavala…

Didn’t he flat out say he isn’t on their payroll in an earlier podcast?

Everyone in the building is all in on Bryce
ForJimmy replied to Panthers Fan 69's topic in Carolina Panthers
Ryan said he had Young and Stroud as QB 1A and 1B. That's why he stayed at 2. If you have them similarly ranked you just stay put and keep the picks. I can post a link of Ryan saying this. Can you post one of him or his scouts saying "bryce ain't all that?" Think of how big of a gamble that is because at the time Vegas (which you swear by) has Stroud as the favorite to go 1 to us? If someone changes Tepper's mind into liking Stroud then Houston would be left with the guy who "ain't all that." -

I mean the internet is time stamped. Just google "2023 QB draft class" and see where most of these "experts" have them ranked. The narrative is changing to Young being forced on us but there is a ton of hindsight behind that view because of how well Stroud is doing vs Young. At the time it was no big deal and almost expected when we drafted Young. -
Honest question. If Tepper was completely removed and say Fitt, Brown, Caldwell all wanted Young while Reich wanted Carr which we passed on. Do you really think McCown (the qb coach) on even Reich would really put up much of a fight for Stroud. I do think Young or Stroud were most of our staff's 1A and 1B as they were on many analysts'. To me it seems clear Fitt was a Young guy from the beginning with his processing, point guard nonsense and never mentioning size, arm strength etc... Brown is adamant about being a Young guy and with Caldwell being the one to take over the QB room now it seems pretty clear he was a Young guy. I think we were just wrong picking Young over Stroud as a whole. It happens all the time I mean Mitch was picked over Mahomes and Brady went late in his draft. I just don't think Tepper was banging the table overriding anyone who wanted Stroud. I think more people wanted Young and he was 100% on board with it because he was a Young guy as well. It does look like Tepper rushed things and forced this trade up too soon IMO.

Frank Reich Fired as Panthers HC - Official
ForJimmy replied to NJPanthers12's topic in Carolina Panthers
They could fire the hell out of me if they want to make me that money for 10 months of shitty work. That's probably why Tepper dropped the F bomb in the locker room. He realizes how much money he just lost. -
That's kind of what I thought. He seems interested in building his portfolio in Charlotte to me...
-
For people complaining about the "firings" and not the "hirings" do you all thing he shouldn't have fired Rivera or Rhule? Everyone was pretty happy with both firings when they happened. I guess the only one in question is Reich which I don't think many were interested in keeping around. There is a HIRING issue without a doubt, but I think most of Tepper's firings have been at the right time. He needs to get rid of Fitt this offseason to pair his new GM and HC together.
-
I think it was a majority with Reich not really caring because he wanted Carr. Maybe Reich preferred Stroud, but he would have been an easy sell to switch to Young. If say Fitt, Caldwell, and Brown wanted Young with Reich preferring Carr do you think the QB coach in McCown would make too much of a stink about wanting Stroud. He probably mentioned who he preferred but he was also high on Young as an analyst before he took the QB Coach job.
-
Tepper said he chimed in once the decision was already made. He clearly wanted Young but Fitt, Brown, and others (probably Caldwell) had already voted him as the choice. With that said I'm sure Tepper made comments after the Pro Day visits and who knows who that swayed.
-
It wasn't some shocking overreach that Young went 1. Most places had him as the top QB and yes they were wrong, but the narrative is taking a crazy turn. Tepper didn't make us reach for some random QB while everyone else wanted Stroud. The only reason Stroud was the leader at first is because of his style of play and Reich's style of offense. People had concerns about Stroud under pressure which has been proven to be a nonissue so far.
-
Yeah he had an established HoF QB with some left in the tank and he made it work. Did they even win a playoff game though? I'm sure Sirianni as his OC helped to a degree as well. They seemed to work well together.
-
Frank made it work with Wentz… oh wait they traded him after a year. Luck? No he retired after a year of Frank and getting hit on every play… Matt Ryan?? Nope he was washed up like everyone thought. Frank made it work with the Eagles when Pederson was calling plays.
-
Frank wanted Carr
-
They get carried away as usual. Tepper wasn't calling plays and didn't overrule everyone by selecting Young. You could tell Fitt wanted Young the whole time. Thomas Brown is a big Young guy as well. Everyone wants a scapegoat, but this mess was a collaborated effort.
-
Love Brown as an Auburn fan he is one of my favorite players. I agree in building a defense around him, but I am also ok if we do a FULL rebuild and trade off our players for draft assets. Trade off any player with a good value return and rebuild from scratch is an option as well.
-
Classic Reich. As seen by our OL and overall offense not fitting the scheme. Reich picks his scheme and forces the players into it not matter their skillset. It's dumb and dated.

We jumped to 1 because Houston wasn't moving fast enough. We were afraid we would miss on Young/Stroud if they took too long, so we jumped them to pick one and then preferred Young over Stroud if given the choice. It doesn't mean it was the right choice, but the story adds up. Houston eventually didn't think it was worth it to jump to 1 so they just took whichever one we didn't. Ryan said they had Stroud and Young as 1A and 1B.
