They are all faking it! In fact Young is faking the fake injury and is actually hurt.

Panthers expect Bryce Young to miss 1-2 games (Athletic)

We are going to do whatever the doctors say. Young is set to miss 1-2 games. That doesn't mean the doctors said that? -

We are going to trust the doctors. Whatever they say is what we are going to do. What do you think that means? Then it is stated he would miss 1-2 games. Keep grasping man. I stated the doctors said 1-2 weeks as that is what they are doing. That's a pretty safe assumption based on that sentence. -

Then try reading the article from this OP or is Corbett in on this conspiracy too? He is also referencing the doctors. The only people who know are stating one thing. The people who don't have a clue like me and you are making up nonsense and rolling with it like it's a fact. “I have complete trust in our doctors. I’ve been working every single day with them for eight months. Whatever they’re saying, whatever they’re seeing with what they need to do with Bryce, that’s what they’re gonna do,” Corbett said. “I think we made a turning point in this game, kind of the culture shift of being smarter with guys rather than just shooting people up (with painkillers) and being back on the field.” There’s no sense in rushing back Young if he’s less than 100 percent. This was always going to be a rebuilding year, and getting a week (or more) to take a breath and heal up probably isn’t the worst thing. Dalton said there are two trains of thought on that. -

https://www.panthers.com/news/moving-forward-through-uncertainty-at-quarterback-before-seattle Reich stated he is leaning on team doctors more than anything and the next day it states Young could miss 1-2 weeks with his injury. What doesn't smell right? A DL landed on his ankle rolling it and it hurt him? It's not bad enough to need a boot which is why it's 1-2 weeks. You can make anything not smell right if you want. "All three have a say in the decision, obviously, weighing most heavily the doctor, then the player, and then the coach," Reich said. "Because what I've learned over the years is A – I'm not a medical doctor, so trust what the doctor says; B – trust the player because players know their body; C – as the head coach, try to navigate and do the right thing for the team and the player." -

"Everything to date indicates the ankle isn't serious" aside from the small face of team doctors telling them he should miss 1-2 games. Everything else as in random Huddlers watching a clip of him walking on a field (in which he has a limp). Walking on the field to get valuable mental reps is far from being "heavily on it every day." Look you are free to believe whatever you want, I just think people love spinning stories and having these conspiracy theories even when sometimes the obvious answer is sitting right in front of you. Reich didn't want Young, Tepper forced the consensus top QB in the draft on him, and now Reich is having Young fake an injury to get himself benched. Have at it. -

You definitely pick and chose what rumors to believe. They have stated Young was the one they wanted, but they did their due diligence with the other top QBs and the more they learned the more they liked Young. That rumor isn't true though, but the one where he only likes tall QBs is true? Why is that? Did Reich not draft Sam Ehlinger who is 6'1" while he was in Indy? You are focusing too much on the play calling comment. All I was hinting at there is if he was so against Young he would be better off distancing himself from him and letting his OC call the plays. I don't think that was the case at all though. -

It's pretty irrelevant even though most of his thoughts about the position hinted at Young. Regardless the guy we gave us future and current assets for needs to be successful for Reich to stay here. Benching that guy because the owner wanted him and he didn't isn't a good career move. Even if he gets his "I told you so" moment he will be fired again. The owner apparently liked Young and everyone else claims to like Young. We bet on Young and benching him because he "wasn't the one you really wanted" doesn't matter at this point. "Faking" an injury to get him benched isn't a good move either. Young is without a doubt banged up. We saw a DL roll his ankle on that tackle and he is clearly favoring his ankle walking on the practice field. Could he play through the injury? Who knows, but why risk it? It could make the injury worse, develop bad habits for him and make him plan even worse. We aren't in some playoff race where we need him to play through these injuries. What we need is Young healthy enough to play as many games as possible this year. I really don't think Reich is as complicated as people make him seem. He is pretty straight forward IMO. -

Yeah and everything he indicated before the draft showed that Young was his choice. Wait that doesn't count though because he was just doing what he was told?? -

So let me try to understand again. Everything Reich has said about his ideal QB described Young. Young was also the top QB in this draft by a majority of analysts, BUT Reich really wanted another player and is now benching Young intentionally to show his good he (a seasoned HC with plenty of experience) is without Young???? -

Correct and if the pick fails HE fails. Reich is tied to Young. He was describing Young with the point guard comment from the beginning and mentioned size wasn’t as big of a concern. If he was truly AGAINST the pick he would be letting Brown handle the play calling as well. He wants Young running HIS offense because he wanted Young. -

Regardless he signed off on Young and is directly tied to the success of Young. Everything he has been saying is he was the guy all along and they are infatuated with him. If he is feeding us all BS and it’s really just what Fitt or Tepper wanted he won’t last here anyway. There really isn’t much to gain for Dalton looking much better. For the record I don’t think he will look that much better. To me it’s why Young is more that likely banged up/injured. -

Then the QB he went all in on was the issue. It’s not a win for him if Dalton looks much better. I don’t understand why people don’t see this? -

Meh winning games with Dalton doesn’t do much in a year we are trying to develop our rookie QB. Unless people actually believe this team is a playoff team and needs some wins ASAP. Anyone believe that right now? -
Stroud’s OL hasn’t been doing him any favors either. It’s still very early but Stroud has flashed some talent.
-
It’s as deflating as a Tom Brady Super Bowl football.
-
That guy loves some clowns!
-
But Dalton SHOULD play better at this point. Minshew SHOULD play better than AR and Mills SHOULD play better than Stroud. These teams are focused on developing their franchise QBs this year so they are rolling out the rookies week 1. Unless you have a solid QB ahead of you (which most teams picking high for QBs don’t) you roll out the high pick rookie and get him use to the soles of the game.
-
Maybe or MAYBE he rolled his ankle on that scramble where it’s clearly twisted under the defender. He looks to be DTD with no boot which means it was looked at but nothing too serious. It is dumb to roll him out there to play through it possibly making it worse and ruining his footwork. Did you watch Burrow play through his calf injury? Yuck…
-
I kind of wanted to see Bryce against a weaker secondary/defense. You bring up some valid points though.
-
Not like MAD mad, but I guess I should have used the word annoyed or frustrated at Reich for basically saying we aren't a playoff team before the season started. I wasn't calling you out, just reminding him of a conversation where our coach said it was going to start off rough this year.

Nothing we can do but sit back and see how it unfolds. Hopefully Young and the offense will look a lot better in the second half of the season and give us some optimism going into 24 with some cap space to spend. I do think we have too many holes to pay Burns. He will probably get flipped if we keep sucking and we will have a first plus some in return. Not the Rams offer, but that's a sunk cost.

If Dalton looks great I would be calling up the Jets to trade him away. If we keep sucking trade away Burns too. Get those future picks.
