  1. Fluke injuries happen all the time. I think CMC got several of his from noncontact runs/cuts. No one really cares what CJ Stroud's straight line 40 yard speed is. There is game tape of him evading pressure and rolling away while throwing off the run. That is all that really matters for his style of QB. He will step into the pocket or roll away from pressure. He isn't going to break off and take it 40 yards for a TD. No team should draft him (or Young for that matter) wanting to run him frequently. Think Burrow/Goff as McCown has referenced in his game tape.
  2. I imagine his 40 time is nothing special. Wouldn’t want some fluke injury happening when most know he is a pocket passer anyway.
  3. Fair point. I guess if you can keep the QB on edge it doesn’t matter how good the WR is. I stand corrected.
  4. Very odd, because it’s more that just Stroud there. OSU has several great players in this draft.
  5. Unless TD is also doing a smokescreen. He is smokescreening the smokescreen….
  6. Fields and Stroud are two completely different QBs. Stroud is like Mr Fundamentals who has said he learned the position by watching Brees play. Fields is an elite athlete who can run over/around defenders while throwing a nice deep ball.
  7. Well when we swap picks with Houston and get their 24 1st, we can use that pick for MHJ.
  8. Let’s put it this way, our staff thinks he is more valuable than DJ according to that report.
  9. Oh yeah the first batted ball the Huddle will riot. However if we pass on him the Huddle will riot when he has game winning drives.
  10. And even with that Brown was a force last year. Imagine when he has more run stuffing DL around him.
  11. That’s kind of how I feel. I’ve seen DJ taken out of games by solid defenses or CB play. You can’t really take away true WR1s IMO. I’ve had him in fantasy for several years and it’s hit or miss for elite production.
  12. Whoever drafts him might want to take the QB Sneak out of the playbook. It’s a shame because it’s a high percentage play.
  13. The funny thing is Stroud learned to throw/play the position by watching Drew Brees videos as @ladypantherstated in another thread.
  14. Agreed. Without Brown we would have had no run defense….
  15. Is DJ a #1 WR? He was one of my favorite players, but I feel like he was a great #2. He wasn’t a huge TD threat and would disappear some games with bad route running. Granted he had bad QB play which makes it hard to judge.
  16. Damn much faster than I thought. He doesn’t seem to play at that speed, but that just me with my inexperienced fan eyes talking.
  17. I feel like it’s being used a lot for Young to compensate for his size, but I really don’t see it as a weakness for Stroud. He finds his open WR.
