  1. I don’t think this applies anymore. Once picks are acquired they can be used. Seattle can trade Denver’s pick at 5 if they please for example.
  2. I also think I am tired of seeing Reich get paired with a FA vet like he did every year with the Colts. I want to see him and his new staff (looking at you Caldwell), draft one and develop them the right way.
  3. I know he is legit and will probably do great in the NFL, I just don't think we need to go RB in the first yet. Once our team is more complete with less holes then a player like him early makes sense. I think we can get a decent RB in the 3rd/4th for the time being...
  4. He is all over the place as most reporters are this time of year. I'm sure it's by design for the GMs. It does make the offseason more exciting though. What else would we be talking about aside from our new staff (which I'm liking!)?
  5. https://www.nbcsports.com/chicago/bears/why-justin-fields-trade-rumors-shouldnt-worry-bears-fans
  6. I couldn't really follow that logic either? Unless he is assuming we move on from him after a year?
  7. I mean the currently think he is valued higher than the first overall pick right? Otherwise the GM wouldn't say he is their guy and the top pick is for sale. They seem to prefer to keep Fields and use the number one pick to acquire more picks and actually draft players that will fill actual needs.
  8. You think the same people are running the show that were running it then?? Rhule had full roster control and just traded for Darnold thinking he was the answer.
  9. I don't know if he will be great or not. The question is would you trade the number 9 pick for him? Is he worth the number 9 pick? The answer is an easy YES. It's all irrelevant because he isn't on the trade block much less for just a first round pick.
  10. It’s hypothetical. If the Chiefs would trade Mahomes for 3 1sts would you do it? Yes. The answer is yes because that is well below his value and we need a QB. Same logic applies here (obviously much less value than Mahomes).
  11. IF Chicago wants one of these QBs in this draft? I have seen nothing that indicates that so it's really just a bunch of made up clickbait. In fact the GM has said pretty much the opposite.... https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/35420112/bears-gm-quiets-draft-debate-backs-justin-fields-no-1-qb I mean IF the Jags fall in love with a QB in this draft then all that made up nonsense can be applied to Trevor Lawrence. The point is they aren't interested in drafting one to replace their young promising existing one just like the Bears.
  12. The answer to this question is an easy yes. Most GMs without a QB would do this trade in a minute. The problem is the Bears aren't trading him and if they are it's for more than pick 9 (which is why the answer to this topic is an easy yes). Would you trade the number 9 pick for a young QB who has already flashed potential in one of the worst environments for a QB to develop? "Yes" is the answer.
  13. Don’t want Carr here, but that sounds like Stafford at Detroit…
  14. Oh I agree, but will it be a career backup like Case Keenum or someone they expect to play a portion of the year like Brissett. Even if we get the top pick we would need a vet backup.
  15. Yeah if we are trading for the top pick, it helps to do it early. That way you can build your team accordingly.
  16. Nah if we hire DeFilippo we are signing Glass remember?
  17. I’m hoping Rodgers goes there to play with Adams or Jimmy G goes there to play under McDaniels again.
  18. That’s fair and I agreed Stroud was a better thrower of a football in college. I just think you are underrating Fields throwing in college as well. I mean look at his 2019 stats over 3200 passing yards 67% 41 TDs and 3 INT all just passing stats. He throws a beautiful deep ball. It’s hard to look as good on the Bears with a bad OL and no weapons, so he has to use his legs more.
  19. They both were on loaded teams. Stroud is probably more developed as a passer, but damn Fields threw for 6 TDs against Clemson while injured. You should watch that Clemson OSU gane against. He was elite…
  20. If Purdy or Lance were healthy they could have won the Super Bowl. They were down to their 3rd string in the NFC championship game.
  21. Be careful what you wish for. The Saints have a good OL, solid defense, and some playmakers in Kamara and Olave. Give them a good QB plus the draft pick they got back for Payton they could be dangerous in the NFC...
  22. Perfect. Sit back and play it smart. If he wants to come here for relatively cheap then we can possibly work out something.
