What would a successful game for Young look like?
ForJimmy replied to TN05's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yeah if you can't operate in a pocket, defenses will seal those edges and try to make you. Both is ideal, some can survive just in the pocket if they know how to maneuver well in it. Brees actually excelled at that which is why he isn't a good comparison.... -
Dan Graziano: Panthers will trade Diontae Johnson

Coker actually looks good, but are you expecting us to look a lot worse without DJ? We are looking historically bad. Might as well develop some young guys if we are going to get demolished every week... -
REPORT: Panthers will not trade Chuba Hubbard

With the amount we have spent on OL we shouldn't have to pay for RBs. Just draft a RB2 with a late pick to play behind Brooks or sign a cheap one. -
Maybe Plummer is just that bad….

He also is stopping/giving up on routes. Not good for a culture change…. -
So OUR defense has to hold them to 3........

1. Dalton is hurt so we have no other option 2. We can't trade him right now because the dead cap hit 3. His current offers were a 4th so who cares?

This is the right answer and a dumb move. We need to be selling.
-
Number 2 is good. That was Stroud and Daniels in the past 2 drafts.
-
I’m not sure 36 with a bad Achilles would be considered prime either… Still got paid
-
It’s too expensive to trade him right now. The hit isn’t worth the return

Dianna Russian: several teams interested in Bryce Young

Keep developing this draft class (XL, Coker, JT, Brooks, Wallace should get plenty of snaps as starters). Build around DB on defense, make a decision on Horn. Hunt, Icky, and Lewis are good for the next couple years. Sell off anyone else that can get you decent value and keep drafting.
-
Young was the top QB on most boards. Luke said most GMs would draft him one, the Texans HC said they had Bryce and Stroud as 1a and 1b and he wouldn't say who he had ranked higher (which means it wasn't his current QB). He was constantly ranked QB1 more times than not. Damn near every other draft was spot on with this (I think the Baker one was a little bit surprising). Stroud just happened to be a fan favorite that turned out to be a great QB so people want to change the whole narrative.

You would have a decent OL to put him behind (maybe extend BC for center if he keeps look good), a new RB in Brooks, a young group of weapons in XL, Coker, and JT to grow with him. Our defense will still on on life support but DB coming back will help a little. The offense isn't the worst to plug a young QB in though.

Zach Wilson is another one. He struggled with the Jets but so did Geno Smith, Sam Darnold, and now Aaron Rodgers…. He has the arm talent that DC likes.

Players on expiring contracts like AT, DJ, Chuba, Woods, Sanders, etc should be flipped for picks. They are more than likely gone next year anyway. I’d consider moving Clowney or Moton for the right price as they are FAs after next year and Moton would clear out a ton of cap space…
-
They are all risky. Especially QBs.
-
I watched the first drive but had to go to a cookout right after. No regrets.
-
Still paying for Bryce…
-
His OL couldn’t do anything though. It was like watching Stroud against the Ravens in the playoffs. If you have no blocking you simply can’t make your passes at 100%. I wouldn’t use one game to write him off. He has some nice arm talent that can’t be coached.

We don’t have our 2nd… It’s the Rams pick

Panthers in the Market for a QB (again): 2025 Draft
ForJimmy replied to MHS831's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think that’s a smart move. It would be nice if we could do some 3 way trade and get Ward plus some picks out of it… -
The LSU offense seems to translate easier to the NFL. I’m assuming Kelly runs a NFL offense with progressions etc…
