https://www.pff.com/news/draft-2023-nfl-mock-draft-five-qbs-first-round-colts-trade-bryce-young Here is one where AR lands to us at 9, although I would be tempted to trade with Seattle (at 5) and grab Stroud in this scenario...

Yeah the only spending I saw in your post was a 1 year deal for Sam (should be cheap) and Bozeman extended. Everything else was current year cap savings and draft picks. I don't want Wilks as HC, but it seemed like a very logical plan for the offseason.
-
He kind of screwed over LAR with cap space and picks then bailed on them like Sean Payton did with the Saints.
-
Reich as HC Brissett as vet and AR at 9 works better for me.
-
Brissett is a FA as well. He would make a nice vet backup.
-
Damn near ANY QB could look serviceable in those situations. The problem it when one of those things aren’t working it’s an absolute disaster. Any pressure and you don’t get get a couple bad throws, you get that lovely 2.6 passer rating and an awful offense where our backup guard was our only TD scorer.

He is far from the better prospect though. Give Bennett Florida’s weapons and he would be an afterthought in the NCAA. He wouldn’t get drafted. Backup game manager is his ceiling. AR might have the highest ceiling in the draft.

Matt Waldman's Breakdown of Anthony Richardson (QB, Florida)

Unfortunately I don’t think Corral will hold much weight on decisions for our new staff. They won’t pass on a QB they like in fear of a previous coach’s 3rd round pick who found himself on IR all season. So Corral’s snap count will be irrelevant. We should sign a vet like Brissett to pair with our rookie and Corral and honestly I wouldn’t be against letting the rookie play sooner vs later and just take his lumps. -
But when we rush for 300 yards breaking a franchise record and limit his passes he can be a serviceable QB. That’s all we have to do!

Mays is some nice depth with starter potential. We need to draft a D1 OL in the late rounds every year. There always seems to be so much value there.
-
It takes more than a QB, just look at LAC with Herbert. He built his roster and his defense actually played great in the playoffs last year. It would have been a terribly move to fire him….
-
I thought the same thing, but I was wrong. Taylor is legit and has built one hell of a team. @Toomersgave me a hard dose of reality on Taylor.

Makes too much sense. I've seen several posters on here mention that with Chinn as well. Shaq, Chinn, and Luvu are a solid group of LBs plus a ball hawk safety will let Horn and CJ play more press man which is where they should excel.
-
I would think that ONE of the four will make it to 9 (Stroud, Young, AR, Levis). It's just not that common to have 4 QBs go in the top 8 in what isn't really a loaded QB draft....
-
AR won't make it to the 2nd round. I would be very happy if he does and we draft him there.
-
One of our owners will be involved in the HC hire with our GM?? No way.... Seriously though this is no big deal and I am sure they will have other consultants/staff to help with this very important decision for their franchise.
-
I think Ward went back. He really needs to go back if he hasn't declared already.... Heard anything about the Fresno QB? Haener I think?
-
He played decent his first 4-5 starts the previous year as well. After a while teams are going to make you beat them in the air and overcommit to our running game. When that happens you get games like last Sunday and many others the previous year from Sam. I'm not against him as a backup, but I completely understand why people are still very concerned about him...
-
So which QB do we think will be available at #9?

Their OL was pretty bad. At one point they had two 5th round picks starting at either tackle position. -
What about Hall from BYU? I think he declared for the draft.

Damn phone calls keep knocking me offline….

I'm an Auburn fan living in Knoxville so I watch plenty of SEC football and I don't think AR sucks at all. He is projected as a first round pick by many analysts as well. I assume by your name you are just wanting Corral to have no competition next year which makes sense...
