Honestly I think it’s better than we don’t compare the two. CJ Stroud was the gem of that draft class and the Texans got lucky. I just hope Young can develop into the QB we need him to be. I was ready to move on early in the year but something seems to have clicked with him which is promising. I hope he keeps it up and gets even better!

I’m good with Hunter winning it. Him winning the best WR and best defensive player seems like a stretch to me though…

He is trusting his pocket more and making plays from it. I’m not saying he will be the next franchise guy, but he is playing with confidence and isn’t afraid to step up in the pocket and attempt the big time throw we all were wanting him to do last year. Honestly it has me more optimistic about our HC than anything.

And he was cleared to keep playing…. That’s insane.

I grew up liking UNC but switched to Auburn when I went there which I feel is fair. It was a very expensive way to switch teams…

And Hurts was playing against our defense vs Young playing against the Eagles defense.
-
Yeah but you get those same dumb passes with Beck back there. So passing is a wash with Stockton being able to run giving him the advantage.
-
Plus Stockton is a threat as a runner which really can open up an offense. He may make some mistakes because of inexperience but Beck was making those anyway.

I’m thinking more of the hand injury he had against the Saints vs his college one.
-
Isn’t XL playing with an injured wrist? I honestly think he will get his drops corrected. The man clearly worked hard on his route running this offseason and it looks to have paid off.
-
Agreed. Even this past game look at Hurts stats paired with his supporting cast and the defense he played against. Do the same with Bryce and it’s pretty impressive. Hopefully he continues to get better.
-
You keep throwing out the stats like it’s a negative or something. Look I gave up on the guy after week 2, but if he can turn it around I’m all for it.
-
Neither QB had many yards. We slowed the game down to keep it close. You are hung up on stats without context. He wasn’t elite but he played well today. I think anyone could see that.
-
You have to look at context and not just stats. Playing on the road against a solid defense and good team. Throwing to old AT, 4th round rookie TE, rookie XL, David Moore, and Deven Tompkins…. He played well all things considered. Props to our coach too for slowing down the game to keep it close.

How did Hurts do against a very bad Panther’s defense?
