  1. That started him over Jimmy G and he got hurt? In fact they were trying to trade a proven veteran and roll with Lance. I don't understand how that isn't a glowing recommendation.
  2. That's a good way to draft another Mac Jones... Like I said before drafting a QB will never be an exact science.
  3. He threw 28 TDs and 0 INTs while completing 66% of his passes for 2786 yards. He probably didn't throw more because they were winning by enough for him to get pulled. So to make sure I am understanding correctly, you don't think that a 22 year old QB that has only attempted 102 passes in his NFL career due to injuries doesn't need more time to properly evaluate him? He is currently 56/102 for 797 yards with 5 TDs and 3 INTs as a passer (career). I just don't see how anyone can write him off from that??
  4. Lance was a good passer in college. His biggest issue in the talent level gap between his conference and the NFL IMO. Give him some time…
  5. I think Lance can still become a good QB. Like you said, it’s way too small of a sample size. They could have been shopping Jimmy G to show commitment to Lance without a seasoned starter breathing down his neck. I don’t really believe that was the case, but it’s possible. Fields has the offense scoring TDs which is why fans are excited. His throwing (while still very limited) is showing progress. If he can take that up another level he is going to be a franchise QB. I just don’t want to give away assets for another team’s QB. We tried it with Sam and Baker. Let’s try a different route..
  6. They kind of had to force their hand a little after what they gave up to draft him. It could have been more hoping he would keep developing (as he should).
  7. Being an Auburn fan, I'd be happy if we land Tank with a later pick like that.
  8. Yeah and according to this Icky sucked yesterday as well. Do you agree with that?
  9. Agreed. No more trades for QBs other teams don't want. It's a premium position and if a franchise doesn't want that player there is a good reason for it. Just draft our QB like most other franchises do. Keep trying in the draft until we get a guy.
  10. I would put his mobility right below Mahomes' level. He usually is looking to throw and when he commits to run it looks pretty awkward sometimes.
  11. Having Harrison Jr helps Stroud a lot and I am a Stroud fan.
  12. Minshew would also already know the system if we land the Eagles OC. That has to be a plus right?
  13. Imagine us drafting your favorite QB in this draft. Now imagine that same rookie QB with a fantastic mustache. Can you honestly say he is not better with a mustache??? I didn't think so...
  14. Rings and nut punching OL!! What more could us fans want?
  15. What do you mean? He has been a starter and a backup without any issues. Seems like a laid back, team first guy. As far as "mentoring" we should have a staff to help do that and develop the QB. He is Hurts backup now and Hurts seems to be developing just fine.
  16. I'm not pro Young, but he makes these pressure throws on the regular. His game is solid, his size is the only concern.
  17. Minshew. Especially if the we get the OC from the Eagles as our HC.
  18. I'm not too concerned about ACLs as they are common (he just had 2), the sternum injury seems behind him, but the one that concerns me in the AC joint shoulder injury. I don't know enough about medical to know if that can cause issues down the road. Anything with the shoulder for a QB should definitely be looked at thoroughly...
  19. If we stay in the top 5, I hope we land Stroud or Young (2nd option). Outside of top 10 and I like Penix or Richardson (2nd option). Second round I like Ward (if he declares).
  20. Penix looks legit to me. If we fall out of the top 10, I’ll be happy with Penix or Richardson.
  21. I’m not sure we will be available in the 2nd. I’ve seen him mocked at 15 to the Colts.
  22. Yeah Alabama isn't as elite as they usually are. OSU has an insanely good WR in Harrison JR, but I think the number 2 guy has been hurt for a minute. I understand if a QB can put up great numbers with lesser talent that's definitely a plus, but I don't see any QBs really doing that this yeah? Maybe Penix? Kentucky is going to finish with a similar record they have had under Stoops. Looking at some of the top young QBs in the NFL, Burrow has a loaded roster in college, Mahomes didn't really elevate Texas Tech as they finished 5-7 his last year. Herbert didn't elevate Oregon, in fact Oregon kind of held back Herbert. Tua is looking good, but was also on a loaded team in college. I guess that's why it is such a hard position to evaluate and no one really has it perfected....
  23. Stroud is still a great passer. He isn’t the “super athlete” you mold into a passer like Richardson is. He is very accurate and can make all the throws. I don’t consider him some project that has to be reworked or developed that much. I just think Young has played with more adversity and does well with it. Stroud hasn’t encountered that nearly as much.
