  1. I already responded to this earlier. The proven players got multi year contacts.
  2. Mayfield without the personality would be a nice QB! Howell seems more athletic too.
  3. Interesting… Looks like they are looking to tweak it a bit the shave off a second or two, nothing too major. It does mention how every second counts which has to be a big plus for Corral right?
  4. I agree with this. It’s in the best interest for us and for Willis if he goes somewhere else. We need help quickly and would not be the ideal staff/team to develop a QB with his talents. The bias remarks are more directed at posters thinking he will bust simply because he can run too. That is nonsense.
  5. You claimed Vick wasn’t a good passer. I showed where get got better instantly with a better coach. Then you said, but he didn’t win (referring to the playoffs). My point is that doesn’t mean he wasn’t a good passer. I showed you examples of below average QBs winning in the playoffs (in fact winning the Super Bowl) to show those two things aren’t always related. I’m not sure we can win with Darnold. He just folds so quickly under pressure and has lost the confidence of our staff and some of our players…
  6. So I can go to the Super Bowl winners (you know the ones that aren't "running qbs") and ask you a similar question. Would you rather have Nick Foles, Joe Flaco, or 38 year old Manning as your QB? If you are just using playoff wins these guys won it all. I'll raise you a Trent Dilfer and a Brad Johnson. My point is TEAMS win in the playoffs. Joe Burrow's defense shut down Mahomes for half a game, but guess who gets the credit for that win? Stafford throws 2 INTs in the Super Bowl, but guess who gets the win? Manning was under 60% completion with 9 TDs and 17 INTs with 2200 passing yards but he beat MVP Cam in the big game... I believe Manning's rating was 8.6 for the Super Bowl.
  7. I'm excited to see this man in action this season!!
  8. 10-6 and got them in the playoffs in his first full season. Keep in mind he was out of the league from his dog fighting crimes for a couple years. Imagine Vick with Reid throughout his career. Now you are switching it up though. You said he couldn't pass so I showed you how he could with the right coach, then you bring it to winning (10-6 isn't terrible), but I assume you mean playoffs wins? So no he didn't get a playoff win immediately with Reid after being out of the league for several years. I'm not sure how that proves he couldn't pass the ball?
  9. Take a look at what happened when Vick went to Andy Reid's Eagles. That's when he starts breaking 3000 passing yards (not great but still solid) and broke 60% completion percentage with 21 TDs and 6 INTs in 2010 (his first full season in that offense). Again these aren't crazy numbers but a huge jump from what he was doing at ATL. He had a strong arm and was a capable thrower, just needed the right coach to develop him. Had Reid drafted him we probably would be talking differently about him right now.
  10. This just shows you its the coaches/OC that have them running so much. Can Cam, Lamar, Vick etc throw well? Of course they they can, they were successful NFL QBs, but their teams designed offenses around them running which you could argue hurt their development. So the whole "running QBs can't win" is pointless. It should be coaches need to expand their playbook/offense if they expect to win a championship in the NFL.
  11. The general consensus was Lance was going to sit a year. He did and all the sudden everyone is skeptical. Let's see what happens this year before we pass any judgement on him (I know their will be "leaks" for inside the organization). "Ifs" are always going to be around for the draft because there are so many unknowns. Players get drafted based on upside and potential all the time.
  12. If we draft Sauce after Horn, paying Jackson, and trading for Henderson I will be frustrated. Sauce is a cool nickname though... QB/LT are the biggest needs, Edge Rushers are always valuable also. I rank the needs 1. QB, 2. LT (because BC showed some potential), 3. Edge Rusher.
  13. Yep. Burrow elevated the Bengals with their terrible coach/franchise.
  14. Willis is like Lance was. Raw as a passer but still got by on physical talent in a weaker conference. The goal will be for a team to develop him into a solid passer who can also run when needed. No team is going to want to use him to mainly run the ball and heave a few passes down the field. Teams are in love with his arm talent. He was round 63% completion in college and has the strongest arm in this class. He is a QB who can throw the ball, he just needs further developing/refining. I believe it was McShay that said he will instantly have one of the top 5 arms in the league and if they can develop his footwork in the pocket and teach him to go through progressions you could have a top 10 QB in the NFL. With that said we are not the team to do this. If he goes somewhere like the Steelers or Saints he could turn out pretty good. Cam was never given a proper OL and the refs let teams rough the passer all day against him because of his size. This is why his career ended early. Just think his rookie year he put up 4000 passing yards with a decent OL and Steve Smith. Had we continued to build a team around him he could have been basically what Josh Allen has become in Buffalo. Rivera got too caught up in our defense to realize how good our team could have been if we properly developed Cam.
  15. Lol only that’s not how it works. Cam went number 1 to what was the worst team in the league and won OROTY. Lawrence went number one to the worst team and struggled.
  16. Cam was top tier for game winning drives during his prime. When he had talent (Smith) at WR he broke 4000 passing yards as a rookie. We also never provided him a LT. https://www.espn.com/blog/carolina-panthers/post/_/id/31017/overlooked-cam-newton-as-clutch-as-brady-rodgers-and-brees?platform=amp Give Cam Hill, Kelce, and an elite line and imagine what he could have done. How did Mahomes look in his last Super Bowl with his OL was banged up giving him a below average OL? I swear people see a QB running and can’t handle it. Cam could throw it at a high level before TJ Watt destroyed his throwing shoulder.
  17. OROTY, League MVP is your floor? Then you are never going to draft a QB in the top 10. Guys like Lawrence and Stroud still have risks… Lawrence didn’t win OROTY and he was suppose to be a “sure thing.”
  18. Yeah I don’t see much about his throwing motion as lack of production. Looks like they are blaming Nagy and his offense which makes sense. If he doesn’t make any progress this year with a new staff then yeah it’s a red flag. Same goes for Zach Wilson in NYJ, Lawrence in Jax, and Lance in SF.
  19. Everything I read says they are trying to give him more weapons AKA building around him.
  20. I don’t think he makes it past the Steelers. They could be rolling out two UNC QBs next year.
  21. A trade down and walking away with Penning and Howell/Corral would be a success to me.
  22. I know right? We have these absolute terrible comments on here from terrible posters like this.
